The Football Thread #4 - It Is Not Soccer

Italy 1-1 New Zealand!:eek:The biggest surprise of the world cup so far!:wtf:

It's a bizar world cup..... some results (i.e. the above)... much ado about the french....

I'm with you Grissom rules... I hope also for a solid, good match from the brazilian... but the way things are going... I won't be surprised if there is another surprise...

What's up with the goalkeepers at the world cup?Did you guys see Netherlands' goal?

No complaints here  and again.... we (the netherlands) did not play our best game.... ( I knew it :shifty:) But you allready know media here "says": Netherlands is the best bet for World Cup. Which had me wondering why is it not the World Campinonships but a cup???

What would you prefere? (mind - game) super - defense or super - offense?

of course the combination ;)offensive football with results is the best.... but if less beautiful play leads to more results.. well...
btw... Ajbuckley .. .congrats on your victory... I guess you can still watch the games now ;)

Hi Palmtree. Thanks

Well as for watching I am still undecided as my temper. and bloodpressure might not well fitted for the Danish team.;)

You know they like to play as a collective (and not the Argintine way) but that often leads to some nice foreplay and no closure.

They often have themself right in front of the goal, but seem to reluctant(?) to shoot. Or spend way to long passing the ball around.

Portugal 7-0 N.Korea. Wow the second half was great.

I hope Spain can win it's match today. They are still one of my faves. :)

Indeed.. Portugal did well....
Shame I couldn't see the match....

And France.... ... the latest is a few players of the team are considering not playing tomorrow... the story continues

Spain 2-0 Honduras. That's good, so Spain has still a chance for the next round. :)

Meh... France gets on my nerves. That's not a team that's a dunghill. :(

.. at least a dunghill with a nice accent ....
It would be the best (I guess) if France, after today's match against south africa, is going home to lick her wounds....but then again.. it ain't over etc...

Finally we can say 'Bye Bye France! Adieu Les Bleus'. I didn't see the match but I guess it wasn't so good... I think France needs a consequently change in the team to be better team without "cockfights" the next time. :shifty:

Sadly South Africa is also not in the next round. :(
However I'm happy for Uruguay and Mexico.:)

too bad for Greece.....:(
however...argentina played efficiently...

I've heard nigeria did miss a lot of opportunities to win the match against south korea.....

Today's matches:

Australia vs. Serbia
Ghana vs. Germany
USA vs. Algeria
Slovenia vs. England

I've read England is not very amused that Germany's Wolfgang Stark will referee their match against Slovenia...
And Germany itself thinks that there is a conspiracy against them because of the referee (of course) and the fact that the Serbian coach allegedly gave the coach of Ghana a hint how Ghana can defeat Germany. Well, that sounds a bit paranoid to me. I think they are just afraid to follow France back home to Europe.:shifty:

hmm I guess this news is partly overruled by the news of France... at least overhere......(or I should read the newspaper better ;))

For both of my neighbours (i.e. England and Germany) I sincerely hope they will survive the first round....
