The Event

If at first you don't succeed, try our patience again. That's the takeaway from the 2-hour, too little-too-late relaunch of The Event, which has yet to become. The good news:NO more time-jumping.:The bad:It's replaced by dizzying globe-trotting, as the melodramatic action shifts from Washington, D.C. where President Martinez [Blair Underwood] somberly diliberates, to revelations in Missouri and Tibet to a violent showdown in Alaska, where warmongering alien Thomas [Clifton Collins Jr.] makes a move against his more diplomatic mom, Sophia [Laura Innes]. Left without much of a purpose is everyman hero Sean [Jason Ritter], who rightly notes "We've heard alot of things that don't make any sense"

I had ALMOST forgotten about the show. Since I've already watched this far, I'm interested in seeing how the season plays out. However, it's against three of my favorite shows (House, How I Met Your Mother, and Chuck), so I'll be watching it on Hulu the next day.

It's about time....I forgot most of the Characters.

Even if it's just the one season, I'm gonna watch to the End. :)

Just to see Blair Underwood is such a treat, he's gorgeous. He also has a comedic side and was in "The New Adventures Of Old Christine" as a teacher who Christine dates, and "Sex In The City", amonst many other projects. And now the president on "The Event", he's so handsome and versatile. Trivia: he was a presenter Friday night at the NAACP Image Awards:p

decrypting Thomas' satellite message and figuring out to whom it was sent s of upmost importance to the president. In other events, an attack is handled by Blake:and a senator may reveal information about the Mt. Insotranka detention facility

I thought it was great intense and a bit sci-fi, mixed with reality, Virginia Madsen was great [damn she look's good] as the senator from Alaska playing cat and mouse with Pres. Martinez [Blair Underwood] the whole prison camp fisaco, the two kids running as usual, and Leila finding out she's part alien. Her dad is one, & Sophia running the show with Thomas trying to stop her, and releasing all those prisoners. Lord they crashed 66 years ago. It kept my interest:eek:

"THE EVENT", WAS IT WORTH THE 3 MONTH WAIT?

Crap, I really need to learn how to use the search function. Sorry I am new here. :(

But yes, I love this show even though it is very odd. I hope NBC lets it air all its episodes this season even if there is no season 2.

This isn't looking good for this show "The Event". Upon it's return last Monday [a two hr. special] it only brought in 5.227 million viewers.:( It's on again tonight, but that's nothing compared to say "American Idol" which kicks a.. and brings in like 23 million. So time will tell on this show:confused:

President Martinez resserts control following the attack in Alaska. Sophia learns about Thomas' rampage

TV Guide, issue March 14-20~

It dropped even further. NBC has had another rough year. The show wouldn't be in this bad of a shape if it hadn't taken a 3 month hiatus.

OMG, this was to me the best episode so far:bolian: Everything is coming together and now we all understand all of it. THis is such a unique show sci-fi, mixed with reality, Pres. Martinez [ BU so damn handsome]:p and Sophia and her rotten son Thomas trying to out do each other and all liars, Mother against son, and Martinez caught in the middle. Sean in that bar fight, riveting. He tried to walk away but the guy kept agrivating the situation and he finally retaliated and beat him to a pulp. Breaking into the house of his friend, and Leila and her little sister. BTW Det. Vegas from CSI was the safe home where they stayed. The dad helping Sophia, and Leila still not knowing the real truth about him and the alien factor. The truck explosion and what-his-face hiding under the bridge. Really good episode. Gosh I hope they renew this;)

I noticed a lot of guest stars on CSI are in this show. I count at least 3.

Also, I think NBC will let this show air all its episodes despite it low ratings. They like the show and promote it a lot. As long as it keeps a rating above say about a 1.0 and doesn't drop below 3 million viewers, its safe.

But if it does get canceled as TV BY THE NUMBERS says it will, I hope ALL the episodes air on TV. I don't want to have to watch it online.

Thomas shares the message he received with Sophia, Diane Gellar and other Sleepers

Great episode, President Martinez playing cat and mouse with Sophia, and the evil son Thomas pretending to bond with his mother, they hate each other. Sean and the evil doer going to the exclusive party with fake ID's., to kill the VP, but foiled again..The ending with the aliens in the chruch and the swat team surrounding them, what's next?:wtf:

The ratings for last nights episode were 4.05 million~
