"Still Life" discussion Thread **Beware Spoilers**

Warrick is just a sweetie!! (a very HOT sweetie!) He's a good daddy. And YAY to Nick for shaving the mustache! Don't know why, but when he had that mustache I just had to laugh... sorry!

And that scene where Grisson just "spills" his childhood memories. I was surprised as Cath -- just loved that look of surprise. i think I had that same look on my face too. I was so touched by Grissom ... I teared up a bit. Not for the childhood memory, but that Grissom just opened up like that... he found a moment to vulnerable for just a moment -- very touching.

That Kelly Gordon is not good news for Nick.

What a great episode! I haven't liked much of Season 6 (with the notable exception of Gumdrops) but this eppy restored my faith in the show. Apparantly "missing kids" seem to be their forte.

Warrick absolutely stole my breath away. I'm not normally a Warrick freak, but I think I'm converting... The man's a natural born leader. I liked how he just took over the case with Catherine. Sara and Greg just fell in line behind him. And I was very impressed with his interaction with Jesse/Adam. It was all very natural and well played.

Grissom's reveal felt kinda off to me. It was like a footnote to the actual storyline. Grissom's character in general this Season seems like a footnote to me. He's never really involved in the cases anymore, other than looking pensively with fingers pressed to lips in his office supposedly thinking deep thoughts.

In comparison, Nicky's little 2 second scene with Kelly was most definately a footnote, but held more tension in it's little glib of airtime than the entire hour. I absolutely don't blame Nicky for keeping his distance. First, it was kinda strange seeing her out of her orange prison garb. It was apprehensive. Knowing what her daddy did to Nicky, who in their right mind would go near him (leave the man in peace!). At first, when she reminds him about how he'd mention to "leave it behind", the shaky voice and tearful eyes... okay I can deal. Girl's apologizing/sympathizing/thanking. But then when she said "Perfect" the glint came back into her eyes and her evil twin had won the schizo battle in her mind. Watching from home, I was kinda terrified for Nicky. It's like seeing a ghost.

And now that it's gone, I kinda miss the pornstache. It had become the 6th member of the team. :)

Oh wow, what a riveting case. I felt really sorry for the grandpa not being able to see the kid for four years, but then it turns out there is no kid. o_O And the mother hallucinating at the end...chilling and heartbreaking at the same time.

Yay! Warrick got lots of screentime tonight. The guy seriously deserves it. I'm such a dork, but I was fascinated by his little "magic science kit" demonstration. I'd love to see him become a dad.

The scene with Greg and the guy cuddling his dog: Hee hee hee. Greggo is so cute! I just wanna ruffle his hair. :D

Grissom revealed more about himself in one scene than he has in five years. I thought he was done and then he just kept going. He sure shocked the hell out of Catherine, lol.
Lol, I too thought he was done. The whole thing starting with his dad being a botanist was so un-Grissom-like. I guess he's one of those people that when you draw them out, they just keep going. Catherine is such a great friend. She's really the only one who can open Grissom up like this.

That was really sad and I guess maybe that explains why he got into forensics. His father died and no one would tell him why, so he decided to dedicate his life to figuring out why?
Agreed. I love the way WP delivered the line "no one would tell me why" with sad resignation, but also a hint of Grissom's puzzle-solving obssession that we see when he's particularly worked up over a case. Did he choke up a little when he said that? He was also avoiding eye contact the whole time. So sad.

Again I thought the pacing was off...I liked the case...why not just have a case eppy, centered around oh my goodness. Warrick and Catherine and have one of those "fall back" cases where Nick's and Grissom's soft off "addtional" storylines could be fleshed out just a tad and the impact being broader?

I do agree with people who have said that the Kelly Gordon scene and the Grissom bit felt somewhat out of place. I think a big reason is that the case itself was so strong, it didn't need these subplots to keep it going. But whatever. I'm just happy tptb gave us any personal stuff at all before the dreaded holiday hiatus.

And the Kelly Gordon scene: Oh my. What is up with her? I'm even more confused now than I was at the end of "Grave Danger". Gotta give props to tptb for keeping us guessing!

I completely missed the "Perfect" connection even though I had just watched the ending of "Bodies in Motion" a couple times in preparation for this eppy. But then I was all hyped up during that scene I wasn't really digesting what was going on. Gosh, that was creepy.

Now that you guys mention it, I wish Sara (or Warrick) would've walked in on Nick and Kelly, too. Both of them have quite a temper, and - oh just imagine the angst! I hope at least one of them gets to meet Kelly some time in the near future. Come on tptb, how can you pass up something as juicy as this?!

ETA: The mustache was totally a Sweeps stunt.

ETAA:

LOL!

Hey, look out, Greggo fans are going to smite you for that. ;)

And ITA about the Kelly scene, sami!

ETAA: The bathroom is down the hall to the right from the interrogation room - same place it was in Season 2 ("Organ Grinder")! OMG Continuity!

i loved it!!!! reasons why...

-the story was very good, and involved all the characters nicely

-poor grissom :( it was so adorable that he just came out with it, you can tell that he was itching to tell someone, to reach out the cathrine about it, and he just kept going, i loved cathrine's expression, she had that little smile and surprise because he shared somthing personal and she was just so shocked that he went through something like that...i thought it was cute that his dad was a scientist, it seems so fitting

and he looked so sad when he was saying how know one would tell him why his dad wouldn't wake up :(

at first i thought it was a little out of place that he would just start talking about how his dad died, but then i realized throughout the ep, they kept mentioning jesse's dad died, all the time, so i think that affected him, reminding him how he lost his dad so young as well....

-the pornstash is gone!!! thank god, i can look at nick again without laughing...

-i like the karen gordon thing at the end, i am glad they are doing little bits of it at a time, it gives us little bits here and there...nice, i thought it was really creepy the way she said 'perfect', that probably was her on that tape...poor nick looked so scared!

-loved warrick in this ep, thought it was so cute, maybe him and tina will start a family...

Hello! Please where i can find the screencaps or clip of this episode?

I loved this episode!

I was just pleasantly surprised at Grissoms revealation to Catherine...and the look on her face was priceless! I hope they continue to do more of that, revealing bits and pieces about him. :)
Glad that Nick got rid of the 'stache- he's more handsome w/o it. :) I loved his reaction to Kelly Gordon...that should prove to be an interesting plot line...
I also loved the scenes between Warrick and the boy...'Rick was so sweet. :)
All in all, great episode...

loved this episode!! I thought it was interesting when Grissom opened up to Cath about his dad dying. And I agreed with Brass when he said he'll never understand how a mother can kill her own child. One thing though, I though the ending was a little abrupt, but I understand that they cant fit in every little detail into 1 hour. Overall, A+ episode and I'm LOVING Greg's hair!! It looks so cute shaggy. And it was absolutely heartwarming the way Warrick interacted with Adam! :D He's so good with kids. And the heavens rejoiced when Nick showed up sans the stache. And I cant wait for the continuation on the Kelly Gordon plotline. awesome job once again!!! :D

WHOOOHOOOOOOO THE MOUSTACHE IS GONE!!!!!!! OH YEAH, THE MOUSTACHE IS GONE!!!!!!!(dancing and singing around my cubicle) oh yeah the moustache is gone.
Thank You.

Oh!! in all my moustach excitement, I just have one observation about Greg that I have actually noticed the last few episodes, but more so last night.
Does anyone else think that Eric is not looking so hot these past couple of episodes? I don't know if it's the hair style or the make-up or wardrobe or what, but physically Eric doesn't look so good. I hate to make this observation, but the past couple of episodes, he looks like he is sick or something, because he's not looking so good during the episodes. Maybe it's just me, but I tend to pay attention to stuff like that. I hope Eric is ok.

Am I the only one who sees this, or is it truly me? Please tell me I am not crazy. Please tell me someone else out here on this site shares my concern.

Another great episode. As usual, I got fooled and thought that the "kidnapped" boy Jesse was either taken by the next-door neighbor or by the grandparents who were denied permission to see him. The writers of CSI are again to be commended for confusing viewers until the end. The only awkward part was when Nick was confronted by the blonde whose father kidnapped him last season. Evidently, she was out on parole. Next week, it seems is a rerun.

Yeah, I noticed. I don't know if he looks "sick" per se, but he does seem "off" to me lately--unhappy, bored, or perhaps depressed. Not sure what's going on, if it's somethng to do with the character (maybe leading to something in a future episode?) or with the actor. I'm surprised anyone noticed, what all the good stuff happening: Warrick's quality screen time; the newly clean-shaved Nick scene with Kelly Gordon; and Grissom's personal revelation scene with Catherine.
