Coolness! I don't know if I can muster up the nerve to write to my favorite actors for an autograph though. Once when I was younger and did that all I got was an invitation to join a fan club, grr.

Heh... I wrote Eric Szmanda over a year ago, just to let him know I really enjoyed his work. I put in an envelope with my own address, but without a stamp. (I live in the Netherlands, and I really didn't know how to get a hold of an American stamp.) I didn't actually think I would get a reply, so I kinda forgot about it. And then, around the same time Wojo got her mail, I got one too. Imagine my surprise and glee. *hearts Eric like woah*

    I am repeating this question:

What size envelope should I use for the SASE? I have a letter to send to George Eads on behalf of my daughter and I haven't sent it yet because I'm not sure what size envelope to use and how much postage to put on it! I'm in the US.

    Thanks!

Just make sure it's big enough to fit a 8x10 picture in it. :)

I would like to be able to advise you Hankster, but as I live in the UK, I can't really comment on postage costs in the US. I would advise sending a fairly large SAE though - maybe 8 x 10, folded in half. I have received a few autographed pics in the past from non-CSI stars (David Caruso aside) and each time I have sent this size of envelope. :)

Hankster, a 9x12 manilla envelope should do the trick. Just fold it in half and include it with the letter.

The only autographs i've ever sent for were NASCAR drivers and those were easy just sent some trading cards..which you can buy at walmart.. I got tons back.

Usually the actor or the publicist has stock headshots that are used for this kind of promotion. However, many people print .jpeg pics of the internet and send them now.

What about Marg Helgenberger, has anyone written her and got something back? Anyone?

I don't live in USA but i would really like to get Marg's autograph. If i've understood right, normally people send an envelope with the letter. But I don't have US stamps for the envelope... What should I do? Ideas?
