Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

What I don’t get is why Gray’s had their show on twice. Once on Thursday then the SAME show on again on Friday? Did anyone else notice that they never said if Gray’s ever won Friday nights? I mean come on, if this show is so wonderful, why didn’t it win its Friday slot too?

It wouldn’t surprise me if they had to add the two viewers ship totals together just to beat CSI. Gary Dourdan was right the critics do hate them. Maybe it’s because they are not a night time soap opera, and they don’t use the same story lines over and over.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Okay the poll above will remain open until Saturday the 26th. So that everyone can try to get in their votes regarding this thread and when it will go to the next (ie part 2). :)

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

For a show that's losing viewers, according to those percentages, CSI still hits above the 20 million viewership mark quite often. Just an observation. I don't really pay attention to Grey's. Only if my roommate is discussing it with her friends and expressing how stupid it was, yet they still watch it. It boggles my mind!

It's probably got more to do with liking the characters on Grey's over the less than stellar storylines. *shrugs*

If I'm halfway through a book, even if it's awful, but the beginning was good and now I'm hooked, I keep reading.

I think the same is true of the very pissed off Grey's fans. Unfortunately for them, I think that their new spinoff is more likely to split the audience than double it. While GA may have had a few cliffhangers of its own, it's still a little like reading a teen soapy book (I am, for reasons unknown to even myself, addicted to the Georgia Nicholson books). Every one will end on a cliffhanger, but in a lot of ways you're starting "fresh" each year. You can choose whether or not you still find it fun when it picks up in fall.

I have no idea what CSI's cliffhanger will do for the show. I quite enjoyed the episode, so long as I viewed it as a half of an episode, but until I see the second part, I don't really know how I feel about it as a whole.

Will people tune in to see what happens next, or is there just a section of the population who, for whatever reason, has just stopped watching CSI? (Live, at least).

While these last few numbers, especially the ones for the Lady Heather episode, were interesting, I think it's the first few episodes of Seasons 8 for CSI and 4 for Grey's respectively that will be of greater interest.

I personally do not believe that GA will continue to beat CSI next year. They very well may, but my gut is that a lot of people will give up on Grey's over the summer and potentially try out Addison's new show instead.

Final numbers for the season are out, and CSI spends yet another year as television's number one scripted show:

Zap2it Season Ratings

On a personal note, I'm really hoping for awards for this year. One controversial storyline aside, I think that it blew Season 6 out of the water and we had more consistently interesting stories than in any other season.

Again, personal opinion.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

i watch grey's anatomy but csi comes first. it's a new show and it's getting a lot of buzz...csi is older so it also is that they have to work harder to keep their audience.

but no mattter what.... csi is my sanity

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

From TV Guide online:

CBS, Fox Each "Win" 2006-07 TV Season

As the TV season officially draws to a close tonight, the Eye and Fox each stand poised to claim victory. As detailed by Variety, CBS will have netted a fourth straight win in adults 25-54 and a fifth consecutive crown in total viewers, while Fox boasts the No. 1 and 2 programs (American Idol and... American Idol) and the top spot in the super-coveted 18-49 demo.

ABC's claim to fame for the season gone by is a No. 2 finish in 18-49 (if, that is, sports aren't factored in), and it's the sole net to improve upon last year's May-sweeps tallies.

NBC... well, it lays claim to Heroes, the season's top-rated new series, while the CW, that great "best of" UPN-WB netlet, finished behind (mucho ouch-o!) Univision.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

CSI beat GA's two re-runs (their average of 5.285) by 62% with 13.77 million viewers.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms CSI's win as television's number one scripted program:

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Above I posted a poll which will go until May 26th (Saturday) 2007, after which a decision will be made, whether or not to keep this going or shut it down until next season.

Re: CSI Ratings versus Grey's Anatomy

Times up: here is the results of the poll

When Should A Part 2 Of This Thread Be Opened?
(24 total votes)

Now Keep It On Going 9 38%

At The Start Of Next Season 15 63%

So we will restart this at the beginning of the new season, unless anyone can pm me and give me a good reason why it should be kept going, since we are in the re-run stages of the show/s.
