After he finished up in the bathroom Ryan headed out towards the lab to start his case with Calleigh. As he passed the DNA lab he heard his name being called and turned around seeing Natalia coming at him. He thought in his head,” wonderful, I’m sure this is going to make my day even better.”

Ever since he found out she was the mole, the traitor to the lab, he hadn’t been able to look at her the same way. When she first started working at the lab he had a bad feeling about her, but he didn’t know why. But the more he got to know her he liked her. She’s smart, funny, not to mention beautiful. He had started developing feelings for her, they were different then the feelings he had for Calleigh, but at least Natalia seemed interested in him. Every chance she got she would drum up a conversation with him, so he figured it was worth taking a chance on. He asked her out and she accepted happily. The date went well, it was awkward but he had a good time with her. He was planning on asking her out again, but then the truth was brought out about what she was doing and why she was really put into their lab. He was pissed, he felt like she used him to get information against his lab. After that he was done with her. He acted as professional to her as he could, but that was it. So today of all days, the worst day of his life she would have to be coming to him to make it more miserable.

He turns around,” hi Natalia.” She takes one look at him and asks what happen to him while touching his arm. He pulls his arm away from her slowly,” nothing happen, I have a.... an upset stomach, it’s no big deal. Maybe just a stomach virus, but I’m fine.” He had almost slipped out his lie of a hang over, but then he remembered she was the mole and could report him, and he didn’t need anymore pain in his life right now. He looks down the hall,” see you around.” He starts walking away.
 
Natalia hated the way Ryan acted around her. She was interested in him, she really was. But after he found out she was the mole he never has a personal conversation with her. He only talks to her because he needs to. He NEEDS to get the DNA results back, but he doesnt NEED to ask her how her day went. She watched him push her hand off him and walk away. She wanted him, and he was weak. She needed to use that as an advantage.

"Ryan, wait...please." He hesitated but turned around, giving her a look like she better say something good. "I can't stand to see you upset. I know I haven't known you as long as other people but I've known you long enough to know your not upset because of your stomach. If you ever need to talk, I'll be here." She stared into his hurt eyes, saw him give her a very confused look and walked away.

Who am I kidding. He won't give me a chance.. I'm the "mole". Not to metion he loves Calleigh. Damn her. She needs to get out of the picture.
 
As he started to walk away he felt bad for being so rude to her. She was always nice to him and seemed to really care about him. When he was shot in the eye with the nail she called him at home to check on him and to see if he needed anything. It had been a while since it was revealed she was the mole, since then she was doing everything she could to prove she wasn’t out to bring the lab down. In fact the feds had told them that she was basically useless in their case against the lab. But the fact was she got the job knowing she had to get dirt to bring their lab down and in the beginning she looked for it. But today with his emotions running wild on him he was feeling bad for her. He stops and goes back to her,” hey Natalia……um I’m ok really. Thanks for your concern and for offering to talk but there’s nothing to talk about.” He tried to give her the nicest smile he could at this time in his life, which wasn’t very good at all.
 
"Sure." She tried to keep his gaze while...wait she got a smile! He smiled at her. That was enough for one day. But maybe just maybe, they could go out again. He had to get over Calleigh right? I mean, he doesn't love her that much. Although she let herself think that, she couldn't help but think everytime Ryan and Calleigh were together, it always looked like something was between them. Something inside her was telling her not to try and get Ryan. It's mean, he wants Calleigh. But this was too good. For the first time it seemed, Calleigh wasn't single. Theres always tomorrow.

Alexx was just coming off the elevator from the morgue when she noticed Ryan slumping down the hall. She knew he wouldn't want to talk but there was that small chance. "Hey Ryan." she said resting her hand on his shoulder blade. As she caught up with him she noticed the pale face and blood shot eyes, "baby what's wrong?" "nothing, just a hangover." he was lying through his teeth. "baby, i have a doctorit in forensic medicine. See this?" she said gesturing towards the name tag neatly pinned on her dark blue scrubs. "Alexx Woods MD!" Ryan knew he couldn't lie to Alexx. She was like a mother to him! And she was a doctor. He couldn't pull off ANY medical excuses. "it's just personal thing. No big deal." "Ryan is this about Calleigh and that new boyfriend?" his head shot up like a bolt of lightning. He tried to hide it but she already knew. "oh baby," she said rubbing his shoulder, "I know you. And i know that if i offer to talk you'll say your fine. And I know your not. And don't worry i won't tell a soul. Literally. The only people who will hear our little chat are wearing toe tags."
"Ok thanks Alexx." as he watched her head into the break room he considered her offer.

[oh ya and don't worry about her touching his shoulder, it's just a sign of sympathy and comfort that their relationship is in NO WAY anything more that almost a mother-son closeness (i gotta get out of psycology class!)]
 
Ryan looks down at his watch thinking in his head," I don't really have time to get into this with her." He looks around not seeing Calleigh anywhere in sight." well Alexx has always been great at giving me advice, maybe I should talk to her. I know I’m not hiding it from her anyways, she can see right through me.” Ryan heads down to the break room in search of Alexx hoping she can make him feel better.
 
Natalia walked into the break room when she saw Ryan there, sipping on some coffee by himself. "Heyy." She gave him a huge smile and sat down across from him. He looked up weakly smiling at her. But he was brighter then before. You can do this "Do you mind if I join ya? Taking a break is no fun with only one person." She gave him a flirty smile and was happy when he told her he didnt mind. Okay Natalia, just start by asking what movies he's into. There was an akward silence until Natalia broke it. "Do you want to see a movie?" She blurted out. "I mean, I heard War Of the Wolrds is really good!" Dammit Natalia! What the hell! You need to actually have a conversation with him. You know, let him say something!! She cursed herself on the inside.
 
Ryan walks into the break room and looks around,” where in the hell did she go?” He looks at the coffee pot thinking he’s going to need lots of caffeine to get him through this day. He pours himself a cup and takes a seat. He’s deep in his thoughts when he notices someone has walked in and sat across from him.

He looks up just as Natalia asks if he minds if she joins him. He thinks in his head,” I was already nice to you once today, now you’re pushing your luck.” But then he says he doesn’t mind. He looks at her face seeing a strange look, a look of longing to be with someone, the same look he knows he would see in the mirror when he’s around Calleigh. Then out of no where she asks him if he wants to go see a movie. His mouth drops open wide,” a movie.... with you? I mean us together. Are you talking about another date?” She nods her head fast. He feels so bad because at this time in his life going out with someone was out of the question, especially her. He was still really upset with her and even though he liked her, he didn’t trust her now. He looks at her face and sees she’s terrified of his answer. He puts his head down,” I um … I don’t think so. I’m sorry but right now I’ve got some personal stuff going on so right now is not a good time for me.” He looks at his watch,” I have to go, I’m sorry Natalia.” He gets up leaving her sitting with sadness in her eyes.
 
Natalia sat at the table waiting for his answer. No. A big fat lonely NO. He had some "personal stuff." Natalia was confused. At first she wanted to go out with him so there was no chance Calleigh could. She really didn't like that girl. But after she got rejected she noticed how much she really cared. She was nervous and her heart broke in 2 when he said no. He always flirted with Calleigh. Every damn day it seemed. There was no way she was gonna lose him to Calleigh. That was not an option.
 
Eric walked back into the room, barely noticing Natalia sitting at the table. He glanced down at his watch, a few more hours and he could get out of there. He approached Natalia, if she was in the same room he might a well check on his DNA results. He could't help but notice that she looked quite upset as he began to speak. "How's my evidence coming along?"
 
Natalia sat at the table long after Ryan had left. She wanted to be alone. She barely even heard Eric ask about his evidence. "Oh, your here." She gave him a small smile. "Um, I matched the fingerprint from the knife to a coldcase in 1992. The file is in the lab, I just really needed a break." She got up and gestured Eric to come with her to the lab.
 
Eric followed her slowly in silence. Neither of them could muster up enough motivation to make small talk. Natalia sat down at her desk and reached for the case file. Just then Calleigh made her way past them, blatently ignoring Eric. He swallowed hard, obviously she was still mad at him for blowing her off earlier. He had never meant to upset her, but what should she expect? He was all over the emotional spectrum at the moment. Natalia followed his eyesight curiously, tilting her head to see what he was looking at.
 
Natalia led Eric into the lab. She wasn't thinking about Eric though. She probably could have talked to him. But, she was thinking of Ryan. When she sat down she noticed Eric wasnt exactly thinking of her either. She turned her head and saw Calleigh. Great, Calleigh. Thats just what I needed. She took the file and slid it across the table, expecting Eric to pick it up. He didn't, he was still looking at Calleigh. "Eric, the lab results.." She said obviously snapping him out of this train of thought. He took the file and looked at it. Natalia heard footsteps and what would you know. Ryan was passing in the hallway.
 
"Sorry," Eric muttered quietly, taking the file from the table. Natalia didn't appear to be listening, in fact it seemed it was now her turn to stare longingly out of the window. He said his thanks anyway, and left the lab as quietly as he had entered. He returned to the break room and threw the manilla folder down on the table. He didn't really feel like carrying on the case right now, instead his picked up his jacket and headed for the exit. Maybe some fresh air would calm hom down.
 
Still in the hallway waiting on Calleigh, Ryan looks around thinking to himself,” what is taking her so long?” Then a thought pops into his head,” she’s probably on the phone again with him.” Just then he heard his name being said, but his last name so he knew right away who was coming up behind him. He turns around,” hey H, what’s up?” H took off his sunglasses,” Mr. Wolfe I was told that you joined the gang shooting case with Calleigh.” Ryan nods,” yes she asks me for help, is there a problem with that?” H tilts his head to the side just a touch,” no there’s no problem. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve decided to go ahead and let Natalia get some field work in. She put in for it a while ago and I think she’s ready for it. I also think that you and Calleigh could use the extra hands with this case. Since there’s so many suspects the more on the case the better.” Ryan felt a pain shoot through his head. It was bad enough he had to work with Calleigh, but now he was going to have to work with Natalia too, a woman he just turned down, a woman that ……he didn’t know exactly how he felt about. He crosses his arms,” you want Natalia to help us with this case? Are you sure that’s a good idea? This gang is very dangerous and she has no training in basically anything.” H smiles,” that’s why I’m teaming her up with you and Calleigh, I know you will take good care of her and teach her well. She doesn’t know yet and I have something to get on right now, so could you tell her the news and get her started?” Ryan lowers his eyes,” yes sir. I’ll get on that right now.” H walks away and Ryan heads to the DNA lab to tell Boa the news. He taps on the door,” hey Natalia, I have something to tell you.”
