Niiiiiiiice pictures, ladies!! Once again, thanks ever so much for providing my early morning jump start!
MacsLady, I agree re: Mac being rather clueless about the ladies, and their attraction to him. Of course much of that probably has to do with how long he was attached to Claire, it put him "out of his game" a bit I daresay, and then losing her so suddenly sent him into a tailspin in almost every aspect of his life, let alone the romantic end. The character of "Rose" from the diner in the S1 season finale had obviously been attracted to him and watching him for quite some time at the diner, and when she finally got up the nerve to talk to him, he honestly seemed taken aback that she had noticed him/was attracted to him. And as far as Peyton, I almost got the impression they were playing it that Mac couldn't believe his good fortune re: their relationship - she was young, brilliant and beautiful, and he almost seemed flabbergasted sometimes that she was attracted to him.
Yep he's clueless alright, remember his reaction to the Roller derby cop in Jamalot.....so cute, yep thats why we love our Mac he just doesn't get how attractive he is..
I agree. Mac is a very attractive man, and not just in looks. His personality is attractive too - sure, he has flaws, but he's such an essentially
good guy, he has compassion for the victims of crime and their families, he's very loyal to those he cares about, has a
very strict/high moral code (a little too high even for himself sometimes, poor man) and is a tough, hard Marine but also a sweet guy with very deep emotions, though he tries not to show 'em. He's also very smart and very competent at his job (and that is
hot, IMO). And yeah, he's no pretty boy like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt etc, but he
is very attractive in a different, less conventional way, he has a great body, and those
eyes....And many women don't go for 'pretty boys' (yuk.). But Mac probably doesn't think of himself as being that attractive, especially to younger women like Peyton/Jane/Rose/Polly, or he thinks his being a widower would put them off. He's really quite shy, too, not very sure of himself around women - we saw that with Rose and Polly and Jane and even with Peyton to some extent.
I agree too that he was put off his game by how long he loved Claire. When he and Quinn kissed, it was a mistake, a heat of the moment thing. He obviously loved Claire very much, and so wasn't used to interacting with other women romantically for however long they were married/together. And when she died, the very last thing on his mind was being romantically involved with anyone. He probably felt guilty even thinking about a woman in any way other than a professional or friendly one. And even when women flirted with him (Rose and Jane being good e.g.'s) he seemed surprised and taken aback. He definitely seemed to feel astonished that Peyton would want to be with him, that she would
chase him. I agree too that Rose had been eyeing him for a while. And jeez, if he goes to the diner dressed in that white tee every morning who can blame her?:drool:
It's probably that shy thing, that why-would-you-want-to-be-with-me thing, as well as the other things I mentioned earlier, that make him even more attractive to women.
Mac may not understand why the ladies like him, but we do! And it's more than just the uniform, Mac, honey. We wants the whole package....
*starts chasing Mac...*
I do love how TPTB have shown that older guys like Mac can be attractive to the ladies, and not just the 'hot young things' like Danny . It's great that they recognize and acknowledge Gary's hotness. Now, if only they'd acknowledge it by giving us a shower scene rather than just teasing us about one. *looks pleadingly at TPTB*
Actually, all of the main male characters on NY are hot - Mac, Flack, Adam, Hawkes, Danny. But Mac's the hottest, IMO. He's the only one who caught fire so far... But that is one hot male cast they have on that show.:drool::drool::drool:
