*Can someone quote me the part about Liz saying that someone will leave the show? i can't remember where that was....

Here it is

and I’m not giving any hint and I don’t know a thing about it–but I think the very next thing is a certain character’s gonna be written off in a way where there’s no possibility of them ever coming back.

Cheers Speedystokesgirl was that in the interview with Liz Vassey or Liz Devine? I guess that could be Langston or Brass (or maybe even SuperDave!?) that is written off permanently.

I thought she meant Ray, given the way the season finale went. Given that we know that he's a murderer (even if nobody but Brass ever learns it on the show), could he ever be accepted back on the show by viewers, other than Ray fanatics?

PS: It was Liz Vassey.

Now what do we have to do to get Shane to find out who has renewed their contract? I hate this not knowing and can't understand why they keep it such a secret.

I mean if someone isn't renewing, we'll find out anyways so just let us know. :scream:

Ok i just re-read the Liz interview about 6 times and still can't see that quote!

....Anyway, forgetting my momentary blindness/stupidity, this might just be another moment when the character leaving could be anybody or nobody (i.e mayor goodman - or whatever his names is). Although, Smokey, Vartann might be a good shout - especially with Catherine/Marg leaving.

Edit: Just found the quote, i guess i didn't notice it cos it didn't seem like she was talking about the present situation - my money's on Superdave or Hodges

Here's my prediction of what happens:

1) Ray resigns in a cloud of suspicion - there's no hard evidence to prove what he did (thanks to Brass) but at the same time he's lost the trust of everyone around him. (Kind of in the same way Elle Greenaway was written out of Criminal Minds)
2) The new guy comes in as an interim supervisor or consultant to clean-up the shit-storm Ray leaves in his wake. He's assigned to investigate the team (the way Doggett was assigned to investigate Mulder's disappearance, only to be end up assigned to the unit he was investigating)
3) Catherine probably comes to realize that further career advancement is going to be impossible and chooses to resign and start working in the casino empire, but she agrees to stay on until her replacement can be recruited and trained.
4) The new guy finds at least a bit of blame for everyone during his investigation, but nothing that would be a career-killers, just career-stallers. He concludes that none of the CSIs have done anything to warrant termination, but there's going to be some red marks on their records and that it will take a long time for the general public to forget about recent events.
5) Ecklie decides that maybe the graveyard shift has become a little bit too close knit and decides that an outsider's perspective is needed in order to restore their credibility and makes the new guy the permanent supervisor. The team views him as an interloper but he quickly wins them over with his quirky personality and fine investigative skills, and tries to steer them back to their roots as scientists first and law-enforcement personnel a distant second.
6) Brass sees the writing on the wall and begins to think about retirement, but decides to stay around a little while longer to make sure that then new guy doesn't have some sort of secret agenda.

Sounds good to me :)

That sounds brilliant! If that happens I will be a very happy person. Your point "5" could explain the arrival of his daughter to the team too :D

:lol:I agreee, Laurence Fishburne called it quits on June 8, over a month ago. What is the big secret, if we know Danson is coming on, why can't they reveal who else has signed up?:confused:And LF isn't sitting around crying the blues. he did say "he wanted to return to making movies", and he has. This is the "spoiler" thread so here's what he's doing now, and good luck to him:bolian:He's making a movie in Detroit, called "Have A Little Faith" how apropo. And thank's to Robin for the link:). And I saw a clip of "Contagion" last night on ET with him and Matt Damon, release date, Oct. 2011~

LF's NEW MOVIE

I don't think the writers of this article (about Ted Danson) know what they are talking about. It says he will be the new supervisor but It also says he was hired to take over Ray's position - Ray was not supervisor therefore I don't think his character will be either.

It's a fine line on this one. He was hired as "LF's replacement" not his position, meaning the new star of the show. A bitter pill to swallow, and Langston was NOT a supervisor, but from all accounts TD will be:confused:

It won't be Super Dave, he's a researcher for the show and I believe is related to Josh Berman

Super Dave is Josh Berman's brother. Close as it gets.

If LVPD has hired a new night shift supervisor and he is ready to go in episode one, then the decision must have been made by the department months before. (I'm thinking in a real-world frame. Please humor me, I know that the CSI franchise flies at some distance above our humble reality.) A job posting, applications filed, interviews, the new hire giving at least 30 days notice, etc., are all part of the search and can take a long time. So, if the IA investigation is still on-going, Haskell's murder can't be the reason. When and why did LVPD decide move Catherine up, down or sidewise? Max Pointy's suggestion that the new character is called in to investigate the team has the problem that this is IA's job and they're on it.
Will TPTB invoke a fourth dimension worm-hole to make it come together? Or just ignore the gaping plot holes as usual.

Danson is coming in as Supervisor.

The official announcement from CBSPressExpress/com

LOS ANGELES - July 12, 2011 — Multiple Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Ted Danson will join the cast of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, in a series regular role, on the CBS Television Network. His character will debut in the season premiere on Wednesday, September 21 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

Danson will play the new CSI Supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland. He comes to the team as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season's take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell.

---------------

From who Extra says offers went out to it sounds more like they were interested more in his comedic roles than in his dramatic roles.

Offers reportedly went out to Tony Shaloub, Robin Williams and John Lithgow before the part went to Danson,

Catherine probably comes to realize that further career advancement is going to be impossible and chooses to resign and start working in the casino empire, but she agrees to stay on until her replacement can be recruited and trained.
It would be interesting to see Catherine leave the crime lab and become the new Sam Braun. In her role as the new boss Catherine would still make appearances whenever a murder or crime happens at one of her casinos (and lord knows, they do), she could still interact with the team, and it would give Marg the reduced time she seems to want.

Never heard of Ted Danson. But anyway it's nice to know tptb is bringing in an EXPERIENCED CSI to take over the show. He's going to get a lot of good material (being supervisor) on the show might as well make him on top of his career.
