Season 8 *Spoiler Lab* Discussion - Part 2

I, too, am pumped for this season...a heck of a lot more then last season. Of course all the spoilers and promos are the cause! Lots of possibilities that could and could not happen, I've seen enough to get a taste, but now I want more. Is it the 27th yet?

*crosses off another day on the calendar*

they made it seem like he was going to be important
like he's going to be involved in some way

wasn't he in the sandlot or something?

He is important because he provides surveilence tapes and they got a time line of Sara's dispearance, he's not involved just a witness to seeing Sara in the lot.

That promo was pretty cool, the "Oh No" at the end seems like it might be when they finally locate Sara.

That would also explain Nick's stress over the new position and the raft between him and Rick. I so don't buy that the marriage-problems are spillig over into his and Nick's relationship - they are guys after all.

According to TVguide Warrick becomes involved with old Vegas mobsters somehow, I wonder if this indicates his gambling habit returning. Therefore that could be a reason he and Nick are at odds.

i thought that was when the find her too. he sees something in the difference and it's after they find the car...
and as far as the security guard goes, it just seemed to me like maybe he had something to do w/ it.

I like the new promo. And I love how Ham from The Sandlot is in it. Do you think Grissom's "oh no" at the end was to him seeing Sara?

the pictures looks amazing!

the only thing i'm wondering is... why's warrick in the middle like that?

i heard the theory of: "dr. robbins and nick are for grs, cath, greg and brass arent, and warrick's in the middle." but i dont see that happening. i honestly think none of them will be for it. and if anything, i think nick would be REALLY not for it.

and sara coming out of the back ground, maybe she'll be in the hosptial for a while or not be there for all of season 8. not sure, but i'm loving the pic. they all look amazing. well, can't really see sara, (tried to blow it up, didn't work) but... i'm so excited! :D

I don't know that Cath would be against it. Isn't she the one who said he needed to "get his head out of the microscope", which lead to him sending her the plant?

I think you should re-watch 'weeping willows' and 'early roll out'...i hope she rips grissom a new one for being a hypocrite and a liar.

So Greg seems to be on the backburner this year? Like Nick and Warrick have been for 2. Why can't these writers find the balance? It worked up to S4 and was the concept that drew most viewers in. I can't believe they haven't figured out that the characters are all important.

And yes, I'd love to have it all about Nick and Warrick but ideally they should use all characters evenly, it really can't be that hard.

One of the important things that "shifted" as the series matured was the standard layout of the episodes. Almost all of the episodes in seasons 1 - 4 featured two cases. That allowed for the teaming up of the groups in sets of two or three to work on cases. So pretty much everyone had a part to play (the 5 main CSIs, plus each of the detective types on the police side). Split the lap work out, and you could pretty much get everyone involved at some point in every episode.

Then they started to do single case episodes, more personal stuff, more soap opera and less crime. When there is less case being featured, there is less chance to get the whole team in the game. So you have episodes where different characers are featured.

It has been one of the better features of the MK story arc combined with the Keppler deal: it essentially kept Grissom busy for most of the season, and opened up secondary cases for others to play with.

Why must there be a hidden meaning on the new promo/pic? maybe that's just the way the photographer wanted them too be! I like it, it's cool ;) I'm just glad that Sara is in it, if she wasn't coming back, would she be in a promo/ spread? and where's Sofia?

I'm wondering myself if his "oh no" scene is when the find the car or when they find Sara. Of course these scenes are usually out of context, so your are kind of mislead. Grissom could be saying "oh no" about something besides Sara. We will find out on Sept 27. Only thirteen days from now. I only ask that is is as good as the commercials leading up to it.

It is interesting how people can interpret a picture differently. The impression I get about the tv guide picture is it shows solidarity. Catherine is right by Grissom's side and the rest of the team is behind him. In the first episode the team will probably be more concerned with finding Sara than with the fact she slept with Grissom. The team may be more understanding than we would be about a subordinate and boss dating. They see murdered people everyday. Maybe a sexual relationship between boss and subordinate may not seem so horrible after you see murdered bodies all day. They may identify with the need for a romantic partner and not having the time to meet someone, because of work. Warrick and Catherine should especially be able to identify with this. They came awfully close to having an affair.

i dunno, haven't both cath and nick said something against dating someone at work? i think warrick would be okay with it, cause he's said stuff to that effect in the past...hopefully the "repercussions" they talk about won't be too bad from the team...it'll probably have to do w/ ecklie and the higher ups
all i can surely tell about the picture is that sara, although very small, is in it.
this makes me think she's still in the season, but maybe in some limited way!

well, I believe Cath said something about it when processing the scene in TGTBTD with Sara...but I say, who knows what would of happened had Warrick NOT married...

lol, oooh yeah, i feel you
haha
does anyone think those two might finally get their act together this season? or is it water under the bridge?

I don't think the team should be to hard on Grissom an Sara
Grissom has always backed them up when they have been in trouble. he recommended Nick for promotion over Sara so he can't be accused of favoritism.

Maybe everybody will follow their lead and pair off in the labs this season*. Then we can have a multiple wedding episode for the season finale :p

*Except Ecklie, of course.
