Season 11 "Spoiler Lab" Discussion Part 4

While I, too, want Cath to walk off into the sunset of casino management, if she was blown up real good she technically wouldn't have to leave in a body bag.

Or she could be alive but walk out of the lab in a body bag, kinda like how you cocoon yourself in your sleeping bag and hop.

Speaking purely as a Cath fan i'm slightly nervous about all these lose ends that need to be dealt with e.g. haskell and sqweegel. Both in terms of Cath being the target and whether we'll get a Cath-centric episode before she leaves.

If this really is her last season i expected us to of had more of a build up to it than we have this season, maybe she'll end up taking both Sqweegel and Haskell down :)

Marg has stated time and again that she doesn't want Catherine to die, so I'm sure she will just walk off into the sunset.

Actually, I think she'll take over the Braun Empire. I think that's they way it should be handled and it leaves it open for her to come back to visit. ;)

She could consult you know. ;)

FWIW, they still put all the bitty pieces of blown up people into body bags. Just saying!

That would make the most sense - and they did bring it up in Wild Life, so maybe starting to lay the foundation for it.

I keep wondering how many cast members can leave before CBS gives the whole show the ax.

I know that Marg said, on a radio interview, [before she announced she was leaving] that she could see the show going on for years. But who is going to sign on for S/12? any news on that, or is it way too soon?

That's true if they get the right replacements in the ensemble. I just hope they are able to realize when things have run their course and declare a final season so we get a proper send-off...maybe even WP and MH coming back at the end. I'd hate to see it crash and burn and find out midseason that it isn't coming back.

Plenty of shows have lasted with revolving cast members. The main ones that come to mind are Law and Order and ER. Yeah, the ratings and demographics drop, but there still is that draw that brings people in for the nostalgia factor. I don't see the show ending anytime soon, especially for it still leading in viewers in it's 11th season.

I thought I read/heard somewhere that episode 23 was going to be called Wind and the Willows. So does this mean that Cath's farewell is going to separate from Squeegie or whatever his name is? I really hope so, because I'd rather Marg get a fair and strong exit rather than it being a back story of "By the way, I'm peacing out of here, good luck catching him!"

As for how she leaves, I'm really hoping that it's the casino route. We've seen burnout and death, and I'd love to see her go do something that she really likes and knows she will be good at. Plus, I feel like this opens the door for a one time return way down the road. Imagine how the team (Nick, Greg, and Sara, if Jorja is sticking around this time) would react if a body turned up at her casino. Imagine the "like father/like daughter" implications. They could also go to her for advice on a case. Plus Vartann could either stay or go, too.

We'll see, though. It's just so hard to believe that in less than three months Marg will be off the show. :(

Really?!

SWEET!!

The article does say that CBS hasn't confirmed anything, but I hope it's true. It won't be as much fun without Petersen, but I love Clarke regardless. Heather hasn't had much interaction with the others outside Cath and Brass (I hope Brass features in this!), but I wouldn't mind seeing her get into the heads of Ray or Nick.

Hmmmm, maybe if Catherine ends up taking over her father's casino she brings in Lady Heather to be in charge of guest relations. :p

Episode 19 of this season ("Unleashed") features Sara & Langston investigating the death of a social worker with a psychological fetish which may have killed her (Anthony E. Zuiker says it involves "Human pets") I think this may be the lady Heather episode :D

You're probably right, but it still sounds like 'squicky' fan fic to me.
