Well the warm - up begins for tomorrow.....I wonder whether or not to consult a wodoo doctor:vulcan:. Because this time has to be our "time" to shine. Or I will not watch football until the finale. It is odd that "more wants more" every time. It is a great thing to reacht the WM to begin with and yet people (and I) get terrible dsappointed when the team preforms badly.

But I am glad not to be a French player today. Radio reports hard times for the team in news papers. With brings me to the analyst from Argentina yesterday. He and the host "said" that the Argentin team wasn´t a collective player but that they base their teams on Messia figures every time(aka Messi this time). That really made me think. If Machismo really is so herobased that they see football as a collective game but as a star playing supported by his players or dicipels(?).
 
i haven't been watching (the only attention i've paid to the entire tournament is 1: the joke about showing your support for erectile dysfunction being on the increase by attaching a flag of a red cross on a white background to your car *snigger* and 2: the hoohah over those vuvuzela thingies), but i gather we lost - again? oh well, best off out of it i reckon ;)
 
Englane totally sucked last night.I mean they were facing Algeria!Serbia surprise a lot of people with their win over Germany.

Today's matches:
Netherlands vs Japan

Ghana vs Australia

Denmark vs Cameroon

Seems like the second game for some of the "established" soccer countries (France, Germany, England) isn't going well...

So...wondering what the second game will be for the netherlands...

Now we are off to buy popcorn and drinks:beer:.

But I tell ya...if they loose again. I will not watch until Tour de France or NFL begins again.

I often wonder why they(danish players) seem so slow compared to Brazil or Argintina and wish they wonder be more playfull and energitic(?) in their play instead of the tecnical and somewhat slow build - up in games. But so be it.

I wonder if the saying: defense wins compinonship and offense sells tickets is the same for our football as well as American.

What would you prefere? (mind - game) super - defense or super - offense?
 
Oh man, I feel so bad for Australia :( They deserved to win the match against Ghana... They were the better team at the end. Their coach should have brought Chipperfield and Kennedy sooner!

It'll be very hard for them now :(

Ohh yes I saw :eek::wtf: They're all complaining about the ball... but I don't think that's an excuse for all the mistakes...

I'm a goalkeeper myself and well... I can honestly say I would have had some of the balls some of the keepers let slip, but then I'm not at a world cup.

But I agree with you that it is really stunning how many mistakes happened already and how many pointless goals the teams had to deal with.

But what I also dislike at this world cup is how easily the referees show the yellow or red card... I mean what are we playing here??? Chess???

of course the combination offensive football with results is the best.... but if less beautiful play leads to more results.. well...
btw... Ajbuckley .. .congrats on your victory... I guess you can still watch the games now ;)
couldn't see the match (had a good reason though... concert Muse was very good... one of the best these guys... :))

I just looked at it and I thought it was just timing mistake from goalie and ball hit to spot (kind of to the side of the palm) and that's why he didn't caught it.

As for Camerun vs. Denmark. What a fast game :eek::eek:
And poor Eto'o after the 1st goal he was so close to make another but hit the pole.
