Season 7 Ratings

While putting aside any previous opinions on Season 7 so far, I had other thoughts.

I sometimes wonder if the ratings are because of the suspension of "Two and A Half Men" and some of that audience drifted over to CSI:NY. While not trying to go too far off-topic but Charlie Sheen truly messed everything up for the network, and likely jeopardized not only many crewmembers' jobs but also perhaps has brought TAAHM to a pre-mature demise. Good riddance to that gasbag.

If CSI:NY survives to Season 8, my guess is is that it could very well be because it might have gained audiences who are/were upset and angry at TAAHM's sudden cancellation. Congratulations Sheen. You just might have given CSI:NY a new lease on life! :D:rolleyes::lol::guffaw::p:rommie::lol::):guffaw::cool::lol::)

Maybe I'm just having my periodic anti-MK flair-up at the moment but for now, both Kanakaredes and Sheen have, in my mind, have been tossed off the moving train!:beer::hugegrin::mad::angryrazz::angryrazz::cool::rolleyes::p:angryrazz::angryrazz: The former will eventually regain her place in my world, the latter can disperse with the wind.

I don't really see rabid fans of a half hour comedy tuning into a crime drama in the 9 PM Friday slot because said comedy stopped production. That makes no sense whatsoever.

I honestly don't see the relation between the two shows. One is a comedy that airs on Mondays, the other being a drama airing at 9pm on Fridays. NY has been churning out good storylines this season, and obviously word of mouth is spreading. In my opinion, the ratings have nothing to do with Sheen.

i agree. But I will say that I'm glad Sheen's show is done. It was nasty

NY's ratings last Friday are adjusted UP in the finals. From Travis Yanan:

7.16 'The Untouchable'
CSI: NY
- 10.890 million viewers
- 6.8/12 HH
- 1.8/6 A18-49

Friday's re-run of Sangre Por Sangre brought 8.67 million viewers and a 1.4 in the 18/49 rating.

Pretty good for a repeat!!!

A repeat of NY did better than a new episode of The Defenders an hour earlier - that doesn't automatically make the numbers good, but they're certainly much better than the other networks. I really don't think you can be too disappointed with 8+ million viewers for a repeat on a Friday. I'm not entirely optimistic about NY's chances for getting another season, but I'd like to think there's still at least a slim chance...

Also, according to Marc Berman, NY's numbers went up at the half hour (unlike Blue Bloods, which went down):

CSI: NY (R)
9:00 p.m. - V: 8.46 m (#1), A18-49: 1.3/ 5 (#2)
9:30 p.m. - V: 8.88 m (#1), A18-49: 1.4/ 5 (#2)

That repeat did almost as good as a what a new episode of Fringe did in recent weeks. That show receives a LOT of buzz and is a favorite of many TV fansites. I'm happy NY is beating it every week!

Yeah Fringe is a good show and I watch it too, but online. Mac gets my full attention on Friday ;)
