Marg/Catherine ~ Not JUST A Pretty Face #8

She should go over to 30 Rock and be one of Jack's many love interests. Some hot scenes with Alec Baldwin and Marg would just be thud for me.

I know I've said it before (can't remember if it was here or not) but I'd love to see Marg as a teacher in a comedy. I don't know why, but I could see her doing that.
 
I wouldn't mind having her on Cougar Town with Courtney Cox. I've seen that show a few times. It's not great, but it's okay. Or, if she wants to stay with dramas, how about as a new Witness Protection officer on In Plain Sight with Mary McCormack?



ETA: So, I was just thinking (no comments on that, please!)
No matter if she stays or leaves, who would we want her to work with?

Betty White just came to mind. Doesn't she have a new sitcom coming where there are a couple generations of women featured?

Okay, ignoring my icon for a minute, In regards to Marg leaving.

First off, I think there are too many storylines left undone in terms of Catherine not coming back to the show...

Such as;

Saying goodbye to Lindsey and seeing her off to college.

Ditto to her mother

A bit DITTO for Grissom. Shouldn't Catherine get a chance to say goodbye to Grissom???

And now for my icon, what about Vartann? I guess we'll see where that goes in the finale. My hope is that if Catherine does leave, she leaves with him but again, well see.

Okay, now on to Marg

I guess I'm not surprised that she would want off or that they didn't come to her and ask her back. I mean, how many times can her character get into 'peril' or be put at risk? I can see how it's run it's course if you will.

I would like to see Marg in a comedy. She has great timing and wonderful facial expressions. I can see her in a comedy like Julia Louis-Dryfus being the main character dealing with a family and such.

I can't say about Dana Delaney but I did like what I've seen on Desperate Housewives so Marg and Dana would be a good comic pair.

What Marg said was that TPTB haven't asked her back yet, not that they haven't contacted her. I think that there is an important difference. There may be negotiations going on but they haven't come to any agreement. Without an agreement, TPTB couldn't ask her back. They might ask her and her agent to talk some more, however.

I'm wondering if they'll do for Marg what they did for Jorja when she was initially leaving - and bring her back for a few guest appearances to begin the new season and wrap up a few storylines with the first handful of episodes. I'd go for that.

If they kill off the character, I'm totally done with the show immediately.
 
Yea, I'd agree to that. She doesn't have to be in every episode. Like I said on the spoiler thread, she could train Nicky and (whomever) to take over.

I'm also wonder about all sudden Marg press. First she's on the Early Show and The View on the same day. Now there is talk she's not coming back at all? Teasers? Getting us fans rilled up for the end of the season and the summer. To keep us all tuned in and chatting about what's to come???

Yea, the season has ended. The Panty Sniffer episode was filmed in January. Filming for the new season starts in July. She could be back, but as you said Kaylyne in a limited way.

I get what you are saying, and I hope that that is the case. I'd be beyond furious if they don't even offer her the chance to come back. But if you think about it, they would be stupid to not even offer her a chance to come back. Marg has a pretty good fan base and I know that I'd be done with the network as a whole if they did something like that to her (I've been boycotting NBC for awhile now cause of what they did to Conan. I only watch 30 Rock, and the only time I watch that is on Hulu. I don't even religiously watch SVU anymore.)

And Heather, I agree that there is a big need for her to close up some ties. Like...


We shall see. I just hope that we get news sooner than later or else the summer is gonna be a bummer.

As for KayLyne's question, I would love to see Marg work with Tina Fey, aka one of the only women who may rank up there with M in the glasses department. :lol: Betty White would be perfect too. What's not to love about Betty? And selfishly, I'd love to see her with Mariska Hargitay, too. One other thing is that I think she'd be perfect for Saturday Night Live too. I'd say she'd make a good Joy Behar, but Freddie Armisen has that covered...

I hope you are right.The least they can do is give Catherine a good ending.And I like Nick and the show as a whole but for sure I will quit CSI if she leaves.
 
I don't know who I want her to work with. I'm just a Marg gal, and I guess I'll be happy as long as I get to see her. lol. Geez I'm so lame!

Ooooh another recording alert...she'll be on the Rachael Ray Show this coming Thursday. I guess she's still promoting Lost & Found like she did on the other two shows last week. HOWEVER, on the show's website, it also says...

She also said the very same thing (if indeed she's talking about Alex Carter) on the Season 5 DVD bonus feature of the episode Weeping Willows. ;)

Rachael Ray isn't my favorite Talk Show personality, but Marg looked happy and it looks like it's a fun interview.
LOVED the whip comment. Recollections of Lady Heather. ;)
 
Thanks for all the information abour Marg.I also hope that all this attention is to get people to watch the finale and not about her leaving.

It'd be cool if they're talking about VCR, but I think I'd probably be a little disappointed. The page says "the star's dating life" after all and it got me hyped. Seriously! And excuse the little stalker in me, but their real life always seems more interesting than their job! :D
