i hope no one took that too offensively??? but with that said i think CSI needs a gay character?

There is certainly no reason for you to apologize. You have your own opinion, and it's valid. I respect that. Just like I have my opinion that Sara is a wholly unpleasant character on the show, and I know some folks don't share that opinion, but it's mine, and I don't have reason to apologize for it, either. Each to his/her own. Diversity is what makes the world more interesting! :)

i love sara lol, i think MBGrissom and i are opposites, i cant stand sophia lol i had no idea so many peole liked her.

Without getting too much into ship discussion, I just wanted to say a couple of things about Sofia (it is really hard to separate people's reactions to her from the ships).
Obviously, the reason why she is disliked so much, is her being shown as a threat to GSR, and I think it was very cheap of TPTB to try to introduce Sofia as a potential romantic interest for Grissom.

TPTB claim that they don't want to go the soap opera route, and then shamelessly show Sara being jealous of Sofia and Grissom being jealous of Greg and try to create love triangles. I think this portrayal doesn't do LL justice either.

And yes, I am among the ones who don't like her. She is an "intruder" for me, not only because of GSR, but also because I don't like the status quo being changed much, when there is a cast that already have a great chemistry.

i think its kinda rude for ppl to call sofia lesbians just bcoz u dun like her coz of the whole gris sara saga thingy...to each its own but dislike is just pure dislike...there is no need for one to go the extent of calling other casts names just bcoz you see her as a threat to sara...im sure most sara fans would be quite annoyed if any other shipper for gil fans called sara some crappy crude names

I like Sofia much more in season 6.
I guess it's because she isn't competition for Sara anymore now she's a detective and not a direct collague. She also did not have much flirty scenes with Grissom. And besides that, she just seems a lot nicer and less know-it-all.

I'm hoping they keep Louise Lombard on board. Damn, between the awesome principals, Sofia, and the lovely labbies, the show is going to need to start doing two-hour episodes every week. :lol:

I'm gonna agree with this. Sofia is an awesome character and I liked her from the start. Of course this may be because I've never liked GSR therefore have no feeling of intrusion from Sofia; but even if I did like GSR, Sofia 'interfering' is no reason to dislike her. I don't dislike Grissom because he 'interferes' with Nick and Sara; in fact he's one of my favourite characters.

That said, I do like Sofia better as a detective, so far. She seems a lot more at ease at PD than in the lab, and she looks happier.

CSIinTraining1 I appreciate your passionate feelings for CSI, BUT please, let's just chill on the abusive terminology.

Please allow me to quote an excerpt from the Talk CSI Rules pertaining to showing criticism in the forums:

"It's fine to say a certain aspect of CSI is bad, as long as you don't insult the people who think otherwise, and as long as you actually back up what you say. Jumping in and shouting "Willows sucks!" is not an acceptable form of constructive criticism."

So too put it into perspective of the current faux pas, saying, "sofia is a skank!!! shes a lesbian home-wrecker trying to move in on grissom", just won't do.

With this said, please let's re-direct discussion of this thread into less muddy waters.

CSI_mania there are several who have posted their dislike of the character, which everyone is entitled to their opinion, the problem came when as "TallyHo" put it abuse of terminology and rules that go with it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the line does come cross at certain points when its opinion and abuse, please keep that in my everyone. ;)

Can't stand Sofia. She walks funny (why does she lurch?), talks funny (pick an accent and stick with it, yo!), and why, God why, do the writers have to make her flirt with Grissom? Arrrghh... soooo... insufferable...
Kudos to those of you with the courage to like her. You are brave, and should have a monument erected somewhere.

ummmm....wich is it sophia or sofia? to be honest i kind of like her as a threat, makes sara go for what she wants griss. sarah get on my nerves sometimes cuz she tends to over react but i love the passion in her, she's a fighter. but sofia knows what she is doing,the looks thats she gives the others on the team, but is it ok to say that ecklie sucks i mean no one likes him????lol j/k

well at first i really didn't like sofia but now her character is starting to wear on me .. she is definetly devoted ... that is one thing you can say about her
