Police seek Chris Brown sought in alleged beating

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say they're investigating an alleged domestic violence felony battery report involving Chris Brown.

The police department says in a release the 19-year-old R&B singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Sunday when they began arguing.

Police say Brown and the woman got out of the car and the argument escalated.

Police say the woman identified Brown as her attacker. Officers say Brown wasn't at the scene.


The woman turns out to be Rihanna.

If the news are true, the guy's career will be pretty much over (and if it happens, he deserves it).
 
Will Smith was voted the most bankable star in Hollywood in a survey of industry professionals by Forbes.com. The financial magazine's Web-site gives the actor a score of 10 out of 10 for his bankability in it's first "star currency" list, complied by surveying more than 150 industry professionals. Following Smith on the list are Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio who all tied for second with a score of 9.89. Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Matt Damom and Jack Nicholson rounded out the top 10. Smith's superior box-office clout has been long established. He's known for "owning" the July Fourth weekend box office with films such as "Independence Day" and "Men In Black" but has had a few flops~

Mexican officials have detained an Austrian woman accused of stalking CSI star David Caruso. Austrian prosecutors say the woman sent the American actor more than 100 letters, pursued him for an autograph and then sent him death threats [wacko] when he refused to give her one. She was charged with stalking and threatning to kill Caruso, but failed to show up for court in 2007 and was believed to be on the run. Tijuana police said Friday they detained the woman with the help of a blog titled "The Stalker Chronicles", dedicated to the woman's arrest. She was turned over to immigration officials late Thrusday and will likely be deported~

In her first statement since she was allegedly attacked by Chris Brown, Rihanna thanked her fans for their support, but declined to address the accusations against her boyfriend, citing on ongoing police investigation. "At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown read the statement released by Rubenstein Associates. "She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time"

Engaging Christensen & Bilson
Hayden Christensen, who played young Anakin Skywalker in the "Star Wars" films, reportedly popped the question to actress Rachel Bilson over the holidays, according to People.
Although Bilson's rep wouldn't comment, a friend of the former star of "The O.C." claims she's "thrilled beyond belief."

Danes Engaged
"Claire Danes and her boyfriend, British actor Hugh Dancy, are making it official.
Danes' rep confirms to the celeb mags that the star and Dancy are engaged. The two met on the set of the 2007 film "Evening" and have been together ever since.
There's no word yet on when Danes, 29, and Dancy, 33, plan to get married. It will be the first marriage for both."

Salma Hayek Weds
"Salma Hayek said "I do" instead of "Be mine" this Valentine's Day.
The actress married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault this past Saturday, Feb. 14, in France, reports the Le Point newsmagazine.
Hayek, 42, and Pinault, 46, exchanged vows in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in Paris."

Swanson Ties the knot
"What started as a reality-show pairing has turned into a life partnership for actress Kristy Swanson and professional figure skater Lloyd Eisler.
Swanson, 39, and Eisler, 44, got married Saturday (Feb. 7) in San Luis Obispo, Calif., in front of 100 guests. They have been a couple since being paired on the FOX show "Skating with Celebrities" in 2006.
"It was awesome and I feel amazing," Swanson tells People. "[The ceremony] was perfect" -- even though, she says, Eisler's cell phone, which he'd neglected to silence, rang near the end.
The couple have a 2-year-old son, Magnus, together. Eisler also has two children from a prior marriage; all three kids were in attendance Saturday. Swanson and Eisler's first dance was to Edwin McCain's "I'll Be," which they skated to on the FOX show."

Costner Welcomes New Baby

The "Dances With Wolves" star and his wife Christine Baumgartner welcomed a baby boy into the family on Thursday night (Feb. 12) in Los Angeles, report news sources.
The boy, Hayes Logan Costner, weighed 8 lbs., 15 oz. at birth.
He and Baumgartner were hitched in a Western-themed wedding at his 165-acre ranch near Aspen, Colorado in September 2004.
Together they already have another son, Cayden Wyatt. Costner also has four other children: Anne, Lily and Joe from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva and Liam with Bridget Rooney, whom he dated shortly after his divorce."

Sorvina Expecting Third Child
"Mira Sorvino is going for an offspring hat trick.
The Oscar winner and her husband Chris Backus are expecting their third child, reports People.
"We are overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new addition to the family," they say in a statement. "With each child the love in our hearts has expanded beyond what we ever imagined was possible."
Sorvino, 41, and Backus, 27, already have two children: daughter Mattea, 4, and Johnny, 2.

'Heroes' Sweetheart split
"Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia will keep their relationship in the family -- on screen that is.
The "Heroes" sweethearts have called it quits, reports Usmagazine.com.
A source close to the couple tells the magazine that it was the age and lifestyle differences that caused the split last week. At 19, Panettiere "is young. She likes to go out in the Hollywood scene and that's not his style," whereas Ventimiglia at 31 "has been concentrating on work on his production company [Divide Pictures]."
 
SNOOP DOGG has made an apperance at the Nations of Islam's annual convention in a Chicago suburb. Wearing sunglasses, a dark suit and a tie, the rapper spoke briefly in front of a crowd of thousands Sunday and praised the Chicago-based momement's Minister Louis Farrakhan Farrakham has long held relationships with famous rappers and hip-hop artists. Snoop whose real name is Calvin Broadus, called him the self leader of the "hip-hop community" and says he'll always seek out that minister. Snoop gave a $1,000donation to the Nation of Islam, then sat on stage and smiled and nodded as Farrakham delivered a speech!

The Jonas Brothers have visited fans on familiar turf, making a surprise appearance at a suburban New York theater, they frequented while growing up. The pop stars stop at Palisades Center on Saturday was one of several around the country to promote their new film "Jonas Brothers:The 3D Concert Experience" The West Nyack apperance was something of a homecoming for Joe, Kevin and Nick, who were rainsed in nearby Wyckoff, N.J. Seven-time Grammy winner Gloria Estefan has performed to many packed areanas worldwide in a career spanning more than two decades. But for the first time she is taking her greatest hits tour to South America. Estefan announced plans to open in Uruguay on April 9 as she embarks on a tour with stops in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador. The Cuba native told a Miami news conference that getting back to Latin America brings her "full circle". The show comes less than a year after her European tour to promote "90 Milias" a Spanish-language album of original songs inspired by Cuba!

Elizabeth Taylor has expanded her philantrophy with a $100,000 donation to the Alliance for Christian Education. The 77-yr. old Oscar winning actress says she was inspired by Barack Obama's call for Americans to "reach across the aisle" of political and ideological divide. For decades Taylor's philanthropy has focused on HIV/AIDS. In a statement, Taylor--who is Jewish--says she chose to underwrite the Christian initiated education effort "because our new president challenged us to break down barriers that divide us" The donation to the Santa Barbara based organization will help fund the alliance's pilot program for global outreach and the Providence Hall Christian high school!

For the first time in the magazine's nine years, Oprah Winfrey's "O" mag. features Oprah sharing the cover with another person, and that would be first lady Michelle Obama. Inside, Winfrey asks Obama to share her feelings about her 'new job'. "I know that all I can do is be the best that I can", Obama says. "Giving back is a big part of that, How am I going to share this with the American people? I'm always thinking about that!

The Mentalist's Maxine Bahns Welcomes a Daughter

It's a girl for The Mentalist's Maxine Bahns. The actress gave birth to a daughter named Madison Rose, on Sunday in Santa Monica, Calif., People reports. Madison, who tipped the scales at 6 pounds 2 ounces, is the first child for Bahns and her husband, professional adventure racer Patrick Watson.

"Madison is doing great and the happy parents are excited to bring her into their home," a rep said.

Bahns had picked out her daughter's name in advance. "I love the nickname Maddie," she said. "And my husband's mom's name is Rosemary, so we wanted to honor her by giving our daughter the name Rose."

Bahns and Watson have been married since 2007.

Anna Nicole Smith's boyfriend Howard K. Stern and two doctors were charged Thursday with giving thousands of prescription drugs to the former Playboy playmate in the year's leading up to her 2007 fatal overdose. Stern and the doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were each charged with 3 felony counts of conspiracy and several other charges of fraudulent prescriptions. Prosecutors said the doctors gave the drugs--including opiates and benzoiazepines--to Stern, who then gave them to Smith. The prescriptions were issued between June 2004 and January 2007, just two weeks before her death!

Kevin Spacey is getting another honor. Spacey will receive the National Poll Award for Distinguished Arts at a gala event in June. The award is named for Claiborne Pell, a former Rhode Island senator who died Jan. 1. The Trinity Repertory Company said Thursday that it had selected Spacey for the award because of his dedication to live theater and film, as well as his humantarian work. Former recipients of the award include Arthur Mller, Toni Morrison and Robert Redford!

Reports: Natasha Richardson in critical condition

MONTREAL (AP) - British actress Natasha Richardson was in critical condition in a Montreal hospital after being severely injured in a skiing accident in Quebec, according to published reports.

People.com and IrishCentral.com reported that the Tony award-winning actress and wife of Liam Neeson suffered a head injury Monday and is in a Montreal hospital.

People.com said Richardson was initially taken to a hospital near the luxury Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, and was later transferred to the Montreal hospital.

Richardson, 45, is the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson. She married Neeson in 1994 after they both appeared in the film "Nell" and they have two sons.

Richardson won a Tony award for best actress in a musical in 1998 for her role in "Cabaret." Her film credits include "The Parent Trap" and "The Handmaid's Tale."

In January, Richardson and her mother played the roles of mother and daughter in a one-night benefit concert version of "A Little Night Music," the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical, at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York.

Rapper Eminem, guitar legend Jimmy Page and Ron Wood:bolian: of the Rolling Stones are among the presenters for this year's ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME induction ceremony in Cleveland. The ceremony will be held April 4 at Public Auditorium. Inductees were chosen by the 600 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. Artists are eligible 25 years after their first record is released. Run-D.M.C. will be inducted by Eminem, Jeff Beck will be inducted by Page, best known for his work with The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin. Wood will induct Bobby Womack. Natasha Richardson has been laid to rest near the home in New York's Hudson Vallery where she wed Liam Neeson Neeson, in a dark suit and sunglasses, was among the pallbearers who carried his wife's coffin Sunday into St. Peter's Episcopal Chruch in Lithgow. Richardson was buried at a nearby cemetary. Neeson arrived at the tiny white clapboard chruch with the couple's sons and his mother-in-law Venessa Redgrave. Also among the mourners were Ralph Finnes, Alan Rickman and Laura Linney!

Bruce Willis has tied the knot for the 2nd time. The actor's publicity agent said Willis, 54, married Emma Heming in a small private ceremony at his home in Parrot Cay in the Turks & Calcos Islands. The couple met through mutual friends more than a year ago. This is the 1st marriage for Heming , a 30-yr. old actress. Guests included Willis' 3 daughters from his first marriage to actress Demi Moore Rumer, 20, Scout, 17, and Tallulah Belle, 14 as well as Moore and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher. The couple plan to hold a civil ceremony when they return to California!

MADONNA is expected to arrrive Sunday in Malawi, as the star's plans to adopt a second child from the poor African country began to draw criticism. Friday, a welfare official and a person involved in the adoption proceedings said the singer plans to adopt a 7-year-old girl. Save the Children UK, a British children's charity, has urged Madonna to "think twice" before adding another African child to her celebrity family~

HOLLY MADISON from "Dancing With The Stars" has injured her rib-cage. She began feeling pain in that area last week while rehearsing for the show. Madison saw a doctor Thursday and was prescribed medication, said her publicist Steve Flynn. She will rest when she can and expects to dance on Monday's show. VANESSA REDGRAVE has rescheduled her benefit performance of the stage version of "The Year of Magical Thinking" at New YOrk's Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. It will be held in Oct. insteod of April. Redgrave's eldest daughter Natasha Richardson died March 18 of injuries suffered in a skiing accident~

Richard Chamberlain had more than 3,000 fans celebrate his 75th B-day party. Fans feted the Chamberlan on Tuesday during the opening night of "Spamalot" at the Palace Theater in Cleveland. After the curtain fell, the audience rose to it's feet and sang "Happy Birthday" while a fellow cast member presented him with a cake on stage. Chamberlain starred as the heartthrob in the '60's' TV series "Dr. Kildare" and the hughly sucessfully "Thornbirds" a mini series. The stage veteran plays King Arthur in the touring musical based on the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"~

Oprah Winfrey said 7 students have been punished for breaking the code of conduct in her school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa, the second controversy to hit the fledgling institution since it opened in 2007. Winfrey representative Don Halcombe said Wednesday that 4 students were expelled and 3 were suspended last week from her Leadership Academy for Girls outside Johannesburg. Halcombe declined to say what led to the violations because there are monors involved and if was a confidential matter. South African media have reported that the 7 girls were accused of tring to force students into relationships and to engage in sexual contact~
