Extended promo for "CSI On Fire."

'CSI' Enlists 'Greek's' Spencer Grammer, 'Nurse Jackie's Lenny Jacobson (Exclusive)

Meanwhile, tennis stars Chris Evert and Lindsay Davenport will join commentator Justin Gimelstob in a January episode of the CBS drama.

CBS' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is going behind the scenes at a TV news station.

Greek's Spencer Grammer and Nurse Jackie's Lenny Jacobson to guest star on the long-running procedural, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Grammer, whose credits also include As the World Turns, will play Ella, a pretty, intelligent, driven and ambitious field reporter.

Jacobson, who plays EMT Lenny on the Showtime dramedy, will play a somewhat off, socially awkward yet honest, innocent and likable lighting technician at the news station's studio.

They'll appear in the appropriately titled "Dead Air" episode.

In addition, tennis stars Chris Evert and Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Davenport will join commentator Justin Gimelstob for a January episode, the network announced Friday.

They'll play themselves in an episode when the CSI team investigates the death of a female tennis player.

The discussion thread for "CSI on Fire" is now up. All discussion relating to that episode should now be done here. :)

CBS SCHEDULES ‘CSI’ AND ‘CSI: NY’ CROSSOVER

The first ever CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: NY crossover is in the works, CSI Files has learned.

The two-part installment will air in early February. Discussions on the potential crossover have taken place over the past few months, with the production scheduling logistics the main concern. Those scheduling conflicts have been worked out. This marks the first direct crossover for CSI and NY, who have only shared a brief connection during the Trilogy event that took place with CSI, the now defunct CSI: Miami and CSI: NY during 2009.

Ted Danson (CSI‘s DB Russell) and Gary Sinise (NY‘s Mac Taylor) will be the two stars to crossover. The Las Vegas installment will air Wednesday, February 6 with Mac arriving in Vegas to surprise his girlfriend Christine (Megan Dodds), only to learn that she is now missing. With her hotel room a crime scene, Taylor teams up with Russell and the rest of the Vegas CSIs in an investigation that will bring Russell to NY on February 8. The case gets personal for Taylor as he wrestles with breaking police protocol in an effort to find the kidnappers and determine whether is girlfriend is still alive.

New co-executive producer Rick Eid will pen the Vegas portion, titled “In Vino Veritas,” which is episode thirteen. Louis Milito will direct the episode, which goes behind camera the first week in December.

Stay tuned to CSI Files as we find out more details…

Oh my! Wasn't expecting this

If the storyline is good and DB and Finn aren't the only ones that go or whatever I am all for it :)

It just says DB goes to NY.

Yet another family/friend in danger. Yay boy. And Danson....well, he's certainly earned a crossover episode, hasn't he?

It was only a matter of time before Christine was injured/in danger. I knew it was gonna happen. It'll be fun to see DB with the NY team though.

And I still have no desire to see the Without a Trace part of that crossover or the NY or Miami parts of the triple crossover! :(
