Ryan takes off in the Hummer, leaving Delko behind with Alexx. He gets to the scene and the area is quite different then the last one. The last scene was in a nice neighbor, one that murders usually don't happen in. The area's was only a few blocks apart but they were so different. This was a known bad area, people didn't walk the streets at night unless they were the ones causing the problems. Even going into the area during the day was a bit scary, even for him. He was very alert of his surroundings. He knew he had to give it his full attention. He could see the scene up ahead, there were tons of units at this scene for more backup.

He walks up to Trip,” hey sorry it took me so long to get here, we got a bit confused. So what do you have for me?” Frank rubs his chin,” well it looks like a drug deal gone wrong and this numb nuts lost out.” Ryan looks down at the victim,” did you search his clothing?” Ryan kneels down to the body. “No I didn’t, that’s what you’re here for. I don’t want to stick my fingers in some crack heads pockets.” He says with a grin. Ryan looks up at quickly,” that’s funny Frank.”

He pulls out his equipment setting everything up. He takes pictures of the body then carefully searches through his belongings. Franks comes back over to him,” Wolfe, some witnesses say that this guy was the head of this drug den here. It looks like someone else has taken over now.” Ryan stands up,” well when I get back to the lab I’ll have Cooper go through his cell. I didn’t find any drugs on him, he’s clean.” Ryan searches the area for evidence, trying to hurry because he’s has a full load today. He packs up and heads back to the lab.

While he’s putting his equipment away an old buddy from patrol comes up to him,” Wolfe is that you?” Ryan turns around recognizing him right away,” yeah it’s me, how’s it going Jones’s? “He shakes Ryan’s hand,” it’s going good. So you moved up, big time csi now huh. I just got back in town. I couldn’t take being up North anymore, this is where I belong.” Ryan looks at his badge,” so you came back down here and got back in patrol, good for you. I knew you wouldn’t like being up there. You couldn’t get me to go back North for anything.” Jones laughs,” well it took me two winters to figure it out.” Ryan looks around,” well it was great seeing you, but I have to get my evidence back to the lab. Maybe we can hook up for some beers sometime.” Jones grabs his arm,” hey can we hook up tonight maybe and talk about your case. I may have something for you, something about some dirty cops involved in this. I’ve been hearing things.” Ryan looks into his eyes,” what are you talking about? Like cops dealing drugs?” Jones glances around nervously,” sshhh, we can’t talk here. Here’s my number call me and we’ll talk then.” Ryan takes the paper,” I’ll call you later.” Jones punches her arm,” congrates man, you deserve this.” Ryan raises his brow,” thanks man. I’ll make sure I don’t mention your name in this.” On the drive back Ryan’s mind is racing with thoughts of bad cops in the department. He hopes his friend is wrong, but he’s not about to look over it.

(Note: For some reason, half of the thread has just dissapeared for me. I hope posting this will fix it. Dutchie, PM me or Twiz if you want to know what has happened/where we were going with this. We'll help you catch up as quick as we can ;))

Eric looked into the mirror plastered to his locker door, adjusting his tie. He had finished processing his crime scene and all the evidence had been taken to it's rightful labs to be analysed. Now all he had to do was wait for Ryan to return. He peered down at his watch. They still had plenty of time, at least he could use it to go over his case notes again. He had the entire case set out in the layout room. It had taken him hours to print copies of all the photos and documents but it had been worth it to see it visually, it really helped him to get things into context.

Eric was feeling very confident about the case, the DA had said it would be a dead cert. It was nice when all their hard work paid off, and the case was really helping to him get over Marisol's death, or at least put it out of his mind for the time being.

He remembered the late nights he and Calleigh had spent together preparing for cases. She was so fussy about how her evidence was laid out, as Ryan had learnt in his early days as a CSI. It warmed his heart when he thought about the moments they used to share, but as soon as that feeling came, it was replaced with one of saddness when he realized just how far they had drifted apart. He missed her; and he was pretty sure she felt the same way. Although so much had gone on between then and now that they had barely had the time to reflect on the past, or maybe it was just too painful to be around the person that you had experienced such horrors with.

He was brought out of his reverie by Ryan bundling through the door, suited up with a box of evidence from the vault in hand. Eric eyes met his colleauges, "Hey man, you ready to go?"

Ryan walks into the locker room finally ready for court. After an already exhausting day now he had to go get on a stand to testify. To him it was the worse part of the job.

He looks down the row of lockers spotting Delko in his best suit,” yeah believe it or not I’m ready.”

To both of their surprises court was quick and painless. Both were only on the stand for a few moments and only asked a couple simple questions. On the way back the Hummer was quiet, and Ryan hated it. It set his mind free to think about things he didn’t want to think about, a certain somebody he didn’t want to think about. He thought about his conversation he had with his old buddy. He felt sick at the thought of dirty cops being in the department. He wasn’t sure if he could even believe it. Maybe he should get someone’s opinion on how to handle it, if it’s true.

He glances over at Delko,” hey do you mind if I ask you your opinion of something?” Delko gripped the steering wheel,” sure go for it Wolfe.” Ryan had second thoughts, oh what the hell.” I saw an old friend from patrol today at my scene.” Delko glances at him without saying anything but Ryan knew he was thinking,” Yeah so what.” Ryan fiddles with his jacket,” he told me that he’s been hearing things around the department, things about…… dirty cops.” Delko looks over at him quickly but doesn’t say anything.” He thinks they may be involved in my drug case. I’m supposed to meet him tonight to talk about it.” He looks over at the older csi for his opinion or advice.

Natalia got back from the bullistics lab with the results back from the bullets. They matched a gun from a recent shooting. She would normally have been excited to go and tell Ryan, but after the autopsy she was embarrassed. She was sick and afterward ran out of the room. Ryan was right, she was acting like a schoolgirl.

Ryan was passing in the hallway when she called his name. "I have the bullets back. Turns out the gun was used in a shooting half a year ago. Huge scene." She tried to sound happy but couldn't do it. He asked her why she was so sad. It was great they matched a case. "It's nothing." She smiled. He didn't say anything. It was like he was waiting for her to tell him, and it worked. "Im sorry i've been acting so kiddish. I just need to get used to it." She said it so fast she was surprised he understood her. "So how did your case go?"

Ryan was walking down the hallway kind of in a zombie state. The conversation with Delko about the dirty cops was playing in his head when he heard his name.
Boa told him about the bullets they recovered from their scene. He scratches his head,” they match a scene from a half a year ago, really. Well that’s good news.” He could see there was something bothering her and before he knew it she was spilling it out to him. “My case was fine and you really need to just calm down. You’re stressing yourself out over this way too much. You did fine, considering everything that happened.” He looked down the hall then back at her,” do you want to get some food later so we can talk about our case?”

"Do you want to get some food later so we can talk about our case?" Did he just ask her out? Nahh it's just for the case, nothing more. Besides, Calleigh walked past right when he was asking her. He totally got distracted and asked her half-heartedly. "Yeah, I'd like that. Im starving. Lemme just get my stuff." She smiled. He told her not to worry about her purse and that he would pay. They were in a hurry. "Ohh, ok thanks."

YEah, I'm here, fully understand everything and shall now post:

As Calleigh walked past Ryan she heard four words: get, food, talk, and case. Interpretating them weren't hard. They were getting some food to eat while talking about the case. She glanced in their direction, but when she caught Ryan's eyes, she turned her head away. She couldn't look at him. She'd been avoiding him, she'd been avoiding everyone lately. She didn't know why, but she just didn't need people around her. She was thinking about a lot. But on the other hand, she did need people around her. Just not people asking difficult questions and trying to get her to spill everything. Inside, she knew Ryan, Eric, Alexx and even Horatio would do exactly that.

[hmmm.... never underestimate the power of a woman who's been spending her entire career with people who are a little beyond talking ;)]

Alexx had just finished up post on Ryan's drug dealer when she ran head on into Calleigh. "Oh Sorry Alexx," Calleigh said as she pushed a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, "I didn't see you there!" "it's all right baby, no damage done." As Alexx helped Calleigh picked up her case file she noticed Calleigh looking back continually at Ryan. "Are you okay baby?" That was the last thing Calleigh needed to hear. "Yeah i'm fine. A little embarassed but fine." "Ok, well if you ever need to talk. I've heard that i'm a very good listener." "Thanks Alexx but really i'm fine" Calleigh said cheerfully. As she watched Alexx walk off Calleigh wondered who exactly the motherly medical examiner had been listening to.

[Dutchie if you love me Calleigh will visit Alexx eventually :)]

Uh...TheCoroner, you might not have understood one part of the RP, you are supposed to play only Alexx, and not Calleigh too. So the sentences you wrote for Calleigh, I should've wrote them. I really don't care, but other people might not like it if you write how their personages react. For example, maybe I wanted Calleigh to get mad at Alexx. (not that I want to, but it's an example) So if you could just keep your posts to the things Alexx does and says? Thanks! And of course I love you, I'll just wait for Sue or sandersidle for now.

As Calleigh past him his heart sank, he was missing her so badly, but yet was glad not to be around her, being tortured listening to her talk about HIM. Ryan looks at Boa as they start walking down the hall," there's a café right down the street, is that ok?" Boa nods letting him know it was fine. In the car there was silence. Ryan’s mind was on what Delko had said to him about the possibility of dirty cops in the department. He got defensive about it and told him it couldn’t be true. He told him his friend was wrong and before he jumped the gun pointing fingers he had better make sure he had all the facts right. But Ryan knew his friend, he knew he wasn’t a trouble maker. But Delko was right about making sure he was 100 % right about anything before going after anyone, especially a fellow law enforcer. He glanced over at Boa who was staring out the window looking a bit frightened.” So do you like chicken? This café has a really good baked chicken dinner platter.”

They were sitting in the car. Once again surrounded by the silence that seamed to haunt them everywhere they went. Natalia has feelings for him, but she has nothing to say to him. He asked her if she liked chicken and she replied, "Yeah, it's great." She went back to staring out the window again. She really didn't like chicken but she wanted to have something in common with him.

They arrived at the cafe, found a place to sit and sat in silence again. "So, you come here often?" He nodded, it barely looked like he even heard her. "Then, I trust the food is great." Smiled while pulling out the case file. "Okay, so what do we do now. The two bullets match a coldcase not too long ago. Should we check out the scene?" She had no clue what she was doing, but then again, thats what Ryan was for.

He was still deep in thought about his other case. He was worried his friend was right and he would have to bring down a bad cop. He hears her voice asking a question,” oh um what? I’m sorry I didn’t get what all you said.” She repeats herself with a look of disgust on her face. He looks down at the menu,” ok do you have a list of suspects from that? If so let’s see if any ring a bell.” She hands him a list and he looks over it. He puts the file down,” let me see the pictures from the crime scene from it.” She hands him the folder saying nothing, since he seems to be off somewhere else. He looks over them carefully then through the other paper work. Their food comes and he doesn’t even look up at the waitress he just mumbles,” thank you.” Then pushes his plate to the side. Finally after 10 minutes of searching and his food is cold he looks up at her shoving a fry in his mouth,” I think we need to go to this crime scene and back to ours. Eat quickly.” He continues jamming fries and chicken into his mouth.

They sat in silence for the whole time. It wasn't akward though, only because Ryan was absorbed into the file. Their food arrived and he didn't touch it. Natalia didn't either, its not like Ryan would have noticed. He spent all that time studying the file only to say they needed to go back to the scene. Thats what Natalia said. "That's what I said." Natalia replied coldly. She didn't care if that was rude, or uncalled for. She ate most of the side salad and tried to cover up the chicken. He was paying for it afterall. Why does going out to eat with him have to be so weird. She sighed as she knew it was better to have Ryan there, then with Calleigh. "You ready to go?" He popped a few more french fries in his mouth and nodded.

As she answered him he could hear the anger in her voice.” What the hell is wrong with her now?” He thinks to himself. As he takes the first bite of a fry it hits him he was starving, since lately he hadn’t kept anything down that went in him, not even water. Now he was starving and had his favorite food in front of him but no time to enjoy eating it. He scarfs it up quickly, shoveling fries and chicken into his mouth at the same time. She finishes first and asks him if he was ready to go. He manages to jam his last few fries into his mouth and with them hanging out her he nods,” yeah I’m ready.” The drive to the first cold case scene was just as quiet as everything with them has been. He pulls the Hummer up to the scene and looks over at her with a cocky grin,” can you try not to make anyone pull any guns on you here?” Her face goes blank and he rolls his eyes,” I’m just kidding, you did good. Just pay attention and follow my lead.” They get out and go over the scene searching for any clue to connect it to their new case. He looks at the pictures of the crime scene and the victim. He wonders around the scene not saying anything to her. He goes over to a storm drain and pulls the top off then pulls out his flashlight. He motions to her,” come here, look what I see.” She bends down to him looking down the hole. He flashes his amazing smile at her,” I think we found our gun. Now I need you to lean down and grab it while I hold on to you.”

When they got to the scene Natalia felt better then she did at the other scene. I think im getting used to it. Well, she thought that until Ryan brought up the guy who held a gun to her face. She didn't know how to react so she just stood there. She follows him around the place. There was no way she going to let him leave her alone. Ryan stops at a storm drain and finds the weapon in it. "I think we found our gun." he says. Good now we can leave. "Now I need you to lean down and grab it while I hold on to you." Natalia should have seen that coming, but she was too busy staring at his sexy smile. She snaps out of it, "Woah what? Are you sure we aren't supposed to get special people to do that?" He tells her shes special, and to go down there to get it. She frowns and feels sick again. Maybe I'm not used to it yet. "It's all dirty down there though, if you drop me...Well, eww!" He gave her a rather annoyed look. Ughh, not that look again!! "Fine!! Ok! I'll go down there, you better not drop me."
