I loved the end of Dead Woman Walking, when Horatio went over there to keep her company as she was dying. Now that is the Horatio we once knew and loved.
Not this, 'lets shove a guy in the trunk of a car, drive out to the glades, beat his face in and threaten him with a gun'. Don't you think they took his character a little too far there? I want to see some genuine compassion again and gentle-heartedness. One can only hope season 5 will turn out well.

Hell yes I think TPTB went far to OTT this season. There is only so much a man can take before they break him.
I find myself wishing they would kill Horatio off being ruieing him.
I cant bare to see waht they have done to him and I fear season 5 will be worse as we will have to deal with the fall out of Season 4.
Season 1 and 2 look like a masterpeace compaird to this crap.

Welcome to Horatio's House of Hugs Sammie. Dead Woman Walking is one of my fav. episode too.
I agree with Speed_C. I'd like to see the genuine compassion and gentle-heartedness of H again. And Sammie, S5 might not be worse because CSI:M writers don't know what is continuity so they might forget everything in S4 and things might look like S2 again!

Judging from all the comments on 'Dead Woman Walking', this sounds like to be yet another great H epi which incidentally is next on the S1 dvd to watch, so am looking forward to that
You're welcome for the pics zippy, glad you liked them. And yeah, I agree, H has the yummiest sideburns :devil: Wew! Ever since I've started watching Miami and getting into H's character, I feel like a teenager all over again, gushing about this guy :lol:
Now, the rest of my thoughts - I liked the ending of 'Forced Entry', where we see H interview the killer (who was also a victim of the deceased's crimes). It makes me wonder, did H feel sorry for the guy? I am sure he did. And I think Horatio felt it was at least a little hard (though he couldn't really show it whilst interviewing the kiler) for him to say 'you're going to jail anyway'. I think H understand why the killer did what he did, because I think that's part of H's character - he empathises with people, and not always the outright victims, but ultimately, knows the guy is still a murderer and must be arrested.
Perhaps H also feels bad for the guy because justice was never served to the rapist the first time round, and if it had been (definitely if it had been H working the case ), this would not have happened. Still, the guy's actions were inexcusable, despite his motives for killing, and H is right when he says to him 'justice is not for you to dispense'.

I think you can tell quite a bit what this man's thinking by his facial expressions - I like the way the camera holds on his face like that, because I feel it emphasises to the audience that H is feeling stuff inside about what he has done/what's just happened, which I think is important for his character development.

zipster see this two pics from epi. 'blood brothers'...H is on the boat and stay near captain...but in this away look pic this is not H by aptain side and even have sunnys, but the same blue shirt and jacket like H :lol:

well i just now have time to read ur posts and will try to answer, but with a little mess i too like u love H face expression and deep drag voice. for me in S 1-3 DC play perfect H character. love the way he repeat peoples quotes, this for me is like a game, somehow H try to provoker the bad guys. or use one word two times - for me this is a little time for him to think and to say the write words at the right time. love H characters coz he don`t speak a lot but when he do it .. :devil: also love this part when H move his look away, tilt his head or put hands on his hips. this manners add H character. for me this show that he try to stay distance and at the same time to make nervous the bad guys. but all this make H look so so sweet. most of his face expression love the smale tick that he have under his left eye. when the camera take close view on him we all know that now is going to happen something important or H have inside fight...
i too agree that somethims H feel sorry for this killers, coz in some epis in Miami we know that the moto for this murders is noble (like in epi. 'Blood moon' or 'Wet foot dry foo' ) but not in the last place they ae killers...all this H full understanding toward the bad guys and victims make ours Rela H to be Saint H.

I have always admired H for his understanding of the human condition. He sets himself apart with his ability to empathize; something that arguably Mac and Grisson lack (though I still admire them too for different reasons).

My 5 yr old grandaughter & I watched this last night. She laughed so hard at the part where the boat pulls up beside the Cruz brothers & H looks around the corner with that big smile of his like he's saying"gotcha". She loves it when he smiles. She's such a big fan of H's. Loves it when he smiles & the way he holds his gun. Below is one of the pics she thought was so funny.

I agree with Wibble that H empathizes with the murderers who took justice in their own hands. I feel that he isn't so hard on them but yet, as was said, they are still murderers. That's sad.
