Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

oh God. that's not good. well, every show had a really low rating so we can confidently say it was Thanksgiving's fault but i'll still wait for the official numbers.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

I've seen numbers like those before - they're usually just tabulating the 18-49s. I have a hard time believing that the number one and two shows of the night didn't get over 20 million.

haaa this the guy don't explain!!! make all difference!!
i'm crazy for REAL numbers
what was the number last year?

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

about 25 million. It dropped roughly 11% because of Thanksgiving, and that was without any real competition.

I think the reason we have no hard numbers is because none of them want to admit how much their ratings dropped by cramming all of these shows into one timeslot.

Here is the translation of that article:

Thursday! (23/11)

The night of thanksgiving of the U.S.A. knocked down, and very, the hearing of the series that are going to be the biggest of the week. CSI was seen by around 17,13 millions while Grey' s Anatomy was seen by 18,46 millions. Neither compares to the numbers of previous weeks.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

actually most weeknights have numbers like that for the number one and two shows of the night.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Okay, folks - it's been confirmed by a second source, so unfortunately, here are the results for last week: Note: These are NOT the final, hard numbers. But it is important to say that these two were crowned the top two shows of the night - so viewership was WAY down.

I guess people just weren't that interested in finding out about the "secret" from Catherine's past...

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

that's very, VERY low. but again, like i said, both shows had it damn low so it's fair to say it wasn't CSI's/GA's fault itself, more b/c of the Thanksgiving.

i'm sure they'll recoved greatly next week though.

so, sarah, you want a banner? lol

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

lmao! Um... yay?

But yeah - I get what you mean. The other thing was Deal or No Deal's two hour special. Then you had the Office...

I mean, it was a FULL night. And people weren't in the mood for big decisions or heavy drama or gore. It's a shame - I thought last week was pretty good, but it didn't quite hold my interest the way others this season have.

Sad that Roger Daltry's contribution didn't draw new faces, but *shrug*.

I think those two will be somewhere near the bottom of the chart for this week.

Oh well - who wins the reruns this week will be interesting to see. Since a few people commented that Grey's had run the same one once already, and CSI's had come from Season 6 - I dunno - a new Grey's rerun vs. a Season 7 CSI re-run (Toe Tags). That's one I'll probably tune in for.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

oh wow, i didnt think it would be that low! :( i guess there was a lot on, plus football. people who may not always watch football on thursdays may do it on thanksgiving. i know my dad missed csi for football, but was sad he missed it when i told him roger daltry was on. he just asked me to keep an eye out for when it repeats and let him know :)

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Yeah - I chalk it up to, ultimately, just too many programs on at the same time on a night when people don't traditionally watch too much TV other than football.

*shrug*

OH-kay - to get a head start - does anyone want to start laying bets for December 7th? Since it was my contest, I feel a bit silly with it, but I do want to showcase the lovely banner that Adzix made. It could be YOURS. lol.

Nah - sometimes a little game is just fun.

Having said that, I'm going to guess that with the return of the MCSK, Loco Motives will get 25 million viewers.

Last year the numbers rose pretty high after Dog Eat Dog - and that was for Still Life, which I thought was pretty boring.

Still Life also ended up being the highest-rated episode of the year with over 30 million viewers.

So yeah - 25 million is going to be my guess.

Any other takers?

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Nielsen releases the official numbers on its website the following Wednesday of each week. I'm a broadcasting major so I guess if u have anymore questions regarding the ratings and such I could help. Anyways, I look for Grey's to begin to fade away soon, I think a couple weeks ago when CSI topped Grey's was just a preview of things to come

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but... is it a repeat of CSI this week with a new Grey's and then next week it's reversed?

I'd be VERY interested to see what kinds of numbers both shows pull in when they're unchallenged by each other.

I think the networks may have purposefully set this up to see which one really is the bigger ratings draw.

Also, I think Deal or No Deal is moving to 8pm instead of back at 9 (the two-hour special notwithstanding) which means, essentially, that from January on (unless they do the smart thing and move) it'll be Grey's vs. CSI till the finales.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

G.A: "Don't stand close to me" New
