Supernatural #3 - No Chick Flick Moments

Sorry D, I hope this doesn't count as chatting (which folks, I believe from my Mod days was when people are posting back and forth consistently for a little too long- sort of like you're actually have a conversation a la MSN Messenger and the like). Hopefully I can be forgiven since this is sort of a big deal to us fan types... ;)

He was wearing like straight leg track pants (the cool kind) and a sort of pale burgundy tee. He looked cool and un-poserish. (Coincidentally, I was the one wearing the Underarmor baseball hat) Had lots of facial scruff- the Castiel special! I was walking straight at him before I noticed him, and I only noticed him because he was staring right at me- I tend not to look at people in the gym because I never want to look like I'm checking people out. Anyway, I hope he didn't see the spark of recognition on my face before I quickly looked down and pretended to adjust my iPod... I'm thankful I was working out because that would explain my red face more easily! ;) I would have loved to tell him he's doing an excellent job on Supernatural but, like you said, I didn't want to hassle the dude during his workout.

So, he's shorter than I expected- like 5 foot 8 or 9 maybe? But dang, he is cute! Looks just as good in real life as on TV (but more tanned), and has that nice lean build that I always like.

Anyway, I'll have to thank him on behalf of my abs because I wasn't planning on doing abs today, but I needed an excuse to stick around a little longer! I just totally teased him on Twitter too... hope he notices. (And doesn't think I'm a stalker! )

I wouldn't say Cas didn't have problem with destroying the town. He may not have liked what had to be done, but he trusts that God knows what he's doing and if God gives him the order, he's not going to ignore that. Remember that story in the bible where God told that one guy to kill his son and that guy was gonna do it, though he didn't want to, but he couldn't disobey God... although God stopped him in the end and said "you don't really have to do this, I just wanted to test your loyalty". I think Cas is a lot like that guy (and forgive me for not knowing the names of those characters- its been a while since I was in Sunday school lol).

What if Ellen does die in ep 12 and then God uses her for his vessel?

I got a question for you guys how many days after the episode airs does it take for the episode to end up online. Cause with reading you guys posts about the last episode I really want to wait the episode and the watch for it to be online is killing me here. :brickwall:

Baba, pardon my brief instance of sounding like a 1950's teenager, but Misha sounds dreamy IRL. :adore: You are really really REALLY lucky. And he was looking right at you! I think I might have yelped, really and truly, if that'd happened to me. You have a lot more composure than I do. :D

GNRfan, you're thinking of the story of Abraham and Isaac. Abraham is totally raising the knife to kill his son Isaac and then God's voice calls out "hold up, wait, just kidding, just kidding!"

You're right, I think Castiel is like Abraham. He certainly has doubts about the angels and about the way Heaven is being run, but I don't think he's ever truly doubted his father.

What counts as chatting? I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just don't know whether or not I've broken the rules here.
Same here.
I don't see asking a simple question as picking a fight, as I said it was being asked that you slow down and that no one was in trouble.
Chatting is when a discussion board starts to look like a chatroom (ie IM's, Etc) the posts are so close together that it becomes less of a board discussion. How to determine there is a time stamp on the right upper corner of every post, there is also a thread at the top of the forum, "Help/Info desk" it can tell you more. Hopefully this answers your question, if not feel free to pm me anytime. ;)

Baba's memory serves her well, including getting kicked in the butt *wait that hasn't happened...yet.* :p

Alright, well, now that this place has completely died overnight, I'd like to pose a question (because I've been hanging around the official CW SPN forum and this is the kind of stuff they discuss):

Is Castiel trustworthy?

There's an entire thread dedicated to "Castiel Skeptics". Some suspicious behavior they've noted:

In the season 5 premiere when Zach is basically scrambling the boys' insides, Cas shows up just in time to waste 2 angel lackies and then demand that Zach put the boys back together & amscray, despite the fact that Castiel is supposed to be seriously boned (cut off from most of his angel powers, hunted by heaven, etc). In The End, just as Zachariah was about to put the stranglehold on Dean, Cas zaps Dean from the hotel room to the side of the road where Cas had been waiting, then asks how Zach had found Dean despite the fact that Dean hadn't mentioned Zach at all. And in the most recent episode, Cas not only tracks down the boys, but tracks them straight into an altered reality, despite the Enochian symbols he carved into their chests during the premiere.

How did he accomplish all this?

He still has some of his powers, but they are waning day by day. When he first came back, he had a lot which is how he was able to waste two angels. Misha said (I think it was him, but could have been one of tptb) that Cas still has the teleporting ability which also includes teleporting Dean to him. He knew Zach was involved either because he heard it on "Angel Radio" or he just knows the look Dean gets when Zach's done something he doesn't like.

As for how he tracked them down in the alt reality, his powers have been waning some, so maybe he can still find the boys. He's not a full powered up Angel anymore, so the symbols don't keep him from being able to find the boys. An alternate version of a reason is that he can always sense Dean because they have a connection probably something to do with the hand mark he left on Dean when he raised him from Hell. It's kind of like how on the movie "John Carpenter's Vampires", a vampire bit a woman and drank from her and after that he could always find her because they had that connection. Or possibly a third reason is that God is helping Cas and the boys without their knowledge. Cas doesn't question his father or his faith, so he probably doesn't even bat an eye at the fact that he was able to find the boys. He does still have a few powers left. They aren't completely depleted yet. Still some juice left in the batteries so to speak.

Is Castiel trustworthy?

:scream: Arrrg! Nooooooo! Stop messing with my head!!!!

 My first reaction was, of course he is, he's Cas! And as I was reading through all the arguments, I kept thinking, 'of course he's a good guy, of course he's trustworthy' ...but now I've got that little voice in my head going what if... what if...

*chuckle* I know, that was my reaction when I saw the "Castiel Skeptics" thread. I was thinking "uh... exactly why would anyone be skeptical of Cas?" I mean, it never even occurred to me. But now...

Well, I haven't really been persuaded, to tell you the truth. Most of the questions and picky little details can be explained logically or by the character development that we're supposed to have seen (plus, there have been a ton of interviews about Cas and they all pretty much say the same thing - he's a conflicted good guy who's kind of down on his luck in the 5th season).

It's just interesting to consider the "possibilities". I mean, there are people out there who insist that Castiel is Dean's Ruby. I just don't see that happening, but their theories on his "untrustworthiness" are definitely fascinating.

Thank you for the explanation, Destiny :)

Oh, wait, do you mean "falling" as in becoming completely human? I guess that's true, Gabe didn't fall like that. Alright, um.... what term should be used, then? Because he isn't simply on vacation, but he hasn't turned human (obviously), so....... I dunno, what term should be used?
I don't know. But I do think that maybe Gabriel was able to hide his identity, to the point of even if Heaven (and Hell) were looking for him, they couldn't find him. After all, he is an Archangel. One of four. So there aren't that many angels who are on the same level as him in the first place, let alone ones who can track him down.

Guess what I just read! :D Wow, it's awesome. If you've always wanted to marry Jensen, don't read. :p

Oh, and I definitely think Castiel is trustworthy. He just doesn't seem to be.. on the bad side like Zach.

Reading your question, I also thought "Ruby," only not in the sense that Castiel is Dean's Ruby, but in the sense of them (Castiel and Ruby) having an agenda of their own. Ruby played Sam, though I still believe that she, at the very least, cared for him. And she did want him to be awarded. She basically played a part that he was willing/needed to buy. Does Cas doing something else?

He's not married yet. And even if he would be married, he can always get divorced ;) I am just joking here, as I am really happy as they seem to be a sweet couple.

Castiel trustworthy? I think I answered that earlier, when Ginnna asked if Castiel could be Dean's Ruby. Yes, he's trustworthy.

Wow! Well, I guess I should hold off on ordering those china patterns...

Good for him. And she's a bit of beautiful, isn't she? Man, what will their kids look like?!! Sheesh.
