"Fannysmackin" Discussion **SPOILERS**

Back to the "overprotective mother" discussion, I might get "fannysmacked" for sharing this, but I had a totally different take on that whole conversation between Greg and Grissom--maybe I'm just reading too much into it. I was wondering (please don't fannysmack me, I love Greg just as much as the rest of you), considering the lack of athletic participation, overprotective mother, and seemingly lack of success in the dating field (though I can't understand why) could be indications that maybe Greggy is in the closet? Not that I necessarily want it to happen, just wondering if anyone else had thought it or if it was just me. I'll go run and hide now.

No need to run and hide, but there is absolutely no way and no reason to think that Greg is "in the closet". He's pure hetero, and has been shown to crush on girls and only girls!

Greg has dated before. He once talked to Nick about how he was checking out a date's DNA, not to mention he wanted that hooker's phone number, the one Nick helped in the first season. He's been shown to flirt with girls in the lab, not to mention that he's always had a crush on Sara. Probably still does.

That's a good question. It's going to be hard to say. This might just be me but I think she kind of leads him on. She's always with him and flirting with him. Like in "Who Shot Sherlock" talking about going out to celebrate after they get off and how she was helping him with the case and everything. I mean it could also be like I said before a little brother type thing, where she's just looking after him. Did you notice when she says "I came here for you Greg" in the last episode she was crying or starting to. I was like awwww. That really showed how much she cared about him.

If he finds out about her and Grissom, how do you think he'll react.

Your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea how he'll react, but I would hope that he would just accept it and move on.

Season 2 Episode 5 Scuba Doobie Doo

CATHERINE: I just talked with your partner. Working this case without me, huh?

NICK: Hmm?

CATHERINE: Greg Sanders?

NICK: Let go my Greg-o. He's a CSI wannabe. Please. Check out the bottom of
this tank.

He does walk past fast, he does that in another epi too, now I can't remember which one.

I totally agree, with thinking that Sara sort of sees him like a little brother but as a friend too, plus I think she knows that he's sort of harmless and may flirt back, you know, give what you get, she likes him, not in a romantic way, she knows he's brilliant, finds him funny, to her he's the cute guy with a crush, but at the same time, she cares for him, she had to go and see him when he was beaten, that's how I see it at least.

One of my favorite Greg scenes includes Sara, when he asks her about her fight with Ecklie, in "Unbearable" and he says, "I don't know if you know this about me, but I'm a good listener." I think that really is how their relationship is, they talk to each other.

It's hard to explain. But the little brother, friend, co-worker, flirt..it's all wrapped up into the package of why she cares about him.

And I'm not even a Sara and Greg shipper either.

I think he'll be fine with it, but he may just wonder why he didn't know..or better, he'd say he knew it all along. :)

Hey, sorry to go back on the topic mentioned a few posts above, but do you think there is a possibility that Demetrius' brother is going to kill Greg? (you know... just in case he doesn't sign a new contract for next season?)
I dread the idea...
Do we have any spoilers as to Greg's future this season? I know what happens as far as Post Mortem... then nothing...

I wonder why people get so diffensive when someone suggests a character could be gay/ bi. Appart from the fact that it'll probably never happen, 'cause CBS is to chickenshit to go that way... *is sad*

Anyway, some might disagree with me, but I think Greg has been over his crush on Sara for a long time, at least since end season 4. Sure, he likes to flirt with her a little, but he flirts with pretty much everything that breathes. They're just really good friends, almost brother/sister like.

Also? You don't want to know how many gay men are married in this time and age just to hide who they are, so saying that Greg is purely hetro just because he says he's been dating girls... well, it doesn't really fly. I'm not saying that Greg is gay, because really? I don't know, but I don't see him as purely hetero either.

Remember in Big Middle, how he told Grissom he likes to think he's pretty open minded?

And then there's something Catherine said in Fannysmackin' that can mean nothing or anything... After Greg told her he went to diner after his court apperance? She asked if the person he went to diner with was female. That amused me to no end, but then again, I have a strange sense of humor. :p

Uhm, yeah. *goes back into lurking mode*

I think I had caught that too, which, after the Greg/Grissom conversation in the hospital room, made me wonder if he wasn't exaggerating his success with the ladies to cover something. But it was just a thought, like I said I could be reading way too much into the situation. After seeing how "Nip/Tuck" is developing the storyline of Dr. Christian Troy I wondered if a trend was starting. I could be totally off base, and Greg could just be the adorable, "little-brother" type that we all love.

Here's a thought--what if Grissom ends up leaving because Sara and Greg end up getting closer because of Greg being injured? Even though I was thrilled to see Grissom and Sara get together (just because she had been carrying such a torch for him), I see a lot of people on here would like to see Greg and Sara together, and I agree that might be interesting too.

Urgh, please no. Greg and Sara where already close. And to see a good friend injured like that... Anyway, like I said, Sara and Greg totally have the brother/sister vibe going on. I definitely don't want to see Sara and Greg get together. And Sara's been so hung up on Grissom for such a long time, now that she's got him, she's not going to let him go that easily. But that's just my opinion.

In fact, I think I don't want to see Greg hook up with anyone at all. There are enough relationships going on already, we don't need more.

But yeah, we're straying a bit from topic. This is something nobody's ever going to agree about. :p

I still haven't seen the episode in it's entirety (sp?), and I just can't wait. :'3

I think he's always exaggerated is luck with the ladies..and in a way I think they all know. A good example is when Greg was talking about the liquid latex with Nick in the first appearace of Lady Heather..when he said 'you can put it on yourself, if you can't get a date"..and then was something like, 'not that I would know or have that problem' and Nick was like, 'yeah, whatever'..meaning they kind of know that Greg isn't all that much of a player that he says he is.

Even in Spellbound when the stripper said the guy was harmless, like Greg..I guess if anyone would know if a guy was harmless, it would be a stripper, they do see all kinds..so yeah, I've always thought that Greg wasn't all that lucky with the ladies or is almost shy around them..which makes him totally adorable and cuter than ever!!! Plus there were other incidents that kind of said that he's not as experienced as the tries to come off..and again, making him totally adorable!!

Sillie, I'm with you, I'd rather not see him hooked up with anyone, I think that Sara and Grissom is kind of enough for the moment..and Sara, she totally just sees him as the fun sort of little brother, no romanantic feelings there.

Also when you hear a male bragging about that all the time it probably gets on people's nervous LOL. Sara and Greg do have brother/sister type relationship, the way she treats him is so cute. Has anyone noticed that he doesn't really flirt with her that much as he did in season 1,2,3,4?? I think he changed more after he got into being a CSI.
