Now That Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Are Gone

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Thanks and I thought that George's ends next year. But I could be wrong. I don't know about anyone elses. Ya never know. They may want to stay on for a while longer, but I don't think she show has many years left in it, whether WP left or not. It's had a great run though. But that's just my opinion.

This year in Monaco George mentioned that he has conctract for this season and next one. I remember he said some time ago that he wants to be with this show to the end. Same with Eric, I'm not sure about Marg but I think she declared that too.

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Just because a character was originally brought in as a supporting one does not mean they cannot become a lead actor after a show like this that has already been on so many years and other leads have moved on. Again, ER is an example, they replaced their leads with more supporting characters who ended up becoming the new leads and yet they still have kept doing that through their whole run and the show still gets good enough ratings.

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

truly, i don't think George or Eric have what it takes to lead the show. i see them mostly as supporting actors, same with the rest of the cast, maybe except Marg. TPTB must've thought something similar which is why they have hired Fishbourne. so, you might be disappointed to see George not being the center when Billy leaves

I have to say I respectfully disagree with you on the point about George not carrying the show. We can't say that because we don't know what he's capable of because he's been given very little opportunity. Billy came into the show with a list of movies behind him such as Manhunter. He had the experience already there. So to say George can't do it is a rather ufair statement.

George has been the centre of some of the most highest rated eppies i.e. Grave Danger, Gum Drops whereas Butterflied is far, far down the list. He's an amazing actor whose subtle grief in For Warrick had far more of a punch for me than BP's staring at the sky in grief while holding a dead collegue in his arms performance. I do like Grissom and I do like Billy but he's not my favourite and that' okay.

But I do agree with when LF comes in, the show will centre around his character which is too bad but's the TPTB for you. They have shown to have little respect for George (look at 2004 firegate) and for whatever reason have no faith in him what so ever.

Rather sad, but oh well, c'est la vie and as long it's not causing global warming let's not worry too much.

ITA, and saying that supporting actors who we know for years are not able to lead the show is unfair. Grissom never was my favourite character and I'm watching for other people (but at first I started to watch CSI 'cause formula of this show is very interesting) like Nick, Greg and Catherine.

Saying that Marg is maybe able to be lead is again unfair 'cause Marg just like Petersen's character was main. For many people who I know it was show of Grissom and Catherine. So why Marg's character is maybe able to be lead? I think that Marg is the best replacment - strong character, do we need more? Btw, we need woman the boss;)

And about George, I agree with myfuturecsi. George like always was amazing in For Warrick (way much better than WP), he had so many moments where we've seen his stunning performances. Definitely he's capable to be the lead. Same is with Eric who finally should have more big moments. And the rest of the cast - all are great. One WP didn't make this show the best on the world. It's made by all the cast.

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Kimbo08 Jorja (who I now dislike completely) said that in an edition of TVGUIDE. Can you say the word 'traitor' she even said it was great when George got fired along with her because she didn't have to go through it alone. With friends like her who needs enemies.

Well, again more information taken out of context. I have already addressed the first, which was in EW and not TVGuide, but here is the exact quote from JF: "For me, it's not going to be the same show".

Now I'll move on to this last info that was also in EW last year.
JF: "I've got to say for the record: If you've got to get fired, it's really fabulous to get fired with a friend. I'll thank George forever. I can only say as a person who got fired on a Wednesday, the fact that I had company on a Thursday was comforting." Take it as you will, but to me it sounds like two friends comforting and supporting each other, both "hurt and confused". Also in the article:
JF: "They (CBS) offered me a raise (to return) at that point, but I declined because George was still fired. It didn't feel right to take a raise."
My understanding is that they were both hired back, albeit without a raise, so it seems to me that Jorja was sticking up for her friend here. Even the interviews from GE indicates that he and JF are good friends.

If you don't like JF you are probably going to find fault with everything she says; but everything I have ever read about her (and it's alot), she comes across as very non-egocentric, an anti-diva, if you will. But I think that is true of everyone on this show, and that's why they get along so well.

Here's a couple of comments from the stars themselves, Marg and Jorja talking about how they feel about Billy Petersen:)

Marg
I know a part of me is in denial about Billy leaving. I'm crying! I didn't realize how much I'd been avoiding facing the reality of CSI without him, And even thought we haven't been having as many scenes together as we used to HE'S UNDER MY SKIN I"ve been very blessed these past eight years not only to have shared in the success of CSI, but to have worked with a man who is an actor's actor minus the pretension, and executive producer minus the superority, and a stud minus the bull..... I LOVE BILLY he's the bomb! I know that we will work together again, and not just as Grissom & Catherine!
TV Guide October-2008

JORJA
JORJA TALKS ABOUT BILLY scroll down a ways to read what she says about him!

So, it's not just mega millions of fans who adore and admire him the stars he works with do as well! he goes to baseball games with Gary, golfs with George and hangs out with Paul!

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Okay I have come to the conclusion that this thread is taking a turn from the topic it is suppost to be (see page/post ONE), this thread is NOT about which character is better, more popular, nor is it about how happy so and so will with a character when they go, who will get more screen time, etc, etc, etc.

You want to praise/criticise a character fine but remember that not everyone will share the same thought, and there is such a thing as too much or going overboard. -- I give credit for those who are actually having a discussion and can agree to disagree, who realize and respect that everyone has a right to an opinion and to disagree with that opinion.

Now in saying all that, we really would like to see the actual discussions continue, but we would would like to see this thread stay more to the topic, veering off a bit no problem, but if you veer to much chances are the reason this thread is here will be lost. ;)

So when should a thread for the character of Dr. Ray Langston open becaue I was reading a bit more about him today and how and Grissom meet-it seems actually interesting.

It is now up you can find a thread for him and his character <-- right there. The only catch no spoilers allowed. ;)

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Besides Billy Petersen this thread is also about the other two stars that are leaving or all already gone. Gary/Warrick, a wonderful character. So intense and brooding, and on the other side sweet, caring and thoughful, and handsome and sexy. His camraderie with all the team, especially Nick. They were aso awesome as a twosome, working together and so cared about their friendship. So sad that one is gone.:(

Jorja/Sara
A fabulous actress, she had a special aura, and a sweet spirit but could get fiesty when she felt wronged, or a child or abused woman was involved. She also had a wonderful chemistry with her team mates. Protective, so upset when Greg was beaten up. and so many other occurences. A beautiful loving kind girl and so pretty. She will be missed sorley. So sad she's gone:(

Re: Petersen, Fox, Dourdan Leaving *No Spoilers*

Loved the list. It only supported what I already knew! CSI will go on. It's a strong show with a strong crew, strong actors, and a strong fan base. Why wouldn't it survive?! Not to mention I know a bunch of people who were currently turned off by the Gris/Sara stuff, that are now coming back to watch Fishbourne. So, there may be people leaving cause they are, but there are also people who are coming back because they're leaving.

Grissom leaving??

I can't seem to find any info on Gil's leaving or even if he is. Does anyone know anything?

Re: Grissom leaving??

I'd say the most fruitful search would be to go to google and type in something like "Petersen leaving" it gives some insight into the character leaving, or you can go back through the last five pages and look at some of the interviews and articles that have been posted. That's my best advice.
