Hi, I am Britta from Bochum-Germany.

I am a CSI:NY fan since the beginning of airing it here. At present we are at the beginning of the third series. We are much behind because they translate into german and cut some "dangerous" scenes out of it. Well, that´s why I am quite happy to have the dvds also in original language.
The characters are combined with the voice and sometimes a bit of the content has gone in the translation...

My favourites are Gary Sinise - it was him who let me see this series first. But I also like Danny and Stella:).

I do agree with you about the spanish dubbing. I don't like Flack's voice at all. I remember in "Comsequences" Eddie Cahill was great when facing Mac with all about the raid. The spanish actor made it so plain, with no emotion, no anger... Nothing!

And what about the translation failures? No comment!

Since I bought season 2 and 3 on DVD on UK (btw, now I have the whole season 3 at home, thanks Amazon), I do prefer the original version. Anyway, I still watch CSI:NY every Monday at Tele 5. Flack is Flack!

You put it well, Rtelgeuse. I'm so used seeing CSI:NY in english that the spanish voices just sound to me some kind of weird...

I can't remember what I thought about Flack on "Consequences", but in general, I prefere original Cahill's voice, which is more mature and strong in contrast with his spanish's double... Although, it is true that I do like Stellas voice in both lenguages.

I see that almost everyone owns the DVD box sets but do any of you guys have any of other merchandise like CSI NY sweaters, or mugs or keyrings etc.? :)
 
Nah, In New Zealand, CSI merchandise is pretty much non-existant. You need to go onto Ebay to get CSI stuff :(
 
Over here merchandise for CSI NY is non existent too you have to buy online. I got my way around it and took a t-shirt to one of those printing shops and had my own version of TEAM FLACK printed out it didn't cost that much to have it printed.
 
Yeah, is the same here, in Barcelona. There's nothing you can find at the shops. As you have already said, you have to buy through eBay, and even more, the international eBay.

So I did it too, althea . I bought a made-your-own-Tshirt-stamp package and during the last year I made a couple of T-shirts, one with the CSI:NY logo, and the other one with a foto of the team on the back.

I agree with you, yas_NYPD. Did you know Eddie Cahill's voice in spanish is the same as Ben Stiller? Also, I don't like Sid's spanish voice. Too hard! Mac's is really OK.

Btw, no merchandising here in Madrid either. I never buy on eBay, I'm more of Amazon, but never looked for something yet.
