Soon Melly. This is one story line that isn't going to be rushed. Sorry:lol::lol: It's going to get worse before better.;);)Let's just say I'm really angsty lately:lol:

Just some downs but no worries.:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Mac and Eric got home with the baby the girls had set up a little welcome home party.
"Surprise Eric Jr. Welcome home."
"Aww..this is sweet girls. Look at all this. great job."
"Come sit mom. We have a rocker for you and Eric to sit together."
Walking over she sat down with Eric Jr and began rocking.
"Are you hungry mom? We made all kind of goodies. Shannon and Serina made finger snadwiches too."
"I would love some. Thank you girls."
"Here mom I'll take Eric so you can eat."
As Shannon sat holdng Eric all the girls gathered around and cooed their new brother.
"He's so big mom and looks like daddy."
"I know. He's going to be a very handsom boy when he grows up."
"Like we are beautiful? right mom?"
"That's right Serina. All six of you are beyond beautiful."
Smiling widly the girls continued their cooing.
Back at the Hospital.
After Mac left Michael decided to talk with his son again.
"MJ. Can you look at daddy please."
Looking at his father, Michael could see the pain and tiredness behind his sons eyes. Realizing his sons health was most important he said...
"How would you like to stay with Nana and Papa instead of coming home?"
"Oooneeeeeeeest aaaddy?"
"Yeah son. Honest. If you'd like to stay with them I'll understand son. Then once we get your mom better, you can come back home."
"Aaaank ooooooou aaaddy."
"You're welcome son. I love you so much and just want you to get better."
Bending down he kissed his sons head.
"Hey Michael. How's he doing?"
"Good Danny. Hi Lindsay how are you?"
"I'm good Michael. Can I spend some time with MJ?"
"Of course you can. You kids have fun."
Leaving the kids to talk. Michael asked Danny to stay with MJ till he got back.
"Where you off to Michael?"
"I need to talk with Anya. MJ doesn't want to come home. He's decided he would like to stay with my parents. So now I have try and reason with Anya."
Danny was saddened. He knew Michael was going to be walking into a war zone. For we he left Nat there this morning it wasn't good.
"Good luck man."
"Aww..please tell me she's not?"
"Afraid so. She almost took off Nat's head this morning for being a few minutes late. Let's put it this way. You're kids are all at their nana and papas."
Sighing deep Michael walked out.
When he arrived at home he found Natalia cleaning the house.
"Hey Nat. You can stop that please. It's not your home to clean."
"I know Michael. Anya's having a difficult time functioning. So I thought I'd help."
"Thanks. But you could help more if you didn't clean my home. I could really use your help with what I'm about to say to Anya."
"Oh God. You're not leaving her, are you?"
"No. Calm down. I love her. Why would I leave her. It has to do with MJ."
"Oh..she's in the bedroom laying down."
Walking into the room Michael found her with torn pieces of paper all over the carpet.
"Anya. Anya you okay?"
"Hmm..I'm fine Michael. How's MJ?"
"He's fine. A little tired today. But fine."
"Good. So when do we get to bring him home?"
"Well...that's the thing. MJ is going to need extensive care. Lots of space and room for equipment he'll need. So I decided that he'd be better staying with mom and dad. They have more space in their home."
"I don't know Michael. He's our son. I'd like him home with us. This is where he needs to be."
Natalia knew Michael was right. Bringing MJ into this home would be the worse thing for all of them.
"Listen sis. You know I'm older and wiser. I have to agree with Michael on this. With all the equipment he's going to need he is better at his papas."
"Oh sure. Side with Michael. You're my sister you should be understanding me. he's my son and I said he comes home."
Michael hated what he was about to do. But he had no choice.
"No Anya. He's our son. Mine by blood. He'll be staying with my parents. Please try and understand."
"Understand??? You dare tell me to understand."
Getting up she tore at the sheets and tossed them at Michael. As she reached for him he tackled her with care.
"Get me her meds Nat. Now!!!"
Grabbing the kit with the syringe. He jabbed her thigh. Carefully picking her back up he placed her in the bed.
"Shhh...come on Anya. Calm down love. It's going to be okay."
"No it's not Michael. I'm surprised you haven't left me yet. I'm so sorry." She sobbed before falling into sleep.
Leaving the room Nat asked....
"How much more can you take Michael. I have my concerns too. Especially for your other children."
"I know Natalia. But tomorrow is Tuesday. Hopefully they can get to the root of her problems."
"I hope you're right Michael. Cause if they can't, you are going to have to think of other options for her care."
"I know. I know. I need to go see mom and dad. Can you stay with her? She should be out for a while."
"Sure. You go ahead. We'll be fine."
Kissing his sister in law on the cheek. He left.
What is it, did he hear her telling them to let him go?
I want them to talk already.
I find it interesting that you don't have your fics totally planned going in. I can't say I have it down to the last detail but this outline has been in my head for a few *years* now lol
Yup:)
I want them to talk already.
Nope:lol:
Things never work right that way. It's hard to explain. All these ideas pile up, and I write them into my fics. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and I'll take out the chapter or change it. ;) Most times it works.:cool:
Okay...from what I've read up on so far. PTSD can take months or years to surface. These next chapters will focus between Anya's care with her kidnapping(from Darkroom) and MJ's care.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After Michael had everything set up with his parents, he left the kids with them for the night. Stopping by the Hospital to see his son, he found him sound asleep. Kissing him on the head he left. Heading home he noticed the time.

Pulling into the driveway all the lights were off in their home. Knowing Anya was most likely in bed and Natalia had left. Michael unlocked the door and walked upstairs towards his room, as he turned the corner Anya came at him with a knife screaming.

"Get out...get out. You can't take me again. You can't have me back. I'll kill you first."

Michael grabbed her arm and made her release the knife, as she continued to scream.

"Anya!!! Anya. Stop this. Anya it's Michael."

Collapsing with her to the ground she cried.

"I'm sorry Michael. So sorry. It won't stop Michael. He won't leave me alone. He's coming for me. He wants to take me away again."

"Who Anya? Who wants you?"

"Gavin. He's coming. He's always coming."

Hearing silence Michael looked down and noticed she was passed out. Picking her up he placed her in the bed. Covering her up he just sat there watching her sleep.

Once he was sure she was out he called Natalia.

"Hello."

"Nat it's Michael. I've had another episode with Anya. She came at me with a knife. She says that Gavin is coming for her. That he's always waiting to take her. Any idea who Gavin is?"

Natalia thought for a minute. Then it hit her.

"Oh my God. Back in 2006 Anya was kidnapped by a crazed photographer. He terrorized her. I remember her witnessing other girls being killed. Horatio found her for me. God Michael. I think you may have figured out the reason for her mood swings. The anger, the depression, the dreams. She has PTSD. God I never ever thought of that."

"Hmm..thanks for letting me know the details. Now I have something to give the Psychologist today at the meeting. Let's just hope you're right Nat."

"It has to be Michael. Post stress is what it sounds like. She must have kept all that fear and trauma inside her all this time. Something had to have triggered it Michael."

"I'm just wondering if it was MJ's stabbing. The girls gave us some pretty graphic details. It could have triggered her memories."

"Oh Michael. This is a great start. You make sure to call me when you get home with her okay."

"I will. Night Nat."

"Night."

As the hours progressed daylight shone through the window. Michael could feel the tiredness hit him. Slowly closing his eyes he heard Anya wake.

"Michael??? Why aren't you in bed. What's the matter?"

Not wanting to upset her he said...

"You need to get up and dressed Anya. Your appointment is in an hour. I'll wait for you downstairs."

I think they should talk, it could help.

I think I've heard that too, that it can surface a long time after. Nice idea.

"She has PTSD. God I never ever thought of that."

I never thought of it either. Well, at first I thought she was just over-stressed cause of MJ's crisis. But then after her fit when Michael came home (while Nat was still there), I thought maybe she was bi-polar. I never thought about her having post traumatic stress from her kidnapping ordeal. Nice twist, MLA.

Thanks GNRF. I thought a while about going a different route. Then I changed my mind and decided to stay PTSD.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they arrived at the Psychologist. Anya became agitated. Seeing her begin to tremble Michael held her close.
"Come on Anya. I need you to relax sweetheart. Just try and breathe."
She was trying. Why couldn't he understand that. But that man was looking at her. She could see him eyeing her from across the room. Waiting to grab her, take her far away from her family and those she loved.
"Stop looking at me. Stooooooooooooooooooooooooop....she screamed.
Holding her tight she struggled against Michael. Hitting, punching at him.
"Anya!!! Stop Anya."
As the nurse ran to get the doctor everyone stared.
"Nurse bring me 20 mg of Citalopram please."
"Yes Doctor."
Running back out with the syringe the doctor injected Anya in her hip. Watching as she calmed down, the doctor told Michael to bring her in.
"I'm sorry about that. Please help her."
"We will Michael. First we need to find out what is causing these episodes. Do you happen to have any idea? Can you tell me when they started?
"Umm..I thinking it has to do with two events. The first was with my son. He was stabbed a few months back. Injured very badly. We almost lost him. I think it may have brought back horrifying memories for my wife. Two years ago in 2006 she was kidnapped by a crazed photographer. She was forced to watch him murder other young girls he had taken. As well assaulting her. It may have brought back all that she's been keeping hidden."
As the doctor listen she took notes. Taking little breaks to watch Anya as she sat dazed on the couch.
Michael living through or seeing something that's upsetting and dangerous can cause severe depression or even PTSD. Tell me has Anya been having bad dreams? Flashbacks, or feeling like the scary event is happening again? Does she have scary thoughts you can't control? Has she been staying away from places and things that remind her of what happened? How about feelings of guilt, or sadness. Feeling alone. Trouble sleeping. Feeling on edge, angry outbursts, thoughts of hurting others?
"She has. Several times. Ever since our sons assault. At first I thought she was just stressed from all the worry, but as she got worse her sister and I kind of started putting things together. Then last night when I got home she tried to stab me with a knife. Calling me Gavin. After she fell asleep I called her sister to find out if she knew who this guy was. That's when she remembered him being the one that kidnapped Anya."
"This certainly answers alot Michael. Anya! Do you feel like talking to me for a bit?"
Not saying anything. She just continued to stare out to space. As they watched her she finally whispered....
"He wants me back. He;s coming for me. I can see his face everywhere I go. He wants to hurt me again. God his hands....I...I..."
"It's okay Anya. Just breathe deep. I need you to understand that nothing in this room can hurt you. You are safe Anya. I want you to concider this place your safe haven. A place where only you, and your family can enter. This is your place. Yours to keep out all those memories. Do you understand Anya?"
"How..how can I be safe here. He can come here. He can come anywhere he wants to be."
"No Anya. Not here. This is our place. Our secret place that only you, I and your family know about. No matter how hard Gavin tries he can't enter here ever. I promise you this is your safe haven here. This is where you and I are going to talk about all the bad memories you've been carrying. This is the place where we are going to help get you better."
As the doctor watched she could see the drugs take there full affect.
"She'll be quite out of it for a while Michael. What I'd like to do is set up two weekly session for now. Then once we get her feeling more secure and comfortable we will move her to group session. Upon these sessions it's a good idea to have family with her. You will all need counciling. These kind of treatments work best with family involved. I'd also like to start Anya on Propranolol. Low doses of 10-20 mg will help stop panic attacks and reduce the impact of traumatic memories. The medication lasts in the system for 4 hours, she'll be given 4 doses a day to cover a 16 hour span.This will help keep her mood swings under control."
"Umm..once she starts these meds will her episodes decrease?"
"Yes. Basically the medication will help block the nerves that cause her to remember. Once the medication takes affect and an episode starts. It will block it out. As we progress with her further the medication will need to be changed or altered until we get her on the right medication that works best for her."
"Will she heal doctor?"
"Most patients never fully heal Michael. But with Medications, counciling, guidence and love. Most PTSD patients live normal happy lives. Do you have any other concerns? Or things I should know about?"
Michael wasn't sure how to approach about the problem with their son.
"What is it Michael? It helps if I know everything."
"Umm..well my son was in a coma Anya kind of went into a rage. She said some very hurtful things that our son remembers. Now he hates her. So much in fact that I have to have him stay with my parents while he has his therapy sessions. I'm not sure how I can help them heal, or get back to where they were?"
"That's got to be hard Michael. The thing with children is that they can hold grudges for months or even years before they heal from the pain. It might be a good idea to bring him to the session on Thursday. This way he can see what Anya's been dealing with, hopefully it will help him understand better. I can honestly tell you Michael. You and your family have a very long road ahead of you. It sounds like there is alot of pain within all of you. So you bring MJ with you and Anya on Thursday. Bring your father to if you like. Anything that will help your son feel more secure."
Nodding that he understood. He took the perscription from the doctor, along with the next appointment.
"Thank you for everything Dr.Robbets."
"Don't thank me yet Michael. We have a long way to go before you should be thanking me."
Helping Anya up, he walked her to the car.
Thanks for the FB guys. As you can tell this story is being as real as possible. There will be alot more angst, before the healing begins, and life as they know it returns to normal.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Once Michael had Anya home and settled in bed he called Natalia.

"Hello."

"Hi Nat. I was wondering if you could come over and watch Anya for me. She's been heavely sedated and I need to get over to mom and dads for MJ's therapy session."

"Michael you must be dead on your feet. How are you going to keep this up?"

"Don't worry about me Nat. I'm fine."

"Okay. I'll be right there Michael. When you get back I'd like to know what went on today?"

"Sure. I'll fill you in. When you get here you'll find her medication, and some information pamplets. I'll fill you in on the rest when I get back."

Hanging up the phone Michael grabbed a second set of pamplets from the table to take over to his mom and dad. When he arrived Leanne was already there.

"Hi Michael. We were just about to get started. Come on in and have a seat."

Mac could see the tiredness in his son. He could tell he was wearing himself beyond exhaustion again. Leaving the room Mac searched for his wife.

"Sweetheart. I think we have some serious issues with our children that need to be worked out. Our son is in there almost alseep on his feet. I'll be damned if I allow him to make himself sick again by trying to cope with MJ and his wife. I think we all need a better solution here."

"Please Mac. Calm down. You've been on my back about this all week."

Stella was really trying to keep her cool. She was just as stressed as everyone else. MJ required care around the clock. Then she had Michelle to deal with. Their child. The child that was feeling left out. The child who needed help with projects and homework.

"I'm sorry love. I know we are all stressed out. I know there are not enough hours in the day to cover everyone and everything. Danny and Lindsay offered to help, I can't see why you won't let them. Michael is allowing Nat to help with Anya."

"That's different. It's her sister. Danny is no relation to our family by blood. We have no right to ask him to come into this. It's not fair to him. I'm sorry, but no."

"Then let Eric and Mackenzie help. They offered to take MJ a couple nights a week."

"They have a new baby Mac. They have all those girls, and their own stresses. Eric is hardly home. I can't ask Mackenzie to look after MJ and Eric Jr too."

"Fine. Then let's just watch our family fall apart piece by piece."

Storming out of the kitchen Mac headed out onto the porch to cool off.

"Daddy...can you help me?"

Turning around he seen his Michelle with her cauliflower brain in her hand.

"Sure sweetheart. What do you need?"

"I need help marking the different parts of the brain. Then I have to an essay on how it functions."

Sitting down with his daughter he took the book, opened it, and helped her place the colored pins where they belonged. When they were done they headed back into the house.

"I'm going to help mom with lunch daddy. Thank you for helping me."

Kissing his little girl on the head, he whispered...

"You're welcome love."

Heading back into the den Mac found MJ having a screaming fit, while Michael was trying to explain something to him.

"MJ...stop that screaming. Michael what are you doing to him?"

"Nothing dad. I'm trying to explain to him about Thursday."

"What about Thursday son?"

"Anya's Psychologist feels it would be helpful if MJ was there for Anya's session. She thinks it may help MJ understand Anya's PTSD better. Hopefully it will help them heal the hurt between them."

"Did you talk to Leanne about this?"

"I did. She doesn't think it's wise at this time. She thinks it will set back MJ's healing from his stroke."

"She's right Michael. Your son hasn't even had time to come to terms with his own disabilities. Yet you want to add Anya's to it? Use your common sense son. Wait a while. Or you will just have them both pushing themselves into something neither of them are ready for."

"But dad. She's a Psychologist. She knows more. I'm sure she wouldn't put MJ through anything that would hurt him."

"Michael. How much of MJ's situation have you told her. Does she even know he suffered a stroke?"

"Well...we didn't get into detail. I just told her he was in therapy for his assault that happened."

"Listen Michael. I bet my last dollar that if she knew your son suffered a stroke she would tell you herself to wait a while. I'm being honest with you Michael. MJ can't even comprehend basic understanding half the time. There is no way he is going to understand Anya's PTSD."

"God dad this is so fuc......."

"Come on son. I know you're tired. Look at you, you can't keep doing this. You need to get some home care for Anya. I mean when was the last time you had time for your other children. Christ Michael they've been here with me for a week now. They are scared to be at home. If anything it is Caroline and Tyler that should be going right now. They are ones that need understanding in all this."

"I know you're right dad. I know I should have mentioned the stroke. I also should have mentioned Caroline and Tyler. God I'm a horrible father. How could I forget them, leave them out of the loop like that."

"You're tired Michael. You're stressed. All of us are. I think we all need to take the time and have a family sit down about some changes. I also think we need to hire some in care nursing for Anya and for MJ. Christ Michael we are all a mess. We all need to get this sorted out, before we all break. Even I was wrong. I thought your mom and I could handle it, but we can't. So I think this evening you should bring Anya over, and we will all discuss what changes should be made."

"Okay dad. Okay."

Getting up off the floor Michael gave his children a kiss and left for home to explain to Nat about his wifes session today. Then to bring Anya over to their parents and hopefully discuss solutions to their problems.
