Eric and Calleigh #32 - Seven Years In The Making.

Ok if I remember correctly since they have brought out the past issue of the file and her reading it, If I remember correctly he had not read his own file and he didn't know what all was in said file notes that she read.

I assume he probably figured that the Dctor wrote down most of his feelings in her notes, but I really wonder what he assumes that she read in the file. For one thing when he said I really value your friendship Calleigh, I think he was feeling her out to kinda get a hint of what she really read in the notes. I mean he may think that the Doctor just said something like Eric is attracted to female Co-worker but worrys about how she feels for him. I don't really think he knows what all she really read in his file! She has been standoffish from him so much everytime he said anything he was totally taken by surprise last night by her bluntness. It seem like he was really going to lay it out there until she shot back and said she was confussed!

Now! What is Calleigh confused about? What did she read in that file! "When I got shot it put my life in prospective! It made me think about my future and settling down, it would be nice if it were Calleigh!" Now this is what she read, but he hasn't read his on file so he really doesn't know what shes read. He told her he valued her friendship! Now to me that was a little weird comming from him knowing how he feels about her. I'm thinking he was trying to carefully go fishing to see if she would admit to read his file and she tryed to play dumb by saying she didn't know he felt that way about her, Then he bought up the file, and I thnk he was really try to see what she new or didn't know and when she didn't bite ans said she was tring to respect his privacy, I think he was going to push it a little farther when he give her that look, and we all know the pattened Delko Eye roll! He was trying to find out exactly what she did know so he could see if he was going to be able to tell her how he felt without her running away from him.

But! Dear old Frank came waltzing up and enter the picture befoe he could get it out of her. Then by the time it came up at the Elevater, He figure she wasn't going to spill, so he would push it a liittle more and get her to tell him what she new and how she felt, but it snowballed on him when He said what if I don't! Well I mean he was a little bit eager there like he was going to be the big stud on campus and win the head Cheerleader on game day! Instead she through it back at him!

I think the reason she said he should tell her and spell it out is because she read what hes told the Doctor, but then he turns and says I value our FriendShip! i think she feels hes confused because one time hes swooning over her and making googoo eyes and she gets thease signals that he wants her, and the next hes like well I value your friendship! Inturn hes confusing her in the prossess of his inability to articulate his thought and feelings to her! I think I would be kinda confused to because she just can't figure out witch one is the truth and she doesn't want to deep and totally in to him until he classifies his intentions and tells her what the hell he really wants from her!

I think hes been at this for so long and instead of comming out and saying something to start out with, he has wasted theie time by try to jocky it out of her first and now hes got both of them confused about what each other wants In turn I think I'm even confused now so I need to stop this before my head actually spontainiously combusts and my hubby has to call the Fire Department! Lol! Am I making any sence or am I confussing everybody else!!!!

Oh and if i'm not making any sence thats ok I only paid $1.95 for this PHD in Psycology degree at Walmart so i you need one their pretty cheap.

I think you are making sense. So Eric has mentioned it to other people that he wishes that it would be Calleigh. He comes out with this your friendship means a lot to me comment and now she is confused, hell I would be too.

She knows how he feels about her but she NEEDS to hear him say it to her. I understand where she is coming from, like you said one minute they are having eye sex and the next he is telling her how he values her friendship. Quit playing with the girl and just tell her how you feel already. Its no secret that he is in love with her and hey maybe underneath it all Calleigh is a romantic and needs to hear that he is in love with her. :lol:

I noticed Calleigh clearing her throat, and I laughed, because it was so "What? I wasn't saying anything. Why are you looking at me like that?".

I'm not even that much of a shipper, but when Calleigh was basically throwing the ball at his head instead of lightly placing it in his court, I was almost yelling "Oh for crying out loud just kiss her, damnit! It'd make things so much easier!" :lol:

He should have and it totally would have made things a helluva lot easier!! Although, I think it would have been too much like the whole season 5 finale scene with Jake.

Yeah I am still trying to wrap my head around this. I can both sides. He has been pressing her so often in the past and she has changed the subject each time so when finally she DOES want an answer he is flabergasted and has a brain fart, like someone said earlier.

On the other hand, I think she is still thinks he only has a crush and his emotions are a result of her being there for him in a time when he was most confused etc. Granted, he definately made it seem like that last night by not answering but I don't think his emotions are soley based on her being there for him. I think part of her knows that but like any woman she wanted confirmation; she wanted to hear the words.

I think you put it very accurately there. She thinks he's not sure, she tells him "say something if you are sure"... but he doesn't say a thing. Anything!
Now if I were her, I would seriously doubt the sincerity of his feelings. But hey, that's just me

As much as it's wonderful and romantic, it's also incredibly overwhelming that someone is so in love with her and they are not even dating yet. People usually date first and than that relationship becomes more serious and... well, you know, usually you date a guy before you find out that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. Maybe that's why she's not so convinced in his feelings. IMO, before she read his file, she thought that he liked her, had a crush on her or that his feelings were result of their friendship and the fact that she was always there for him. That's probably the reason she kept her distance... I mean, you don't just jump into bed with your best friend because of a crush. I guess she's also scared that once they get together he will realize that she's not what he imagined she'd be in a relationship and that they would break up and she'd get hurt.

A guy who never (as far as we know) had a serious relationship, let alone one that could be "till death do us part", is head over heels in love with his best friend and co-worker and right after he realizes that another man is kissing her in front of him. That must hurt like hell... I got the impression that he's waiting for Calleigh, because (again, as far as we know) there were no women in his life for a while now. He changed a lot, he's not that smooth Delko he used to be and he's afraid of rejection and he couldn't think of anything else to do, so he made sure she read his file in hope that that would speed up the process. It didn't. He cooled it off a little. After a while he makes a comment about friendship and later how he doesn't want to forget about their little moment hopping that she would do something, but still not expecting it from her, and is caught of guard when she actually tells him that all he has to do is say it out loud... IMO, he was so surprised that he couldn't say anything. You know that feeling when you wanted something for a very long time and you can finally have it and that just totally freezes you? I think that happened to him.

Spoiler: Next few episodes

My guess is that in the next few episodes they will realize how stupid they are and that they will get together. Maybe Eric will see Calleigh flirting with a guy in 7.13 and will say something, Calleigh will close off again and in 7.14 she will realize that life is too short to be away from Eric... I don't know when they are going to get together. Maybe it'll be at the end of the 7.14 and maybe they'll drag it for a while, but I'm convinced that they will get together in the next few epis...

I completely agree!! It's great how we all have these theories. but I think you summurized it perfectly.
I would definately freeze too if I were Eric. I think it's really hard to admit something like that because it makes you very vulnerable. And if I were Calleigh I would like to hear him say it as well. How can someone ever be certain unless it's said out loud...

To answer your questions:

Here is what I am hoping he will tell her, he will admit to being stupid for not telling her. Not that he wasn't sure of his feelings for her but he wasn't sure of her feelings for him. I rewatched the episode last night and like I said she gave him the opportunity to say something and he didn't because he was afraid. I hope that he tells her that he loves her and that he always has.

I am waiting for another shirtless Delko scene, so hopefully it comes true.

I think there is a one good thing from their conversation, she didn't say no to him. She just want to hear how he feels about her and she want to hear it directly from him, not from files. We have to understand her. First he told her how important is her friendship for him and then the whole scene at the elevator. She has right to be confused.
On the other hand I understand he's scared of what might happen finally, but damn, how old is he, he shouldn't acts like a teenager. If he want to be with her, he need to talk to her, but talk honestly this time. It's obvious she gave him a permission to talk about their expectations. So now like someone said the ball is on his court. It's time for his move. I hope we'll see it soon, maybe in 7.14?

I can imagine him saying something like I like you a lot and I want something more then just friendship. You mean a lot to me and I want to be with you. He could say that this is the first time he feels that way and that's why he's a little scared.Then he could say that he has waited so long to make a first move, because he wasn't sure how she feels about him and he was affraid that she might reject him. But he doesn't want to wait any longer, cause he definitely doesn't want to watch her with another man again. He could explain her that it would just break his heart. I'm sure she would understand that.
As for the physical contact I guess a kiss is possible, but I don't know when. Maybe when they get together they will show us more of their private life and that would create a great opportunity to see a kiss or maybe even something more, who knows.

Ok I'm gonna answer the second one first cause it's easier :lol: I think we could get a kiss but by the end of the season. Still, I imagine we could have other physical contact like him brushing her hair off her face in a private moment between them. Maybe touching her hand. I don't know why but I always imagine him taking that first step in a physical contact. Though after monday night I'm not so sure anymore...:lol:

By the way I can see either of these moments happening in 7.14 while she's in the hospital and he sits besides her.

As for the first question...hmmm. Based on 7.14, probably in the hospital:

I guess I imagine him telling her that he has to talk to her...fidgeting...didn't think it would be so hard...clasps hands...what happened today really scared me and I want more Calleigh, between us. I know we are friends and co-workers and that it's risky but it's a risk I'm prepared and willing to take...puppy Delko eyes.

Please be patient, I have been thinking about this since Monday (not a good thing since I tend to obsess about "stuff"), and I decided that I really need to say it.

Okay, I'm going to defend Eric's behavior on Monday night. It was definetely not his best hour; this was not the smooth Delko from past seasons, but in his defense (Yes, I totally love the "New and Improved" Eric Delko. He's every woman's dream man.), he has become a totally different person in the last two years.

(Before you start throwing things at me please remember that I love Calleigh to death)

Eric knows that Calleigh has issues with getting close to people, and he has been trying to take it slow so as to not alarm her. In season 5, after the shooting, he had finally gotten to the point where he could try to tell her how he felt. In Born To Kill he finally tried to tell Calleigh and what did she do? She told him that they work together, and oh "you know I trust you with my life. I don't know how I feel about Jake yet."

After watching CSI Miami for all of these years and really dissecting these characters more than I should, I decded that Calleigh doesn't care too much for change. She likes emotion to be simple and easy to compartmentalize. That's why she chose not to finish the conversation with Eric and get to the bottom of their feelings for each other Instead she gave into her fear of getting close to someone and ran from her burgeoning feelings for Eric and straight to her past - Jake. She kissed him right in front of Eric; hell, she even went to Antigua with Jake.

After all that, why on earth would he want to put his heart right out there to be trampled on? He has been there for Calleigh when no one, and I mean no one, else was. (Stand Your Ground)

After last season's tap dance around how they feel about each other we finally get confirmation of Eric's feelings in the form of his therapist's file.

Damn Calleigh, you read the file. He stated that he wanted to settle down with you. What more do you need to force you to let go of that famous self control?

Eric even asked her directly if she read the file. Rather than give him a direct answer she evaded once again. She's pretty good at that.

After all of that evasion he was was taken aback by Calleigh's sudden insistence on hearing EXACTLY what he wants from her. Well damn! I don't blame him for being a bit startled; she has spent so much time deflecting his questions and being evasive when he tries to talk to her that he was a bit surprised at how...um...aggressive she decided to get.

In my humble opinion Eric needs to walk up to Calleigh and just kiss her until she's breathless. There would be no need for him to try to articulate and she would have no doubts about how he feels. Problem Solved

Sorry this was so long and disjointed. Like I said, I've been thinking about this since the episode aired...

Just a quick comment about what Calleigh read in his file, because its obviously become very important. Remember, we saw all the patients' comments on the screen, but that was not necessarily what Dr. Marsh's notes said. Back when the ep aired, I know someone managed to get a decent screencap of Eric's file and pulled as much of the text as they could, and it was all stuff about Calleigh being there for him, and keeping him steady, etc. etc. but nowhere in the screencap was the phrase we saw on the screen and in Eric's voice. So we know for sure that she should know she's very important to Eric, and that she's pivotal in his life, but we DON'T know for sure that she knows he wants to settle down with her. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm farily certain that WASN'T in what we saw of his actual file. Her look of surprise in that scene can easily be explained by the fact that there's an entire paragraph about her in his therpaists' file, and she probably didn't realize she was as important to him as she was.

If that's the case, then it makes a lot of sense that she's confused right now, and that she really DOESN'T know exactly what he wants from her.

I was surprised a little about place which have chosen Сalleigh for explanations with Eric.
I can't imagine that in the middle of a lobby among set of people he starts to tell her "what he wants" .
It's interesting what they talked about, when they went together to military school?
