GNRfan, is this the list you're talking about? It's a pretty comprehensive list... but strangely it doesn't list Castiel!
Nope, but it lists Cassiel. I'm pretty sure they're one and the same. Hebrew names and their English equivalent don't always match :shifty:

I found another website, and it doesn't look quite as authoritative, but it lists Cassiel as the angel of Saturdays and Castiel as the angel of Thursdays.

(warning, weird sentence construction ahead :wtf:)
And as for it being cruel to the boys to have their father be God's vessel , knowing Kripke, it won't matter much to him. Think of all the things they have been through. Sam actually died, so did Dean and he went to hell, they lost their father, Sam lost his girlfriend the same way his mother was killed etc.No human could ever bear what those boys have been through. I mean, cruelty is basically what this show is made of . So maybe only based on that, I'm rooting for John to be God's vessel :p

Plus, JDM = :adore:

You're right about cruelty... Kripke has tortured those boys pretty darn badly. But... I keep feeling like God isn't gonna be anything we expect. Not a great big ball of awesome, not a great big ball of douchery, but... something that'll shock you to your core.

I do hold out hope that we'll see JDM again. I've read several articles in which both Kripke and JDM have said "John should be in the series again!" Kripke has said "I wish we could get JDM back... and if his busy schedule allows, we'll take him back in a heartbeat". JDM has also expressed interest in returning, saying he didn't think John's role in the show is over yet.

Hmm... that second site doesn't have Zachariah listed and neither does the first one. Well, there are a couple with Zach in their names. I think there's one that is Zachriel or something like that.

Yeah, I haven't found much information on Zachariah. I know that there's a Saint Zachariah, and there was also a "Propher" Zachariah, but I don't think that there's ever actually been an angel Zachariah. The SPN PTB may have made him up. You know, artistic license and all. :D

Maybe they made him up completely or just decided to use the Saint's name for the angel character instead of Zachriel or the other Zach one (can't remember what it was). Maybe some of the angel names are hard to think of shortened versions of.

Gabriel fell away from Heaven, has had nothing to do with God or his brothers or his true home for years, and he's still able to do everything we've seen him do.
Did he fall, or simply choose to stay out of sight? Because I understood the later

I think Cas is the opposite of Ruby. I think he's completely good where Ruby was completely evil and manipulative.
I disagree. I think one of the strongest themes of the series is that the lines between Good and Evil are not always clear. Hence Ruby wasn't all evil, while Castiel isn't all good.

On God's vessel: While I'll like the idea of it being either John or Mary (and it might be easier to bring Samantha Smith back), I think that if that wouldn't happen, the series will either use a character that we know (I was thinking today of Ben), or will bring some big name, maybe a well-known genre actor/actress?

^Ben, as in the supposed son of Dean?

Hey, what about Bobby as God's vessel? He'd regain the use of his legs, and: isn't there a story somewhere in the Bible where Jesus makes a crippled man walk again?

[/total randomness]

Yes. Personally, I still think something was off (as in Ben is Dean's son), which will keep the father/son idea (with a twist) and keep things in the family. But even if he's not, why should God's vessel be an adult? Just as it doesn't necessarily have to be a man, who said that it can't be a child?

The dialog was: "My own private witness protection. I skipped out of heaven, had a face transplant, carved out my own little corner of the world... until you two screwed it all up!" Going into "witness protection" leads me to assume that he fell rather than just wandered off (i.e. a fallen angel would be hunted while a "wandered off" angel wouldn't need to hide).

I think Cas tries to be completely good, tries to do what he thinks is the will of God, but was totally thrown when his brother and sisters, who are also supposed to unfailingly uphold the will of God, started doing things Castiel sees as that of which God would not approve... hence MAJOR conflict. I think he followed orders as long as possible because he was holding onto hope that the angels were still loyal to their father, but once he realized that they were all "just too sad and tired" to keep up their loyalty, he said "screw this noise, I'm rebelling against what's left of Heaven because I think God wouldn't want me messed up in this nonsense".

Is that good? Is that bad? I dunno, but I'm hoping it ends up being good.

Son of Dean? When does that happen??

And yeah, I think it'd be kind of cool if Bobby were God's vessel. I think we already joked about the possibility of God, through Bobby, calling the boys idgits. :D

Son of Dean? When does that happen??

In the second episode (The Kids are alright) in season three. But it turns out that Ben has another father (according to that chick who used to be Dean's girlfriend). They were together for about 9 years ago. When Dean and Sam meet her again, she has a 8 year old son. Dean is starting to believe that he can be the father of Ben.

What Anna said when she got her Angel-memory back leads me to think that he didn't fall. Or maybe we just see the "fallen" thing differently?

I think Cas tries to be completely good,
Question is, what does Cas see as good. Same with Ruby (as the argument was that they suppose to be the complete opposite). Castiel didn't seem to have any problem with destroying an entire town in "It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester." Even if it was for a greater good.

What did Anna say? I don't recall. What was the dialog?

Oh, wait, do you mean "falling" as in becoming completely human? I guess that's true, Gabe didn't fall like that. Alright, um.... what term should be used, then? Because he isn't simply on vacation, but he hasn't turned human (obviously), so....... I dunno, what term should be used?

Cas sees "good" as the will of God. He has been unfailingly loyal to Heaven until now, and he's only going against Heaven because he thinks that they no longer care about God's will. He said he doesn't know what's right and wrong anymore, but I think he's always trusted in God.

He wasn't ever really gonna torch that town in The Great Pumpkin, right? I mean, they talked about their TRUE orders, and those orders were to do whatever Dean told them to do. Wait, that's right, right? I haven't seen that episode in a while. [[edit]] Ok, I went back and watched that dialog at the end, yeah, their orders were to do what Dean told 'em. And then Cas talks about having doubts, poor angel. :( [[/edit]]

He was, however, willing to kill that child a few episodes ago... well, somewhat willing. He had tears in his eyes, he apologized, he almost didn't go through with it, etc... but he would have. That's disturbing.

Guys lets slow down alittle bit, I don't think anyone wants that no-no chatting reminder. So all that is asked is that you slow down a touch. Everyone is excited to discuss their fav show and characters thats awesome. And before anyone thinks utoh were in trouble your not, your just being asked. ;)

What counts as chatting? I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just don't know whether or not I've broken the rules here.

Same here.

OK, I haven't posted in a bit, so I think I'm OK...

Ginna, judging by your avatar, I think you in particular will appreciate this: I just saw Mischa Collins in my gym! I'm serious! And I don't go to any hoity toity gym here, either- we're talking inexpensive (but decent!) community centre in my neighbourhood! I was dying to say something but... stupid Canadian politeness! I can't shake it!

I'm totally going to Twitter him I think. Hopefully he doesn't think I'm a stalker! But hey, it's MY gym. :p

Oh... my... GOD... you have no idea how much of a fangirl moment I would have had if I'd been in the same position. Hyperventilating, unabashed ogling, screaming silently at myself to go say something, anything, but then holding myself back because I don't wanna be one of THOSE people, cornering someone at the gym who only wants to work out and be left alone for an hour.

And now I'm totally gonna ask what he was wearing. What was he wearing? :D Like... sweat clothes? Under Armor stuff? T-shirt & shorts?

I must live vicariously through you. :D
