I also caught Marg on "The View' She looked fabulous, her flawless skin, with her peach blush and matching lip gloss, her golden red hair and her darling powder blue sun dress:bolian: Whoppi asked her "How's the Fish doing" and she gushed about him saying "big shoes to fill but she loves him, he's a great actor and "a class act" yes he is Marg, thank's for that:bolian:

Will Marg Helgenberger Leave 'CSI'?

Marg Helgenberger, the actress who plays forensic scientist Catherine Willows on 'CSI', told TV Squad today that her contract on the show is up after 10 years and that she hasn't yet been asked back for next season.

"My contract is up actually," Helgenberger said, when asked if she would be returning for 'CSI's' 11th season. "That's a good question. I haven't been asked back, so we'll see."

....well that actually pisses me off. "Hasn't been asked back yet?" Uh, hello, that's your FEMALE LEAD who happens to draw in a lot of viewers! Talk about under appreciated. I'd be grovelling at her feet and kissing her butt everyday to try to get her to stay!!!!

LEAVE, MARG! RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!!!

Uh, considering that that SEASON 11 quote was from a random French magazine that no one has really ever heard of, and this was said by Marg herself, to a known journalist, then I think that I can be a little annoyed. It's not even the contract thing. I hope that she leaves this sinking ship, honestly. What irritates me is that they haven't even mentioned renewing her contract apparently.

If TPTB are planning a suspenseful finale, they probably don't want Marg dropping any clues about what happens to her, if she's one of those in danger. We already know that Lawrence will survive and it's doubtful that he will be paid his big bucks to play a character in a coma.
Being "asked to return" would happen after contract negotiations are complete, not before.
They're just messin' wit' ya. :shifty:

As much as I'm wishing for Marg to leave the show (and have been for a couple seasons now) - it's really irking me that after all she's given to this show in 10 seasons, TPTB don't even have the balls to ask her if she wants to return. They don't care enough to ask her? If that's the respect that they have for her, then I'm sure hoping she's done after two more episodes.

I just don't want the character/season to end in the way I'm expecting at the moment.

^ I said earlier on Twitter that it could be an [somewhat lame] excuse that M made under the pressure of a confidential clause, but then Ipstenu reminded me that it's weird to say that when there's a confidential clause to comply. Normally people would just say that they can't make any comment on the matter. So, chances are CBS is nuts. lol.

I still hope that the contract has been dealt with whether she stays or not and that there is indeed a confidential clause for the sake of the cliff-hanger. CBS not even bothering to do a negotiation would be much worse than Marg leaving on her own will.

yeah, it's quite unusual to get the "they haven't contacted me" line like that.
Usually if it's a matter of secrecy to keep a season finale cliffhanger outcome from being discovered, you hear a "no comment" or "there's been no decision made" or something to that effect, not "they haven't talked to me".

ITA with both Erica and KayLyne. It's absolutely disgusting and disrespectful to Marg not only as an actress on CSI, but an actress in general. You'd think that someone of her caliber would at least get the courtesy of a "Hey, let's set up negotiations for ______." I mean, granted, she could be under some Secrecy Clause, but...I wouldn't put it past anyone to screw someone over, especially after the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien debacle over at NBC.

This is gonna be a lonnnnnng summer! I just hope we get the news of whether she is staying or going quickly so we kind of know what to expect come September.

Grr. This annoyed me (obviously ;)), though I will admit that I am looking forward to the interview. I'm wondering if they just talked about us crazy Twitter fans off the record, or if she'll say anything about us. I'm hoping for a shout out to MaMa personally. <3

on a brighter note - this would bring Marg her freedom.

I'm putting in my order for a new Marg/Dana comedy show. We need Marg in a comedy. Hearing Marg's laughter again on thursday's tv interviews makes me wistful for a Marg comedy.

Aren't comedies less time to film, too? She's getting older, and I know that she said in the one interview sometime last year that it's getting harder/taking longer for things to heal if she's sore. So my guess is that the action scenes/14+ hour days are probably not something that she wants to do anymore. She's so funny and just has this natural comic way about her. I loved her in GUTG, so another comedy would be awesome to watch weekly.

Maybe the team of HargiHelgenFey? I'd go splat if you mixed the wits of Marg, Mariska, and Tina together. :adore:

I vote comedy, too. Work is easier, money comes in easier as well. lol. And she does have a great sense of humor. Not to mention those facial expressions!

Just as long as it's tv work she stays with, and not movies in which we see her once every couple years.

And GUTG is among my all-time favorite comedies.
