Gosh, can you imagine the confusion? Lilly, Lora, Lori...Yikes.
I think the two will do for now, Lora. Sorry. *hugs*
Anni, you'd make a great therapist to say the least.
And thanks for the reviews!

Two hours later, layout room
Ryan: *walks in* Hey what are you working on?
Lori: The rest of my paperwork. It's quiet in here.
Ryan: Mind if I stay?
Lori: *smiles* Why, you run out of work?
Ryan: I'm on break.
Lori: Have a seat.
Ryan: *sits*
Lori: *writing*
Ryan: *stares at Lori* ...Are you really leaving tomorrow?
Lori: Mhm.
Ryan: Why?
Lori: I have to get back to work and my house.
Ryan: So...What happens to us?
Lori: *shrugs*
Ryan: *grabs folder*
Lori: *looks at Ryan*
Ryan: What's going on?
Lori: I can't stay here, I need to get back. That's what's going on. Besides, it was one date. It's not like we're picking out china. You'll get over it.
Ryan: Do you treat everyone like this?
Lori: I don't see the point in sugar-coating everything. I say what I mean.
Ryan: You could let people off little easier.
Lori: Why? It won't change what I'm trying to say.
Ryan: And what are you trying to say, exactly?
Lori: That some things just don't work out.
Ryan: You knew you were leaving and you went out with me anyway.
Lori: So what do you want me to do? Stay here, be in some sort of relationship and then when we have a fight, I have permission to leave? Who says we're even going to have a second or third date?
Ryan: I'm not trying to control you, Lori. I'm not your father.
Lori: *frowns* What are you talking about?
Ryan: It seems like all he wants to do is keep you bubble-wrapped and locked up.
Lori: Ryan, he's not the best father in the world and frankly a lot of the things he does makes him seem more like a cop than a dad, but his heart seems to be in the right place so don't knock him for it.
Ryan: I'm sorry.
Lori: ...I wish we could have had a second date though.
Ryan: Really?
Lori: *smiles* Yeah.
Ryan: *smiles*
DNA LAb
Calleigh: Hey Valera, do you have the results off the napkin?
Valera: I compared the epithelials from the napkin to a reference sample we got from Ethan. They're not a match.
Calleigh: So he was keeping more kids there.
Valera: Looks that way.
Hall
Horatio: *looking down at cellphone*
Calleigh: *walks over* Valera found an unidentified sample of DNA on the napkin recovered from Ernest's apartment.
Horatio: I just recieved a call from Yelina. Someone found a body in a park downtown. It's a little boy.
Calleigh: ...Bad news.
Horatio: Mhm. But PD found a man matching Ernest's description at a hospital downtown as well, so they're bringing him in.
Calleigh: You going to talk to him?
Horatio: I will. You and Ryan get down to the scene.
Calleigh: Will do.
Interrogation
Horatio: *places hands on hips* Sticks and stones may break bones, isn't that right Ernest?
Ernest: *frowning*
Horatio: Evidently 20 foot falls do as well. That's why you were in the hospital, correct?
Ernest: Some lady ran over my foot with her mini van.
Horatio: Speed.
Speed: Empty your pockets.
Ernest: Why?
Horatio: Becauase we said so.
Ernest: *empties pockets*
Speed: *grabs napkin* Bob's Greasy Burger.
Ernest: So?
Speed: So it's the same one we found in your apartment.
Ernest: I eat out, is that a crime?
Horatio: It is when you have children with you and they don't belong to you.
Ernest: I didn't have any kids.
Speed: A little boy was found in your apartment after you ran.
Ernest: I didn't know he was there.
Speed: ...You want to...Swear on a bible about that or something?
Ernest: *rolls eyes*
Speed: *places paper on table*
Ernest: What's that?
Speed: Trace found on the napkin. Sunscreen. It probably came off of the face that was using the napkin.
Ernest: So?
Speed: It's children's sunscreen.
Ernest: Maybe I don't like the harsher brands.
Horatio: Another child turned up dead and if he's wearing the same sunscreen we found on the napkin, you're in some trouble. You understand?
Ernest: Am I free to go?
Speed: No. Give me your wallet.
Ernest: What do you need my wallet for? *grabs wallet, throws it on table*
Speed: *picks up wallet, looks inside*
Horatio: You keep pictures, Ernest?
Ernest: No. I don't even own a computer.
Speed: *tilts head*
Horatio: Find something?
Speed: *looks at Ernest* You have a girlfriend?
Ernest: No.
Speed: Boyfriend?
Ernest: *sigh* No, why?
Speed: *throws wallet on table* You want to explain those?
Ernest: What, you don't have those in your wallet?
Speed: *glaring*
Horatio: Ernest, this is not looking good for you.
Ernest: All you have is a bunch of circumstantial evidence against me. Can I go?
Horatio: You're going to holding for the next 24 hours.
Ernest: Why?
Horatio: Evading the police. Get up.
Patrol cop walks in, takes him away
Speed: H.
Horatio: We need more than this to get him. We need to get that body examined.
Speed: *nods*
Crime Scene
Calleigh: Hey Alexx.
Alexx: Hey Calleigh.
Calleigh: So what's the verdict?
Alexx: Besides guilty?
Calleigh: *smiling*
Alexx: Multiple contusions on the victim, ripped clothing. Looks like he was trying to get away.
Calleigh: Any other physical findings?
Alexx: I checked, and nothing.
Calleigh: He was one of the lucky ones.
Alexx: Mhm.
Calleigh: How old do you think he is?
Alexx: I'd say in between 6 and 7 years old.
Calleigh: I'll try and track down his parents.
Ryan: *walks over* Hey Calleigh, you should see this.
Near alley, dumpster
Ryan: *kneels, shines flashlight* What do you think, the driver hit it?
Calleigh: Paint transfer tells us someone did. *looks over at park and back over at dumpster* It's pretty close to the body's location.
Ryan: You think maybe there was an altercation inside the vehicle?
Calleigh: Could have caused him to swerve, the kid jumps out of the car, runs, and gets murdered.
Ryan: *scrapes dumpster*
Calleigh: *looks down at ground* Tread marks indicate it's a larger vehicle.
Ryan: A truck?
Calleigh: I think I've seen those treads somewhere, but I don't know where...
Ryan: Ernest was picked up at the hospital, you think his vehicle's there?
Calleigh: Eric's there now getting a statement from the doctors. I'll call him and see if he can check it out.
Hospital, ten minutes later
Delko: *holding phone to ear* Yeah I've got his vehicle.
Calleigh: What kind of vehicle is it?
Delko: It's a Ford Explorer.
Calleigh: ...Our tread patterns are too wide for that.
Delko: There isn't any paint transfer on the vehicle anywhere. Either he didn't drive this vehicle or someone else killed the kid.
Calleigh: Okay. *sigh*
Delko: *closes phone*
A/V Lab, one hour later
Calleigh: *sits* Okay Cooper, run those specs.
Cooper: *laughs* Yes ma'am. *typing*
Calleigh: *staring at screen* Where's Tyler?
Cooper: I don't know, probably getting a coffee or something.
Calleigh: You sent him away for coffee?
Cooper: This lab isn't big enough for the both of us.
Calleigh: *smirks* Well, you could share.
Computer beeps
Cooper: Got a match. I'll pull it up. *types*
Calleigh: *drinks coffee*
Cooper: Here we are. Tread patterns are a match to GMC Hummer.
Calleigh: *places coffee on table* Hummer. You sure?
Cooper: Yeah, H2.
Calleigh: *sigh* ...Okay. Thank you. *stands, leaves*
Halls
Horatio: Talk to me.
Calleigh: Tread marks are from a Hummer.
Horatio: *looks at Calleigh* Interesting.
Calleigh: Ernest drives a Ford, it's nowhere near a match.
Alexx: *walks over* Horatio.
Horatio: You got time of death?
Alexx: In between 2 and 3 pm.
Calleigh: Ernest was already brought in during that time.
Horatio: Okay could he have possibly been killed and then picked up?
Alexx: Your guys picked him up at 2, so he would have had to be really fast or he didn't do it.
Calleigh: Where was he picked up?
Horatio: Hospital.
Calleigh: Then he couldn't have killed him. Maybe he had a partner?
Horatio: I'm not about to cut him loose just yet. Tell you what, let's go talk to him again.
Interrogation room
Ernest: You have any actual evidence yet?
Horatio: Tell me something Ernest, why were you in that apartment?
Ernest: I came to Miami for a vacation and I rented a place.
Horatio: Did you come down with anyone?
Ernest: Like kids? No way.
Horatio: How about adults. Anyone go with you?
Ernest: What, besides Josh?
Horatio: *blinks* Josh.
Ernest: Yeah. We got here together.
Horatio: That is not the story I heard. Excuse me. *leaves*
PD
Yelina: *looking at files*
Horatio: Have you seen Josh around?
Yelina: No, I thought he went home.
Horatio: *dials phone* ...Carly. Is Josh there?
Carly: No, he said he had to run into work. Why?
Horatio: We have a problem.
Outside
Josh: *closes Hummer door*
Delko: *walks over* Hey man.
Josh: Hey.
Delko: *opens truck door*
Josh: You off?
Delko: Nah, I have to get to another scene. I stopped by here to grab some supplies for my kit. I thought you went home, what are you doing here with a Hummer?
Josh: ...I uh...Borrowed it this morning, thought I'd return it.
Delko: Oh, I'll give you a ride home if you want.
Josh: No that's okay.
Delko: You sure?
Josh: Yeah.
Delko: So how's Ethan?
Josh: He's fine.
Delko: Just fine?
Josh: Yeah.
Delko: *looks at Hummer* You know, you'll have to pay for that.
Josh: *looks at Hummer*
Delko: You must have hit a curb or something.
Josh: Must've.
Delko: *walks over to Hummer* What do you say I take a look inside, make sure you didn't damage anything else. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble with H. Especially with his Hummers.
Josh: That's okay.
Delko: No, it's alright. I hit curbs all the time. *opens door* ...Got some blood on the seat.
Josh: *staring at Eric*
Delko: Passenger side. Must have been a pretty big curb.
Josh: Yeah.
Delko: *reaches over* Got a blonde hair here. You don't look like the blonde type. *turns around* You want to explain what's going on?
Josh: I'm not saying another word.
Delko: Then I'm going to have to arrest you.
