Supernatural #3 - No Chick Flick Moments

Ugh! Anna! But at least she's trying to do something evil this time (IMO), so there's very little chance that Dean will sleep with her again. But what the heck? I don't like that storyline. It sounds too much like Terminator to me... except with an angel instead of a machine. Sounds dumb to me. I hope Sam gets to be the one to kill Anna. I'm sure she'll have to be killed. But its only fair that Sam do it since Dean got to kill Ruby. Or maybe Cas can do it since what Anna tries to do would keep Dean from existing and Cas wouldn't want that, surely. I think Cas considers Dean a friend. :D

The stuff about Ghostfacers and Castiel/Misha sounds great though.

Thanks for your information about upcoming episodes and the spoiler. The spoiler tags apparently didn't work for me, so I can't say what I think about it. Nothing more than that I am really looking forward to the first episode, 5x09

I wish in "Changing Channels" they had done a space show skit. I'd love to see Jensen and Misha especially in those Star Trek-esque costumes.

Anna's stupid because even if she succeeded in keeping Sam from being born (whats with trying to make sure Dean isn't born either? She'd only really need to kill one parent, not both- and she would only need to kill Mary before Sam was conceived not before Dean was- this plot line is just dumb to me), Azazel put that blood in lots of kids, so even if Dean and Sam didn't exist, one of those other kids would end up being the vessel for Lucifer... and they might not have a big brother like Dean and a guardian angel like Cas looking out for them. Stupid Anna. I hope Cas smokes her stupid angel butt. Maybe they can have Chuck intervene and try to stop Anna and her try to take him out to get him out of the way and his arch angel will kill Anna.

You bring up an EXCELLENT point.

You're right, of course, that even if she did kill Sam, there would still be vessels out there. But even more basic than that... doesn't she know that destiny can't be changed? That's what Castiel said back in the episode In The Beginning. "You couldn't have changed anything, destiny is destiny," etc. Though... I don't know just how detailed destiny is. Maybe Sam is destined to be Luci's vessel... but before it happens, he and Dean devise a brilliant plan to thwart the Apocalypse, and somehow, the plan actually involves Sam saying "yes", thus fulfilling his destiny. I dunno.

I never felt much towards Anna (besides a little pity... and a twang of anger... because damnit, Dean slept with the wrong angel that night!) but now I'm feeling genuine annoyance towards her. Either this is some really intricate, convoluted plan that won't ACTUALLY involved killing anyone, in which case I suppose I could forgive her (but it'd also mean that I'd start considering her to be just another one of the manipulative dicks that all the other angels are), or she really is this stupid (in which case, yeah, I won't mind at all if Cas smites the everlivin' out of her).

LOL, yeah, maybe they can bring Chuck into it. I heart Chuck!! He could make another grand entrance, hold up a trembling hand and squeak out "I am the prophet CHUCK!" Hehehe, I love it!

It's interesting that Anna possesses the ability for time travel, being that she was taken back upstairs for disobedience the last I remember. And I would find it hard to believe that she was re-brainwashed and recruited into killing the Winchester parents as the archangels want the apocalypse to happen. So this is her own crusade against the apocalypse. Okay.

Here's to hoping Cas' angel-fu is sufficient enough to drop-kick her. :p

ALSO an excellent point!

Why is it that Castiel has been bitch-slapped by Heaven, with most of his powers gone, while Anna (the deserter, the criminal) is allowed to keep her time travel ability? It's all very suspicious. I mean, honestly, it just doesn't add up. What has Anna done to deserve this leniency? She's been just as "bad" as Castiel, correct? Possibly worse!

So... what strings did she pull? Exactly how many "favors" did she call in? Or, perhaps, whose dirty work is she doing as compensation for her clean slate and restored angelic power?

Cas has been knocked down by the other angels because he's a threat to them. He's seemingly the only one actually still wanting to follow God when Zach and the other jerks want to take over Heaven.
Maybe Anna has gotten on board with their plan and that's why they haven't taken her abilities again. But I swear Anna must have split personalities or something. After everything that the guys did for her, she's gonna turn on them?

Remember when we heard that Dean would get angel powers last season? I wonder if it was in reference to the fact that Dean would learn an angel trick (the thing with the blood and the hand in the blood to send away Zach). Cause Dean never got any actual powers. But, I guess maybe it could have been in reference to the thing about Michael's vessel... even though there's probably no way that Dean will say yes to that.

Maybe Anna always worked for the Lucifer side. When she killed Uriel, I thought she was covering something up. And what better way to gain everyone's trust than to kill the traitor? And here, by killing John and Mary, she'd make sure Dean (Michael's vessel) wouldn't be born, or else she could kill them after Dean's birth (which would probably mean bringing JDM and Samantha Smith).

I don't think she's on Lucifer's side because if she were she wouldn't try to kill Lucifer's true vessel. Killing John and Mary would mean that Sam would never exist, thus getting rid of Lucifer's true vessel.... so that can't be the plan. While I do think there would be someone else that would be a vessel if Sam and Dean didn't exist, killing Sam would defeat the purpose I would think (because there would always be a replacement if Sam didn't exist- then Anna would have to go back in time to keep the new vessel from being born and so on and so forth- her work would never be done- so it seems pointless to me for her to go through with this plan lol).

My guess is that Lucifer might get wind of what Anna's trying to do and he might end up being the one to kill her. It would mess up his plans if she succeeded, so he would want to eliminate that threat.

While it's true that she'd be killing Lucifer's vessel, she'd first be "killing" Michael's vessel. So even if, as you said, there would always be a replacement to Sam, would there always be a replacement for Dean?

More spoilery talk!

I guess we'll get some clue as to her intentions and loyalties when we figure out whether she's going back to kill their parents before or after Dean is born. I haven't seen any indication in the spoilers to suggest either one... so we'll have to wait to see whether she intends on killing one or both.

By the way, I'm still kind of apprehensive about the episode tonight, but... I'm gonna give it a fair shake and try not to get too weirded out by the crazy mind-warping meta-ness of it all. Plus I'm sure it's gonna have its priceless moments. I've already seen a short clip and I've gotta say, Becky is still as awesome as ever.

 at Dean rolling his eyes at Becky.

"Oh My God! I love it when they talk at the same time!"

Oh man these facial expressions are cracking me up.

Loved Becky getting mad at hook-handed guy.

"I need a drink."

Agents Jaggers and Richards.

"They're freakin' annoying!"

Sam and Dean have to be Rufus and Bobby?

 at Dean's blowup at the fanboys.

Dean's reaction when the guys said they were partners... "Well, howdy partners." :guffaw:

Becky and Sam at the end were funny. Loved her falling for Chuck after he got rid of that ghost.

Was that Jo that Dean was kissing in the preview? Is this ep 12?

I don't care about Jo one way or the other, but I would much rather it be her than Anna he was kissing. At least there is chemistry between him and Jo. I still have a feeling that Jo will be one of the "fan favorites" who gets killed.

Oh, man. That was awkwardly hilarious. I officially love Chuck and Becky.

I like how the two fans (Barns and Damien?) ended up teaching Dean a lesson about his own life... even if they didn't believe that he really was Dean  I would love to see Chuck dedicate a book to the real Sam and Dean...

Finally! A lead on the Colt! :D

Chuck kicked some major booty. I was very happy to see that. :D

A very good episode.

I think it is Jo. If she's one of the ones that doesn't make it out of next week's episode, then that would make sense. Otherwise, I don't know.

I hope it doesn't come down to a fight to the death between Sam and Dean. I don't want whoever lives (well, mostly... we saw what happened to Raphael's vessel when he wasn't there) to have that added guilt to them.

As far as Castiel being evil or manipulative, I can't really see it. I think he has more of a child-like/Utilitarian kind of view on the world. Utilitarianism is more about achieving the most good for the most people, and (as seen in It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester) that seems to be what he can rationalize. (Granted, their true orders were to follow Dean's orders, but Cas could also rationalize that leveling a town to stop a seal from breaking was for the greater good).

In the beginning, he saw things in more of a black and white sense (hence, child-like). There's right, there's wrong, and there's nothing in between. I think as he's spent more time with Dean (and humans in general), he's seen that there are gray areas to everything, which leads to doubt. Someone at his 'pay grade', though, seems to be used to following orders and being told this is right and this is wrong.

However, I think he's seeing that there is something in between, and that can lead to manipulation. After all, the angels higher than him (Zachariah, for example) seem to see the shades and play them to their advantage. And I think Cas sees that's not always good.

If Cas does end up manipulating something, it's probably not on purpose, because I think he does believe (more or less) in doing whatever's good for the most people (like rebelling and trying to stop Lucifer from rising).

Congrats to Jensen and Danneel! They make such a cute couple. :D
