Re: The CSI: Miami 'I Have A Question' thread.NO SPOILERS PL

Exactly. Here in the UK for example, we do not get new episodes of CSI:Miami until July of the following year (the channel that airs the CSI shows chooses to air LV and NY first in January).

Therefore, it is very difficult to impose the spoiler rule indefinitely as there is no way of knowing who has seen what globally. Sometimes, in character threads, people post a spoiler warning when discussing recent episodes out of courtesy, but we cannot impose that as a rule. The Board Rules do state:
While many people want to discuss upcoming episodes, there's also a sizable group of people who don't want to know details about an episode before it airs. Until an episode has aired in the United States, do not post plot info in the subject title of your thread, but only include things like the episode title and very general information.

(VERY small 5-1 "Rio" spoiler, but only tangentially)

Ryan mentioned Boa Vista's ex husband is a "bastard." What ep. is this, and what'd he do?

Thanks.

Re: The CSI: Miami 'I Have A Question' thread.NO SPOILERS PL

We found out in 417_Collision that Boa belonged to an underground society of women who were abused by their husbands. She also tells Eric that her husband was in jail.

Ah, thanks. Think we oughta start a similar thread on the NY and Vegas boards?

Another question: Why did Riaz (I think?) kill the Mala Noches w/ the bomb at the beginning of season 5's finale?

Thanks in advance.

 Do you mean the season 4 finale? You mean the bomb that killed Jessop? Well that wasn't Riez, that was a guy looking for Riez; the Russian guy who had all those guns. He planted the grenade as a message I think. Not sure about that though.

Hope that answers your question. :)

Re: The CSI: Miami 'I Have A Question' thread.NO SPOILERS PL

Oh yeah, that's right, the season 4 finale. My bad. According to the ep. guide though, the bome was set on Riaz's orders...? Thanks though.

Hi,
I have only recently started watching CSI:Miami via download (I have missed season 2 because it is not available) and have just started season 4. Can someone please tell me why Horatio says at the start of the episode "welcome back" to Calleigh, Delco and Togo? Where have they been? Nothing was said about what has happened since the last season (was it something to do with Calleigh taking down her name badge from the ballistics section?).
Also, why is there a new DNA lab? What happened to the old one? They have completely changed it with no explanation! Am I just being really dense here?
Please help me!

Welcome to TalkCSI Gem104. :)

To answer your question, Horatio says "Welcome back" to his team in the Season Four premier, because the time slot between the finale of season three, and the premier for season four were a substantial time apart from each other. -Meaning the team was on vacation. (much like a the beginning of season three when Horatio says "Sorry to call you on your day off.") - I don't believe it had anything to do with Calleigh taking her name off the wall in Ballistics. She had just quit that department, but she was still working in the lab.

There is a new DNA lab, because of a federal grant given by the government to analyze 'Cold Cases' - Boa Vista's department - within the Crime Lab. The old one is still there. Either they have melded the two together, or they're in seperate parts of the building. - But I can guarantee you, the old DNA lab is still there under all the makeover madness. ;)

I hope that answers your questions. :)

Ah ok now I get it. Thank you for all of that, and for replying so quickly you have been very helpful. This would have annoyed me for weeks if this message board hadn't been here! It does seem a bit crazy that they would let them all go on holiday at once though!
I did see Boa Vista in the episode but unfortunately cannot watch anymore (unless I skip a load of episodes which I don't want to do) because at the moment the only copies I can find are in Spanish! I never thought I would get hooked on this because I'm such a big CSI fan and a purist, but Miami is growing on me!

A reminder to make sure any downloading discussions are of the legal variety-iTunes for example. ;)

Gem104, welcome to the Miami forum. :)

Re: The CSI: Miami 'I Have A Question' thread.

okay I only watch the original CSI but I have seen a few Miami ones.. but I don't really know if I want to watch more of them cause I don't really hear good things.. so can someone help me out?

Re: The CSI: Miami 'I Have A Question' thread.

I am not sure what you are asking. You will have to judge for yourself. CSI: Miami is a very highly rated show, usually in the top 10 of the week, so there must be millions of viewers. I happen to like all three CSI series. I hope you do, too. But I can't force you to like it. If there is a specific question about the show or a particular episode, please feel free to ask it here.

I think it really depends on what suits you, I watch all three and I prefer Miami, but I know there are a lot of people out there that prefer the original CSI. Miami has such a different tone to the other two, which for me works in it's favor. As Dynamo mentioned, Miami is a very highly rated show, especially here in Europe, the majority of the time Miami will get more viewers than LV or New York. I would say watch it and see what you think, I wouldn't not watch Miami just because other people don't like the show, each person is different and hopefully you'll really enjoy it. :)

*ETA* I could have sworn I saw Adam Rodriguez in Lionel Richie's new music video - I actually thought it was an advert for CSI Miami. Does anyone know if it's him? It's really bugging me. I only saw a small part of the video.

From Adam's Other works page at IMDB: Appeared in Lionel Richie's "I Call It Love" music video with Nicole Richie (2006)
