Hey everyone, anyone notice that Supernatural made it into the news :guffaw:

We made the news!!! SPN fans broke Twitter this morning! Woot!

Okay, so apparently people were freaking out over the #luciferiscoming Trending Topic, P Diddy got involved and soon there was a whole God vs. Lucifer war on Twitter. How awesome is that??? Somewhere Kripke has got to be laughing his ass off! :p

But Twitter then took them all down. Bah. So we're left with #supernatural and #inkripkewetrust.

Seriously? People couldn't take a second to see what that TT was even about? That it was for a TV show? *sigh*
Dean said it best..."People are stupid crazy."

The best part is that we made the news over this. Woot! \0/ More publicity for the show!

Awesome :D

Good thing I don't have a Twitter, cause that would have made me delete it right there ... them taking down the messages.

And what the heck does Diddy have to do with it?

I was looking at that "who should play god" thing on buddytv... and some were saying it should be someone we already know. If that's the case, I'm all for them bringing back Jeffrey Dean Morgan and having God take the form of him. Imagine how confused the boys would be. On the other hand, I think it would freakin' rock if they got Morgan Freeman (of course they won't be able to lol). John Glover would also be good. One of the suggestions was Anthony Stewart Head. Okay, I'd totally love that. I miss seeing him every week. Speaking of BTVS alumns, James Marsters would also be a good choice. Someone suggested Bruce : points to icon : That would be cool, but he's got Burn Notice, so probably would be too busy. Maybe Kevin Sorbo? Or Scott Bakula. :D

 Someone suggested The Impala! LMAO!

Okay, who is Chad Lindberg?
:D Only one of the coolest characters to come onto Supernatural, sorry but I love me some Chad :p He played Ash during season 2, the guy in the Roadhouse asleep on the pool table with the mullet "All business at the front, party in the back!" :guffaw:

And I think Diddy started to comment with stuff like:

"LOOK AT THE TRENDING TOPICS! #GODISHERE THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!!! LETS GOOOO!"

LMAO! Can't believe he actually thought that was real.

Oh I was reading people's comments on those two links and someone mentioned that Misha challenged Diddy to eating cupcakes on horseback. :wtf:  And then someone else said he was trying to get the twitter tag put in that said :diddyisafraidofhistv:  I love Misha!

But this whole twitter thing happened on Wednesday night, right? Wednesday was 9/9/09. When I first signed online that day and opened my browser (google is set as homepage), I saw "today is 9/9/9, will the world end today?" So maybe some people were so afraid that it would that the "lucifer is coming" tag scared them. I don't really know what 9/9/9 has to do with the world ending. Three sixes is supposed to be the sign of the beast. Although some people think it someone got reversed and it really supposed to be three nines. But, I saw the same kind of headline on 6/6/06 about "would the world end".

Yes Misha on Twitter = awesome!

Okay. I'm off to the equestrian center for riding lessons. Someone please contact Mr. Diddy's dealer so we can set up the showdown.

Minions: I'm not sure how these things work, but if we get #PDIDDYISSCAREDOFHISTV to be a twit trend, that'd be our first tactical victory. and so it is

I'm throwin' down the gauntlet: P. Diddy, if you're out there & you're man enough, i challenge u to an cupcake eating contest-on horseback!

Mr. Twitter should be ashamed of himself for caving to God (and his crony P. Diddy).

What?!! We're at war with Puff Daddy now? That's fantastic. All we've needed all along is a common enemy to unite us!

Supernatural creator eyes 2010 finale (kinda…)

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke plans to end his series in May 2010. Kinda...

"I did set out [to] tell a five-season storyline," he told EW.com. "Quite frankly, I never expected [the show] to make it to five years. But now that we're in our fifth year, I have every intention of ending the story with a bang and not drawing it out or watering it down."

Eleven ways Dean Winchester is like Buffy Summers (yes you read that right) :guffaw: what writers will write :shifty:

While I was gleefully devouring all four seasons of Supernatural for my Diary of a Supernatural Virgin column, I couldn’t help but notice all of the similarities between Dean Winchester and my favorite ass-kicking blonde slayer, Buffy Summers. There’s no denying that Eric Kripke owes much to Joss Whedon for paving the way with his ground-breaking iconic series, but I also think he instilled in his hero, Dean, many of the same qualities that make Buffy the well-rounded character that she is.

It even goes beyond qualities and encompasses actual story elements that touched both characters. I’m going out on a limb here and saying that Kripke didn’t borrow without rhyme or reason: I think he paid homage to Whedon in the ways he subtly carved Dean’s complex character to be similar to Buffy’s duality — the lighthearted banter masking the inner angst.

1. Dean and Buffy both had a death wish, then decided they’d rather live.
Dean was done with his hunting life and ready to take on whatever death was going to bring him: hopefully, peace. Buffy did die, went to heaven, really liked it there, so never embraced life like she should have once she returned. In season three of Supernatural, Dean meets a nightmare version of himself in “Dream a Little Dream of Me” and decides he doesn’t want to die after all. Buffy just screws Spike, gets trapped in a pit with Dawn at the end of season six and decides to enjoy the earthly plane again.

2. Dean and Buffy both died and came back.
Castiel and the angels yanked Dean out of Hell and brought him back to Earth to do their bidding. Buffy’s “angel” was her best friend, Willow, whose questionable magic practices and love for Buffy caused her to make a really bad decision.

3. Each is in charge of watching out for a younger sibling.
Buffy’s got an important job in keeping Dawn — and The Key — safe. Dean’s got to watch out for little girl Sam, but also he’s got to be sure Sam doesn’t cross the line to the dark side.

4. Taking a demon life comes very easily to the pair.
Buffy’s never had any qualms about dusting a vamp, and it’s (mostly) always been an unquestionable truth for Dean that demons need killing.

5. Dean and Buffy each crawled their way up out of a grave.
When Willow’s spell brings Buffy back to life, she claws her way out of her coffin, only to be traumatized by the experience. Dean finds himself alive and matter-of-factly makes his way out of the dirt and back into life. Or a convenience store.

6. They each had a tough decision to make for the greater good: killing someone they loved.
At the end of season two, Buffy kills Angel and sends him back to Hell. Even though she knows he has his soul back, she does it to save the world. Throughout the Supernatural series, Dean is prepared to follow John’s orders (and Sam’s wishes) to kill Sam if he goes all evil. Would Dean have followed through if need be is another story….

7. They each tangled with Todd Stashwick.
Huh? Todd Stashwick is the actor who played the M’Fashnik demon in Buffy’s season six episode, “Flooded.” He also played Dracula in Supernatural’s season four “Monster Movie.” (Thanks to Brett for this obscure detail!)

8. They both had absentee fathers.
Buffy’s dear daddy left her mother right along with his interest in being a dad. She had a Mom she depended on, and Giles as her father figure. Dean’s dad meant well, but was too caught up in the hunt to be the best dad he could be, leaving Dean to fend for himself and take care of Sam. Do you think Buffy and Dean were both stronger for it, or did it contribute to their weaknesses?

9. Dean and Buffy each play the ditzy one.
As flaky as most of the Scooby gang can be at times, Buffy tends to have a ditzy side that counterbalances her slayer-esque strength and street smarts, foiled by Willow’s book smarts. Dean, as well, possesses the street smarts but, when compared with Sam, doesn’t have a lot of book knowledge to his credit.

10. They are vain and funny at the same time.
“I may be dead, but I’m still pretty. Which is more than I can say for you.” – Buffy, “Prophecy Girl”

“You think you’re funny?” – Henricksen
“I think I’m adorable.” – Dean

11. Dean and Buffy both put on a brave front when they’re scared, and we get some funny lines because of it.
“Now, we can do this the hard way or … well, actually, there’s just the hard way.” – Buffy to Darla
“That’s fine with me.” – Darla
“Are you sure? Now this is not gonna be pretty. We’re talking violence, strong language, adult content.” – Buffy

“I’m not going to die in a hospital where the nurses aren’t even hot.” – Dean

OK, I’m out. But I think I’ve proven my point: Buffy and Dean have a lot in common, and Kripke owes it all to Joss. Did I miss anything?

 They forgot to add that Bobby is the Giles to Dean's Buffy.

Sam is kind of like Willow... both embraced the darkside and almost got lost forever in it.

Well, Sam got hooked on demon blood/powers and Willow got hooked on dark magic... or magic, which sent her into a slightly dark area. Also, both Sam and Willow had girlfriends who were murdered. Sam's by a demon and Willow's by a psycho.

OK, this show is already bringing out some great posts! Awesome! I can't remember when there was this much chatter on here... Hah, I guess it was for the finale!

All good stuff up there, but the one thing that caught my eye was that Lucifer is actually a liar... Technically speaking, I don't think he can be, because no matter what he's still an angel, fallen or not. Regardless, I'm sure that through Lucifer's interpretation, he's telling the truth- he DID love God too much, and that's why he did what he did. I think if you analyze the real "literature" (i.e. not wikipedia! ) the reason Lucifer challenged God was because he thought God was giving too much attention to the humans (a "soul") and all that, and I think he thought that was a mistake, and that God would come to regret it, so he tried to convince him that it was a bad idea- particularly a bad idea for God; when God disagreed, Lucifer tried to take over and God cast him out... OK, theologists help me out here? I only vaguley remember Paradise Lost...

Anyway, I think technically speaking, Lucifer didn't lie; that was just his interpretation of why he did what he did.

Also, I'm not sure if we'll see God this season...? I'm guessing if we do, it won't be until the final blow out. At least, that's my wish; after all the show for me is still about Sam and Dean- they're MY focus. ;)

Alright, I've been staying out of this thread all summer because I wanted to avoid spoilers (which I was mostly successful at ;))

Got to watch the new episode last night, and I was not at all disappointed. In fact, I was rather thrilled :D

I think my favorite line was when Dean called Zachariah an asshat  I don't know why I found that one so funny, but it was.

Also, the whole Becky thing  Does anyone know if we'll be seeing her again?

Oh, and of course Castiel = Gorgeous as always :adore:

The funniest line Dean said to Zach to me was the think about the walnuts and calling him ugly. It was just kind of random. Walnuts?

But, the line overall that made me laugh the hardest was the thing about Michael looking like Cate Blanchet.

Yes Lucifer is a fallen angel, but he is evil, if he wasnt his followers wouldnt be demons, not to mention hes the devil who is The Father Of Lies, so I dont expect him to tell the truth.

^^^ Oh yeah, totally. I get that interpretation, for sure. :)
But something tells me that Kripke will be playing a different angle with this version of the prince of darkness. He doesn't seem to like his characters to be that black and white... he plays around with shades of gray.

Although this could just be wishful thinking on my part- I think it would be far more interesting to have a devil who really thinks he's doing the right thing. ;)

But do you guys really think that "God" will make an appearance this season? I'm undecided, myself.

Yeah, defiantly gotta take in the fact that its a view of one human and a tv show lol so the truth will definatly be bent around a bit.

And as for the Godly appearance lol not quite sure, its hard to say and if he does probably wont be till like the very last episode of the season so we have to wait 4 months just to see what happens lol

And that's a big part of why I love him so much.

As for God, I agree that if she does make an appearance, it'll be only a short one at the end ;)
