Season 11 "Spoiler Lab" Discussion Part 2

ETA: Following my own advice, I'd like to add...am I the only one who does NOT want to see Haskell anymore? I thought he was creepy, yes, but I'd like for them to move on to new stories, not revisit old ones over and over again.

I'm with you. This will be the 3rd year in a row that we've had to deal with Haskell. The more we see him the less creepy he is. It's getting to the point that we know him too good. I'd love to see a season right now where there's no continued later in the season and no serial killer to be solved in another episode. What's wrong with 23/24 episodes where the crime is solved in the alotted 43/44 minutes?

Susan

Agreed! While Bill Irwin did a great job as Haskell, in my opinion, the character and story line itself, is getting old. Move on to something fresh. Something that will peak the interest of the CSI viewer. Something that hasn't been done yet. All you have to do is look at the local papers from various cities to get ideas.

Plus, hearing that Marg Helgenberger has decided to end her long run as Catherine Willows this season, Mendelsohn says she plans to "start begging on my knees as the season progresses. No one ever leaves the CSI family, so we'll see."
Funny how she and company, has no problem booting others though.

I am looking forward to seeing Haskell again, he's my personal fave serial killer, just so creepy.

IMO I think everyone had to take a pay cut in order to keep golden boy Fishburn. Bye Wendy, bye Catherine, hello Ray who not many fans like anyway. CSI execs have no clue.

Episode 11x2 is called Pool Shark. According to the site that cannot be named.

Regarding Haskell: While I do agree that CSI needs to freshen up its storylines and stop recycling old plots (only Star Trek can get away with that ) I can't help but cheer. I have a penchant for creepy serial killers, and Bill Irwin plays the part so well. Tons better than that serial-wannabee Jekyll.

Regarding Langston's wife: So it's not enough that he had the angry father, now they have to introduce the wife as well? What the hell? The newbie gets two arcs dedicated to his family life and series regular Greg gets about two lines? :angryrazz: I can't be happy with this news knowing that Langston is getting everything Greggo isn't.

Well, now see....that's another problem I have with Haskell. Bringing him back time after time will always mean it has something to do with Ray. I'm all for learning more about Ray's character, but maybe they could find a more original way to do it. And while they're at it, how about delving a little more into some of the other characters' lives?

Just a little update here. Liz, just posted, not to long ago, over on FB that she completed a goodbye scene (today) which is to air in episode 2.

Hi. I wanted to let all of you know that I was asked to go shoot a goodbye scene in episode 2, and I did it today. It was incredibly painful to do, but I'm glad I did. I had my Wally and my Wellner, so I couldn't ask for more.
At least, if nothing else, there'll be some sort of closure or explanation to her characters disappearance. Unlike past characters that didn't have the same opportunity. Personally, I hope the scene left room for a possible return in the future. Even if it's a one shot deal.

So glad to hear that! We actually get some closure for Wendy's character. I will still miss her but now I feel a bit better about her exit.

well, at least it didn't sound like she was on the autopsy table then. I guess that's one bright spot with her departure.

I am not thrilled with them bringing back Haskell either. Haskell is all about Ray's character and so once again that means tons of focus on him. I am in agreement that we need to dive a little more into characters like Greg, who's been there from day one and yet we've never seen a single family member of his. It's almost like he is just making them all up. And does the guy even date anymore? Seriously, these spoilers are not making me look forward to the season too much.

That is nice they gave Wendy a goodbye scene...means the door must be left open somehow for her.

It's all a projection. A dream within a dream.

Yes, I watched 'Inception' less than 12 hours ago actually. But the point is: Yay. More Ray. Even Grissom didn't get that much.

Again, no offense to Ray's fans, just venting my frustration that TPTB is once again putting the focus on one character more than the other. But then again, it's also only the beginning of the season... they might still be able to surprise us.

At least tptb aren't pulling another Sophia, they gave Liz a more proper goodbye, that gives me a little closure but I'll probably cry watching that scene :(

Plus we know the sencondary cast hasn't completely vanished...yet

Greg, who's been there from day one and yet we've never seen a single family member of his.

Greg isn't from LV though, so it does kinda make sense we don't see his family. That said, I totally agree with "less Ray more Greg" (and others).

Haskell is well-acted, very creepy, a good villain.. but for goodness sakes, the guy is already in jail. How much more can he DO?

Granted, however, we got to see Nick's parents in GD and they do not live in Vegas. We only got Greg to mention his parents. :(
I mean people visit their family and vice versa. I know I visit my parents and siblings and they visit me and we live far apart.

I wonder what they will use as reason for the goodbye... I hope (as some already stated in earlier posts) it is something that leaves possibilities... if not ... well anywayz .... she's back for a moment....it's more than nothing....

I will definitely cry.... (young kittens en puppies already causing tears...I'm hopeless sentimental)
