CSI Fan Fiction Critique Group.

AmandaRuth, New York was how I got into this whole CSI thing in the first place and, even though I write mostly Miami now, I still consider it my home. I'd be happy to help with any characterization needs you might have, but I can't PM yet--still a couple of posts shy. You can e-mail me, though, at steinerc[at]umich[dot]edu with your questions.

Well, I'm so glad you guys are so excited about this challenge. I'm hoping some of your enthusiasm will make its way in my direction before Saturday as I'm feeling really tired and very UNinspired right now! I think I need to spend my day off sitting in the park and having a ponder! Except it keeps snowing. Maybe a tea shop instead...?

Hopefully I'll have something by Saturday! If not - well, I'll look forward to reading all yous's stories!!

Leni

^ Lol, I feel rather uninspired as well. It's probably because I've been so tired this week.

But I'll probably have something in. :)

I'm hoping y'all's enthusiasm is contagious. I'm out of town until Friday afternoon, and can't really type out a story on my work laptop. So, whether or not I can submit a story will depend on (1) whether or not I find time between Friday afternoon and Saturday evening to type it up, and (2) whether or not my muse is with me at that time. But, in the meantime i can think about what I want to do and write out some notes.

Come to think of it, I need my muse now too. I'm sure she'd be here if the hotel didn't have satellite tv and there wasn't a storm outside killing the damned satellite link, interrupting my viewing of CSI:M reruns on A&E! Just my luck...

My Easter holiday starts tomorrow (yeah, you heard right, it starts tomorrow because the Easter is on 27th of April here), so maybe, if I get inspiration I`ll write something... I`m looking forward to reading all those fics...

I had a reeeeeeally mean idea for an Eric/Calleigh story... but I decided against it, since I'm not evil enough for this kind of story. *hint*The song would've been Another One Bites The Dust by Queen*hint*

That was on my list of songs that I was thinking of using for mine. I decided against it, of course, but it was an idea.

Guhh. This song thing is IMPOSSIBLE.

I love the song thing!! That may be because I somehow managed to work in to my story "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" aka the theme song to Cheers. It's not actually my favorite, but when we voted on our class song my senior year in high school, that's the one that won.

Yeah, we were an interesting group :wtf:

Anyway, if I can get that in, you guys should be good to go! Good luck to all--can't wait to read 'em!

Bah! No leaving me! No fair!! :p

Try your hardest, I'll share a bit of my muse with all of you. It's been in overdrive today (just not for this :().

:)

My muse is a dog it's a Rottwiler/Goleden Retriever mixed dog named Fitz. Sometimes he abandons me and I'm left to write completely on my own. He was with me for the first half of the writing process for this particular piece. Then right when I needed him most, he abandoned me. So here I lay across the foot of my bed, on my back, with my computer balanced on my knees and I can't think of anything. I have a sinking feeling you're going to be able to pick out the exact place in my story where Fitz left me. I know I can.

The only perk right now is that my REAL dog, Elphie, is laying next to me. She has her head resting on my shoulder and I'm pretty sure she's asleep. Too bad one of her ears is all in my face so I can't see out of my left eye. I still love her though.

Maybe she'll pick a song for me.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Then again, I wish my dog would cuddle with me. He won't even lay on the bed when I get in it anymore...just glares at me and jumps off like I offended him. But then he lays as close to the bed as he can get, and all is forgiven :p

And now the non-inspiration virus you guys have been passing around has hit me, too!! I have a great idea--I even have a decent outline floating around in my head, but I can't get it to go through my fingers and onto the nice little computer screen :scream:

Maybe we should look into purchasing a time-share at the local mental hospital together, eh? I think if we told them about LLK's muse we'd totally be in!

I guess now isn't the time to say I've done?

I've just got to work the song in, which is simple. Picking it is difficult. Hahaha.

My dogs are too hyper to lay down, they're puppies.

You guys can come join my mental hospital, they're nice here ;)

Actually I've just now been struck by a bit of inspiration and I think I might have a way to work the song in and end the story all in one fell swoop. The story is going to be short, sickeningly so. It'll only take maybe another page to finish... BUT I was inspired.

And for the record. My dog left me a few minutes after I made that post. Apparently she didn't like me bragging about her. Now she's on the other end of the bed. Skank. It's okay I keep waking her up and playing with her ears. I think I bit one a few minutes ago... I do that sometimes.

I probably shouldn't have a dog. I pick on her way too much.

As for my muse... Fitz was the absolute favorite character I've ever written in any fanfiction I've ever written with an OC. He's my pal. I found a picture of what he would look like online and I keep it saved in a folder on my desktop. I'm not TOTALLY crazy just because I have a face and a name for my muse. It comes in all shapes and forms for people. I just knew that when I wrote Fitz back when I did that he was it... he made writing just happen.

So that's what I need? A dog! I guess Derek just isn't the same. He keeps slithering across my keyboard and what he produces ain't exactly Shakespeare! Hell, what d'you expect from a snake?!!

LLK - if I see Fitz, can I borrow him for a while before I send him home? I promise to give him a nice juicy bone if he inspires me!
