cold case

Thank's Dynamo1 I'm glad you told us, It was listed in the TV Guide at 10, so luckily I DVR'd it and it was on a 9:bolian:

This was a different twist it was 1983 in Chinatown~recap~
Started with two teenagers walking and talking then the boy Jack Chou-lu goes to his dads store, a gang type guy gives him a dirty look, and he tells dad 'It's OK" He joes with his brother about the girl Tam, his brother says "Dad better not find out, or he'll have a stroke" Jack goes "What'll he do when I marry her" Bro says "You need to grow up" he replys "Why, so I can be like you"? then it skips to a dark ally and Jack is dead~

Goes to Lily and her boyfriend, he wants her to call in sick, she won't~

Jakc's mom comes to police station, and waited so long because her husband didn't believe the police would help, but now that he died, she wanst some resolve. They weren't happy with Jack going with Tam, cause she was from Viet-Nam and that was verboten in those days. although she was Chinese~ Then she told him about the gang Dragon Boys. The the girls dad came in to see if they found his daughters killers. There was a Chinses parade and a hail of gunfire errupts and she's shot to death~

Old Chinsee business men are in control the the gang members~

Boss talks to former undercover cop Ray and says Jack "was out for revenge" and the cop then caught Jack with a pocket knife~ told him to cool it.

Cousin comes to see Lily and brings her the Hisbicus tea she likes, and was out of when she went to his store!

Lily and boyfriend meet up and he's driving a Mazirati Italian sports car, they go to the beach and he gives her a diamond braclet, and they watch the sun rise.[This is a ongoing romance that looks promising]

The team then finds Stacy who was 6 when Jack died and she dummies up, but then after thinking it over has instant recall It was this businessman Bolin-Chen. They threatned him with closing his sweat shops and brothels and Casinos if he doesn't coperate and tell them what they want to know~ he blabs~

Jack was Chinese but didn't get the concept on what was really going on or accept the way things were run, he got busted with a tape recorder, by the gang members, and they asked him if he was in cohoots with the cops?

Them boss calls back in Ray the cop and he was accpeting bribes, he said the last time he saw Jack he was at a flop house but he didnt' know what happened to him Jack goes to Ray "No wonder everything is so messed up around here, your as same as the bad guys"

He was a chicken s... and refused to trun in the Dragon Gang, saying "You cut off the head of a Dragon, and another one grows back". Then they find the old tapes that Jack had recored and lo and behold it was his brother which the mother confirmed. He was involved in shipping heroin, using his dads truck. Jack ran amok and they have a confrontation and Jack goes "You've shamed the family" said "your not my brother anymore" and went off to tell his dad. His brother called and yelled for him to stop but he kept walking and so he shot him in the back:( then showing the earlier younger brother and the now one in handcuffs, being taken away~

The last scene poignant. showing the two parents who'd lost both their children sitting having tea and the children Jack and Tam standing a short distance off and smiling at them~

The song playing in the background was "Every Breath You Take" The Police~

Good interesting episode, the tradtional way of life in that era with the Chinese people~

From 1999~ It was about a 'debater' Luke Camerson who was the best there was, but turned jp dead. 10 years later a new guy showed up and told Lily he had his old papers, and at the time everyone thought he'd shot himself:( So who did it?

Oliver also good but jealous, they of course found him. Also his other friend Ronnie who caught him taking anphetimines, to stay up late and study, and they fought over them. And Melissa another contestant who was jealous. His dad who was a manic-drepressed alcoholic, and the Coach who was in it for the glory that he's picked him. His dad did say one thing, that stuck with him "The only one that can judge you is you" which he lived by. He did find his dad with a gun and took it aways from him, cause he was afraid he'd shoot himself. Then he realized that he needed to take care of him and quit the debate team.

He called his coach and in the car told hm he was quitting and the coach ran amok, grabbed the gun and shot him then put the gun in his hand, so it looked like he shot himself. Lily and Scottie, interogated him and he broke down and admitted the shooting:(

Aways a great tear jerker episode~

From 1980 was about Ice Hockey, not the best one ever but still interesting. Tommy was the star and his buddy Dwight was a 'loser' and had an one night stand with Tommy's girl Molly and she became pregnant. So bottom line at the end Tommy was so furious when he found out, he went out the ice rink, to chill out.. and Dwight came to say "hi" and they got into it, over Molly and Tommy called him a 'loser' and he ran amok. Dwight slammed him over the head with a hockey puck.. What was cool, the sound track from Bob Seger, especially "Against The Wind" great song:thumbsup:

Kathryn Morris [Lily] was one of the presenters last night on the Peoples Choice Awards. She's so pretty and so sweet, and I just read that she's 40:wtf: I swear I thought she was about 28. New episode this Sunday~

The 2005 murder of an Army recuiter is investigated

Tgis episode was fro2005, and was about Mike, who recruited troubled teesn to join the military, and how great it would be and help their lives~He was found dead in an ally behind a pawn shop with the stolen jewerly on his person~

Bumper comes to see Lity, telling her he was with him when the pawn shop was robbed. She goes "why did you wait 5 years" he goes "I was over in Iraq, but found out this happend and wanted to right it for him"

Mike was always going over to hlep Victoria who had an abusive dad, and his wife Kristin was scared he'd wind up dead, for butting in~

I also touched don Lily and her dad and half brother from her dads 2nd wife who was played by Mere Winningham, [great actress]. The had a hugh figh in the car and she came out and told them all to come in, then told Lily that "like it or not, she was a part of this new family" Lily goes "OK"~

So who killed MIke. he was always there helping out these kids and was traumatized by one kid Johnny who got killed by a sniper in Iraq, and the guilt was overwhelming, plus a kid who's dad hated his guts, for encouraging him to join up~

The lo-and-behold his wife Kristin had it out with him and told him to leave the military, and she'd had a one-night-stand with his surpervisor Gomez, cause he was never there for her~

He immidiately went over to the recruting center and confronted Gomez and punched him out, then they sat on the floor and started drinking, and he told him that "he was deployed to Iraq" and he got a phone call and left hurridly~

He went over to where of all people Victoria was hiding in an ally, and she told him she broke into the pawn shop, he goes "I'll help you" and then dropped the bombshell [to her] that he was "leaving for Iraq in two days".

She goes "your leaving me, how can you help me if you leaving"? and she'd failed her 1st test for admission as a recuriter and started screaming and he kept telling her he'd help, but she was so angry she shot him:eek: So that was a stunner, how much he'd helped her and now [and BTW she was now a recuriter, [past her 2nd test] helping the same kids he'd helped. Good episode as always~

THis was in 1974..and starts with Harry Denton a PI, who is really sleazy in his work ethics. A woman comes in his office who she had hired to follow her husband, and he found pictures of him with another woman. He shows them to her and she slugs him~ Then we see him dead in a elevator type bottom floor~

Skippng ahead to now a construction crew discovers bones, and Lily and her team find it was Harry!

The find his old secretary, Lana amazing after all these years, who knows nothing. She thought he'd split town~

They find his last client Caroline Hardgrove, who hired harry to find her step-daughter, who later we find out was stashed away in N.J~

Then Lily finds Caroline, [who miraculously had a different eye color, from brown to blue:rolleyes:] she claims to know nothing as well, but didn't trust Harry~ LIly goes back to see Lana, and says "You left a few things out" She it seems was following Harry to see what he was up too" s she betrayed her own boss. His body guard French was behind the taking of Bunny the daughter~

More mystery, the woman Caroline had poisioned her first husband and Bunny thought she'd that she'd done the same thing to her dad. Jeremy finds French in a bar drinking and they get into a fist fight, then sit down and French reveals that they'd stashed Bunny cause she knew her stepmom had poisioned her dad with FOXGLOVE a plant and put the leaves in a soup. She killed both husbands Wilson a client had shot Harry, because he'd turned a new leaf, and had cleaned up his act, and was going to tell on Wilson [cause he knew] and when he turned around to walk out of the office he shot him in the back~Great 70's music, Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" [also done by Rod Stewart] amd "Here I Am Stuck In The Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel~

Good exciting who-done-it episode:bolian:

From the new TV Guide [Feb.8-14] has some news about shows that are maybe in trouble of getting canceled~

CBS Last year, the network had to choose between "Without A Trace", and "Cold Case", both long running series with declining ratings. "Cold Case" survived, but next fall CBS will want it's Sunday-night real estate to launch something new. While it's never a good sign when a network reduces the number of episodes as CBS did with "Numb3rs", entertainment CEO Nina Tassler says it's "absoutely in contention" for renewal along with other Friday dramas "Ghost Whisperer" and "Medium". Look for two out of three to return I sure hope it isn't "Cold Case" it's such a great show:bolian:

From this weeks TV GUIDE Feb.-15 an article about this show~

Running away to join the circus has never seemed so frightening. With a mean-spirted ringmaster, a jealous dagger-thrower and an assortment of creepy carnies, the run-down traveling spectacle featured in this week's 1971 case is far from the greatest show on Earth. But it is the ideal setting for a murder. "It isn't Barnum & Bailey's, it's a very pared-down, desperate version of that", says co-star Danny Pino, who co-wrote the episode [with Alan Glass] focusing on the death of a high-flying aerialist. Ramshackle as it may be, the Jonas Brothers Circus lends an other worldly air to the tale. "There's a very surreal nature to it, with it's colors and costumes", says Pino, citing inspiration for the tale from a circus class he took during grad school at NYU. "We were taught how to juggle, walk the tightrope and spin plates" But it's records by his favorite band The DOORS' music that Pino decided to spin for this weeks episode's soundtrack. 'We needed a foreboding score, and the DOORS' music was a perfect marriage", says Pino, before hinting at some strange days ahead for his character, Scotty Valens. "Valens might go vigilante", he teases, "he might go rogue' Sarah Palin watch your bouffant"

This episode was from 1982, with kids/thugs spray painting graffiti all over the place. cut, one is found dead Carlos, and why and who did it?

The mom of the dead kid brings his backpack to the office to show Lily and Scotty and they ask "was he sniffing the paint" she thought he was and kicked him out. she said "I barely saw him", before they found him due to the fact she was working 3 jobs~

They find his backpack and the word "anarchy" written in it, which in those days was a "declaration of turf war"

Other issues haunting Lily, MO filed a complaint against her for 'stalking' him~
[Anthony La Paglia's brother is a new cast member] and gave it to her, she coped an attitude and was cocky about it~

Lily and Scotty start intergoating people from the past [and it always amazes me that they find these people]they talk to a guy named Doc who's turned his life around to help poor kids in the hood~

He recalls a guy named Turbo or "King Tut" as they called him, who he states is still spray painting everywhere 3 decades later~

Also a girl from then named Ginna, who knew Carlos, they interview her, she says she never saw him on the day he died~

Scotty with his folks and found out his mom who was mugged was also raped, the expressions on his face, how devastated he was~

Doc was re-interviewd, he tells them to go go down to the sewer where Carlos had painted a mural, they do~

Bottom line this Turbo was jealous, cause he was a better artist than he was, and he'd painted "King Tut" Snitch" he was furious and knew Carlos was gonna snitch him out for spray painting churches, parks etc. he told him "take it down" and a confrontation insued, and he hit Carlos, and sprayed a whole can of paint down his throat, thus killing him, then covered it up~

The "CARS" singing "Since You've Gone", nice touch as the last sound track, in the last scene, and all Carlos's friends going to put flowers where he died, and of course his ghost smiling, always a tear jerker:(

This episode was from 1971, and congrat. to Danny Pino, who co-wrote this ep. [Scotty] what a fox:p a circus environment~

An aerialist Mia falls to her death. An accident or not? Boss calls in Lily because the guy she was scared of, who had threatened her was shot to death, and he strips her of her gun and her duties till this is solved. She's a suspect~

They talk to a fomrer curcus clown Cleo. and he said that Mia rigged her own devices. and everyone thought it was just a horrific accident, but a psychic said it was murder, she was already dead when she fell~

They then talk to a little person called Biggie, he helped Mia he said~

Then Hank [Joe Penny] came in and confessed that he shot Mo, cause he blamed him for his daughters death sometime back~

Scotty goes to talk to another circus freak called Gargantuan, real name Lester. He immediatley attacks Scotty, thinking he was there to rob him. Scotty overpowers him and he's taken to to the station. He claims that a circus rigger who was doing drugs, and Mia found out and fired him, and BTW, it was Paul Milander from CSI. I don't know the actors real name. Still creepy. He clams he didn't do anything to her. Thye did go out on a kinda of date.

Jumping to the conclusion, Mia found out that Biggie was doing fake ticket sales, selling more tickets than there were seats, and she was going to tell the police, as she went to leave Gargantuan grabbed her and snapped her neck. The placed her in the aerial contraption, and she fell out of it and was dead. Biggie ratted out Lester and visa versa.~ the music throught was by the DOORS the last song appropriate "People Are Strange" Interesting show. Circus folks are a bit strange, in this epsiode especially~

A more recent year 2008 and two weddings, one went bad, and the would be groom ended up dead, and then it skipped up to now, and the same girl marrying a new guy. So, what happened to the first groom murder, or sucicide?

The whole team was here, all decked out Lily looked beautiful, in a stunning green gown. Scotty bantering with the brides mom, who thought he looked like a banker, and he let her think that, with a sly grin. They were actually trying to find out what happened to the first goorm, so were asking questions, that seemed neutral~

The first would be groom called offo the wedding the night before, because he was already married, but his wife was in a coma from a boating accident, and Ana [new girl] looked similiar to her. The sister tried to seduce him, but his best man busted them before hand~

Dan, thought his wife had called his name, but before she died she did call out his name. he couldn't go through with this wedding. and jumped to his death as his horrified friend/bestman watched.~

Ana married an old co-worker, who had always loved her, much to the mothers objections~Many more scenerios, but too long to post`

Then the whole team was drinking and partying and having fun, and Dan as a ghost was smiling seeing Ana happy, and she saw him.. TEARS:(

It's my first time to watch Cold Case last Sunday. I can that that episode is great! It's smart that they got a chance to investigate the 'murder' in a wedding reception. I'm convinced that Dan really commited suicide. He dumped Ana and knew that Melanie just died. It's sad. However, in real life, I asked myself, shouldn't the investigators found no evidence of struggle and bruises that might be consistent with pushing and concluded that it was suicide? Anyway, the suicide just happened in 2008. Not bad that it was solved after 2 years.
