The Event

WOW, as things heat up:eek:President Martinez and his close associate find out that the VP is a traitor and he's following instructions from of all people A head honch, who is pulling the strings with the person as a special guest Hal Holbrook [he's 85] what a great actor. He ordered his assassination. Meanwhile Jason and his girlfriend are on the run and he gets shot, she kidnaps a doctor, and he saves his life. Then the head guy [forget his name] calls in the girl that kidnaped the couple and she's told to kill the VP. He turns himself in, but on his way there's an explosion and he's dead. So many twists & turns, a suspensful, intriguing series:thumbsup:

This show is just so poorly written... I've given up. If it lasts in the second season, I'll be amazed.

THE EVENT'S BIG REVEAL

Get ready for the biggest shocker yet on The Event:There isn't only one event! "Major large-scale, potentially world-changing events will end every season", says ex. producer Evan Katz. The first of which, he hints, is a humdinger that will alter the entire world. But before NBC's spooky sci-fi saga will leave viewers guessing with a November 29 mid-season finale full of twists and danger" "we'll learn a great deal about Sophia's people:how man there are, how they integrated and what the status of Sophia's leadership is over them is" says Katz. Complicating matters for the survivors is a new alien villainess [Necar Zadegan] presents a challenge so Sophia's leadership" Meanwhile, President Martinez [Blair Underwood] will face a military crisis, and Sean [Jason Ritter] & Leila [ Sarah Roemer] close in their search for her abducted little sister, Samantha. While on the hunt, Leila will uncover a stunning revelation about one of the characters that will change everything..again!

Another twist and turn episode, so many things happening and this show has brilliant writing, it's fast paced and keeps one gussing at all times. The VP is recovering after getting blown up. Pres. Martinez [Blair Underwood] is perplexed and trying to find out what's happening.. [he's so hansome:p] Meanwhile Sean and Leila are still searching for her little sister, they find someone a little girl, who has an old face, and she knows where she is. A assassin is hot on thie trail and chases them all through a corn field, and Sean finally shoots him. The mom and little girl run away. Sophia's son Thomas is going to kill her, cause his grlfriend Isabella assures him, he'd be a better leader. he goes to do the dirty deed but realizes it's his mom and chickens out. Sophia finds Isabella and gives her the choice to run and never be in their group again, or shoot herself, which she does:eek:The season finale will be next week~

I'm quickly giving up on the show. I liked it at first but its starting to get too repetitive and is barely holding my attention now. I'm pretty much only watching it for Ian Dale, but as soon as something else comes on that I like that clashes with it then I'm off. I've already got plenty of caps of Simon in a suit to last me anyway:lol::drool:

STRUGGLING, THE EVENT will try again next year

Call it the curse of the genre shows. Much lke what happened last winter to ABC's FlashForward, NBC's freshman drama The Event will take a three-month haitus beginning Nov. 29 and relaunch on Feb. 28 [It will return with a two-hour-long recap special before returning it's regular run]. The conspiracy-themed drama starring Jason Ritter and Blair Underwood got a full-season pickup, despite it's so-so performance.. it averages 7.8 million, though it does fet an additional 2.1 million DVR viewers. Unfortunately for Event fans, the history of the hiatus has not been kind:FlashForward never recovered after it's three-and-a-half month break and got canned last May. For now, NBC is putting up a positive front. The Event will be presented in two cycles..10 episodes in the fall and 12 episodes in the winter/spring, 'Mitch Metcalf, NBC's head of scheduling, tells EW "Both cycles will feature no repeats, which we know are extremely frustrating to fans". In between the two cycles, on Jan 9, NBC will premiere The Cape, a drama starring Eat, Pray Love's featuring David Lyons as a framed cop who makes himself into a masked hero, says Metcalf. It's the perfect bridge between the two miniseasons of The Event~

I'm not surprised; I thought that Flashforward was a great show with a stellar cast (especially Dominic Monaghan and John Cho) so I was rather saddened to know it was going on hiatus, which is one of the earliest signs a show is getting cancelled.

While I did and still do care that FF was eventually cancelled it doesn't really matter to me if this means The Event is going to go as well. Let it get axed; right now I'm only watching it for some eye candy courtesy of Dale

I'm thrilled that "The Event" has been picked up. It's a riveting, compelling off the wall show. Many twists and turns that keeps the fans guessing, and great writing. And then there's the luscious Blair Underwood:p

Are any of you fans planning on watching this show when it returns? I think it's great , so I hope it's a go, and they continue with it:bolian:

I was reading somewhere, I think it was TV Guide online, that it was pushed back to March 7 with a 2-hour episde (or 2 one-hour episodes).

(Edit to add) From TVGuide.com:

NBC has pushed back the return date for The Event another week, a network rep confirms.

The serialized drama, originally scheduled to resume Feb. 28, will now offer a two-hour episode on Monday, March 7 at 8/7c. After that, the network has nine episodes left to complete Season 1, and the series will retake its original Monday at 9/8c timeslot.

Thank's Dynamo1 this is from the new TV Guide saying~

Who are these people again? It's about worm-holes and aliens, right? Fans may finally get the answers when the NBC drama returns March 7

So this series is still almost 4 week's away, that's a shame, it's so electrifying and the cast is excellent. I hope this makes it down the line and in the long run:bolian:
