Once they had him fully stablized they allowed Lindsay to stay with him.
"Please doctor. How much more can my sons body take? This can't be at all good for his heart or his brain."
"I'm not sure Michael. We are going to run a few more tests in the morning. We want to make sure there isn't something else going on within him. I will say this much though. Your son has amazing will to survive. Anyone coming back after two flatlines is near impossible. Your son has had his fourth. If he lives, It will certainly be a new one for us. We'll be back shortly to check on him."
"Michael exactly what happened after I left?"
"I'm not sure dad. One minute we were whispering to him, and then out of the blue the monitors went off and he flatlined again. I need to get back in there."
"Hold on a little bit son. Let Lindsay talk to him for a while. It might be good for MJ. Let's go get a coffee. Danny will keep an eye on her."
Mac could tell he didn't want to leave. But he also knew Michael needed a break, he had been there since the morning. Heading down to the Coffee Shop Danny kept his eye on the kids. Watching through the glass he seen Lindsay take MJ's hand.
"MJ I kow you can hear me. I miss you MJ. I miss you so much. I want you to wake up soon MJ. You can't leave me alone. I don't know how I'll want to go on without you. Please Michael. Come home."
Laying her head on the bed, she fell into sleep while holding his hand.
Coming back up they found Danny in tears.
"What's wrong Danny? What happened?"
"Nothin man. Look."
Looking through the glass they seen Lindsay sound asleep with her head on MJ's bed.
"I should wake her. she can't be very comfortable."
"Just leave her Michael. Let her sleep."
Nodding his agreement, Michael walked back in and sat beside the kids as he took his sons other hand.
"Why don't you head home Mac. I'll stay with Lindsay."
"Okay Danny. Call me if anything changes."
"I will Mac. Try and rest. Give Stella a hug for me."
Leaving the Hospital for the second time that night. Mac hoped to hell MJ would finally heal.
Once he got home he found his wife with a coffee in her hand.
"How is he Mac?"
Wrapping her in his arms he whispered....
"He crashed again love. But they brought him back again. Though in my mind it was Lindsay who brought him back. As soon as he heard her voice he came back."
Stella didn't find that strange at all. For they were a very close family. A family so tightly bound together with the strongest love.
"So what happens now Mac?"
"They are going to do a few tests in the morning. Just to make sure they're not missing something. I'm afraid the rest of the healing process is up to our grandbaby."
Finishing up their coffee they headed back to bed.
Over at the Delko's Eric was having problems getting Mackenzie to settle down. She was so emotionally upset that she couldn't stop shaking. Leaving Eric to think she may be in shock. Being really concerned for their child he knew he had no choice but to call his mother.
"Hello."
"Hi mom. I'm sorry to wake you."
"It's okay Eric we were already up. MJ had another attack a little while ago. They managed to revive him again."
"God I'm sorry mom. Listen I'm really concerned about Mac. I can't get her to calm down. She's shiver, crying, and breathing heavy. I've tried everything."
"Hold on. Okay. Give the phone to her."
Eric placed the phone by her ear. As she heard her dad sing her song her shiver slowed. Wrapping her tighter Eric just held her as Mac kept singing. It must have been a half hour later she fully stopped and fell into sleep.
"She's sleeping dad. You can stop now."
"Okay son. Are you going to be okay? I know this is stressful for all of us but you need to make sure Mackenzie stays calm."
"I will dad. I can't sleep anyway. I'll just keep holding her and our child who's still kicking up a storm."
"That's normal Eric. He's tuned into her pain. He can feel what she feels. Try humming to him. That might help."
"Okay dad. Night."
"Night son."
Hanging up the phone Eric placed his head on his son and hummed to him. After a few more kicks their child fell into sleep allowing Eric a few hours rest.
