Oh yeah, that scene made me LOL too.

Natalia: Oh My God!
Natalia: Oh.....My....God!
Natalia: OhMyGod!

(Horatio somehow just slides in....without his sunglasses)

Horatio: Natalia?

Some Natalia news!

Episode description says that Nat's injury puts her & Ryan in jeopardy. Dr.Marshall, the hearing specialist, is also listed to appear.

Yay! The storyline will actually continue!! :D

Glad to know it will be more than just her visiting the doctor. Also glad that it will involve Ryan, so they can do better with continuity. Hmmm...jeopardy...;). Now only for the long wait....which I don't mind but I just don't like January..so...busy.

I'm somewhat concerned about the tone of that information.

I don't want to see Natalia's storyline take her down a path that will incite the wrath of her detractors. By putting Ryan in jeopardy, it could leave her wide open to accusations that she is putting the entire team in danger and being selfish by not addressing the hearing problem.

Hopefully I'm wrong. Natalia is a considerate and caring person. She would NEVER intentionally endanger anyone - team member or civilian. Maybe putting Ryan in jeopardy will be her wake up call to address the problem. Natalia, along with Horatio, have always been the LEAST selfish persons on that show. They need to keep it that way.

These people have been known to destroy characters before just to get what they want out of a storyline. I don't want to see that happen with Natalia. ;)

I don't see Natalia putting anyone in danger at all. Already in 8.10, we saw her telling Ryan to escape first. This could be a situation where she was caught off-guard. I think she would blame herself if she would get anyone in trouble. I think the spoilers also tend to exaggerate a little. ;)

They better not change her character! :shifty:

I don't think Natalia realizes that her condition is endangering herself or anyone else, so I don't believe it's a selfish act.
Like Michya said, I too think this "jeopardizing event" is something that will catch her off-guard & she'll then face the ugly truth of the matter.
My guess is that her hearing loss will be revealed to the rest of the team since she will be seeing a doctor (it will be on her record, no way around hiding it anymore) so as far as her endangering others' lives, I don't think it will happen anymore after this...my thought is that this event is just her wake-up call & the way TPTB reveal her "secret" to the team.

I'm anxious to find out what happens by the end of the episode. I imagine Horatio will take his part now....will he take her off the field? Assign her lab-work & nothing else? Be forced to temporarily take her badge & gun? Either or, it should be sad for Natalia considering how much she loves the job.

I hope they don't end her arc so soon, i.e once the team knows then that's the end, in 8.13? I like to see the vulnerability (that was mentioned earlier) more, as a storyline for Natalia hardly comes by (though I don't want an emo Nat...haha). But I don't know how will she still be able to work and I hate to see her stuck in the lab because she is the CSI who is already doing more lab work than the rest. It will be sad.

I think after this is where that vulnerability will show (as O'Brian mentioned). Agree totally with hating to see her stuck in the lab...AGAIN! I'm sure it will happen too 'cause I can't see them letting her back on the field after this. This could partly be why we have Walter suddenly being a CSI. Poor Nat, they better not be using this ordeal to make her a permanent labrat again! :(

I had a thought about her "condition" -- Dr. Marshall supposedly (spoilers do change keep in mind) says that her hearing loss could be from a pre-existing condition -- maybe it will have something to do with her time at the gun range learning to shoot (S6)? We were to assume she spent alot of time there (she said as much in one episode) so, maybe all that shooting had already done a little damage to her eardrum.

I really, really don't want to see poor Natalia chained to the lab again. She's more than done her time in that area.

As far as the reason for her possible "pre-existing condition", Natalia came from a very abusive marriage. What if her pre-existing condition is a result of Nick's abuse?

I thought so too. I think her inner ear will be damage since it is going to affect her equilibrium(?). So now I don't know if surgery will heal or if she needs a hearing aid. It will be interesting if she never gets healed fully.

Interesting idea that it might be from her abusive marriage. As much as I thought they should've dug deeper into that subject, I don't know if I want to see Nat have to battle that demon again. I'd hate to see Nick & the abuse haunt her.
On the flip side though, I always thought Natalia needed to break down & come clean from the pain he caused her (really we saw more fear than pain during that storyline)......she might need to have a really good "flip out" moment & get it out of her system. ;)

As far as the hearing loss/equilibrium -- I've suffered from equilibrium issues for several years now, it's sparodic though, & let me tell you IT SUCKS. I feel drunk as a skunk when it happens, can barely function or drive. Anyway, from what I've been told by my Doctor is that it's a possible benign tumor behind my ear. So that's the only thing I know of that pertains to both hearing loss & equilibrium that could be Nat's "already existing condition". If that's the case then surgery can help the issue & she'll be fine.

Who knows where tptb are going with it though or what her condition will be, or be from -- I just hope they've done thier medical research, & I hope it's not soooo minor of a thing that it winds up falling flat in the end.

Ha...just dropping in to say Happy Birthday to Eva!!! Hope she enjoy her loooooong holidays and you guys too! :p

I hope to see her more on CSI next year! :)

Wooot! It's 43 for our girl, right? For me there's about 5 more hours until Dec. 27th, but, what the heck....Happy Birthday Eva!!! :adore:
You rock, sweetheart -- looking fabulous & even more beautiful year after year! We love 'ya!
Midori cocktails all around...or funky blue Martinis.

Hey guys & gals! I found this fan-made video tribute for Eva's birthday; it's a variety of Eva's interview clips, red carpet pics, pics of her with the cast, random 'Miami' caps, all set to music...and of course it ends on Eva's 'Horatio' impression (LOL) -- check it out, lots of great Eva moments!

Thank you CSITam for the wonderful video!
