He takes a step back away from her rubbing his face," I'm fine, there's nothing wrong with me." He looks into her eye seeing she's not falling for his act. He raises his brow," ok to tell you the truth I'm not feeling too well. I'm kind of nursing a hang over, but please don't tell anyone." There he hated telling her that, a flat out lie, but it was better than the truth. He knew if he tried to tell her he was coming down with something she would tell him to go home and get in bed. This was the best explanation he could think up.

Valera expected the answer and she just rolled her eyes. Sure, you're fine, the world is fine, and there are penguins singing "Rainbow keeps falling on my head" in the hallway as we speak... She stared at him, I can't believe you think I'd fall for that.

He sensed she didn't believe him so he tried another excuse. He told her it was a hang over. She rolled her eyes again. You're one lousy liar, Wolfe. But she got the hint. She lied to her twice and it was more than enough as a sign that he didn't want to talk about it. So she let him.

"I won't. But I have aspirin in my locker in case you need it?" She smiled. "Anyway I need to get something to Horatio... so, see you around." She started to walk away but then turned around again, "Oh Ryan... if you need someone to talk..." with that she smiled and left.

Ryan hated lying to people, especially friends since he had so little of them. At work he wasn't the most popular guy but he did manage to make a few friends in the last couple of years. He felt terrible but right now he had no other options. He didn't want anyone knowing about his feelings for Calleigh.

She offered him some aspirin like she really believed he had a hang over. “Thanks but I can’t take aspirin it upsets my stomach more. Besides I think I got the problem out of my stomach, I’ll be fine.” He points his finger at her,” now try to be a little more careful where you’re walking.”

She starts to walk away but stops and tells him if he needs someone to talk to she’ll be in DNA. His brain goes crazy, “what the hell did she mean by that? Why would he need someone to talk to and about what? Did she know about his feelings for Calleigh? Was she able to see through him?” Now he needed to puke again.

[Oops, I never had a hangover... what do you do with it? Oh well, forget aspirin... And tell me if I mess up Valera's history or whatever]

Valera looked at him and his pointed finger, "Hey it was you who bumped into me." She shook her head, almost wanted to laugh. This guy really had some serious issues...

He looked so pale, but as much as she was concerned about her friend, she didn't think he would appreciate the attention. She wasn't even sure either if he thought of her as a friend. It wasn't like he got along with a lot of people... For instance Delko.
It reminded her of when she got suspended. It wasn't his fault though but she was upset.

She thought she could at least be friendly. It wasn't like she had tons of friends in the lab either... but each one of them counts.

Looking at Ryan, he could sense something about this man. The way he looked at Calleigh earlier, and things she had noticed before. When they were both in her lab, Valera would even notice his lingering stare at Calleigh... She wasn't the best reader when it comes to people, but with Ryan it was obvious.
When she thought about it, Ryan and Calleigh would make a good couple, if they would just admit it.

Walking down the hallway to the DNA lab, she thought to herself. Was it wrong to offer him to talk? It wasn't like they were good friends or anything. It would be weird for him. And it wasn't like she wanted to know his problems anyway. But he reminded him of someone she knew. And she thought, hey, everyone needs someone to talk to. It doesn't matter. She might as well just offer an honest help.

She shrugged it off as she entered the DNA lab. There were a lot more important things to worry about.

Calleigh walked into the lab, Josh' arm still around her shoulders. "I uh...I gotta go. See you after shift, if that's okay?" She said. "Sure." He replied. "Okay then. Bye." He leaned in and kissed her cheek. Calleigh didn't really know what to think. She wasn't sure if she liked it to do this in public. Then again, the hall was empty. Josh walked out, and Calleigh went in search of anyone else that was in.

She found Ryan in the hallway, walking out of the men's room. He talked to Valera, and she caught a few parts of the conversation. Something about a hangover...She didn't really understand. But when he turned around to her, she noticed that his face was very pale, his eyes were red and...he looked miserable. She walked up to him, a worried look on her face.

"Hey, hey Ryan? Are you okay, you look...with all due respect you look terrible." She sounded really concerned. "Is something wrong, do you wanna talk about it?"

Eric looked over as Calleigh entered the lab with that creeps arm around her shoulders. He was starting to hate him more by the minute. A look of surprise crossed his lips as he watched Josh place a gentle kiss on Calleigh's cheek. She had never allowed any other boyfriend to do that. Who did this guy think he was? He felt his blood begin to boil. Wasn't it bad enough that everything in his personal life was going to hell and now his professional life was too. How could so much change in so little time. He was still reeling from burying his sister, all he wanted to do was get on with his job and go home.

He watched Calleigh walk over the Wolfe and ask if he were okay. He remembered a time when she would have done that for him. They had drifted so far apart since Speed's death, and he really could have used a good friend right about now. Eric grabbed a cup of coffee and a case file and slumped angrily into a chair in the corner of the break room. People should have been asking him if he was okay.

(FYI, Eric never went to Rio ;))

Now his stomach was really churning. He kept his eyes on Valera as she walked away with the words, "if you need someone to talk to" going over and over in his head. His mind was frozen with that thought, so frozen that it took him a few seconds to realize Calleigh was right in front of him.

"Oh great." He thinks in his head," first I have Valera asking me if I need to talk, then I have Calleigh in my face telling me I look terrible asking me if there's something I need to talk about. What is wrong with these women? This day just needs to end."

He focused on her, hearing the concern in her voice for him, she was making him melt inside. But now she wanted to know what was wrong with him, and now he was going to have to lie to her, something he thought he would never do. He put his head down and with a lowered voice he tried to convince her of his lie. “I’m fine I just have a hangover, it’s no big deal.” As soon as those words came out he knew she wasn’t going to buy it. He may have convinced Valera it was a hangover, but he knew Calleigh wasn’t going to believe it. They have been friends for too long, she knew him too well. She knew he didn’t drink. He has never had more than two beers even when they have gone out clubbing together. He took a deep breath to prepare for his next lie because he knew this wasn't over.

She raised an eyebrow. "A hangover? You?" She shook her head. "Fine, if you won't tell me the truth, then don't. But don't lie to me 'cause I can see right through you Wolfe." She smiled. "Anyway, did you close your case? I might need some help, Horatio assigned me to a gang shootout, and well, I can't do it alone. So just wondering if you would want to help me out. That is, if your hangover isn't too bad."

"So just wondering if you would want to help me out"? When the hell did Ryan become her go-to guy? Now he would have to finish this case on his own as well. "Thanks a bunch you guys," he muttered bitterly under his breath. With that he stormed out of the room, bashing carelessly into Ryan on the way out.

He was so glad she was dropping the hangover questioning, he couldn't believe she ending it so easily, but then she asks him to join her case.
Inside he screamed no but when he opened his mouth he shocked himself," sure I'm feeling fine and my case is just about done. We have the evidence now we just need patrol to bring the guy in to us.” He thinks in his head,” did I just agree to take on a case with her? Have I lost it?” She looks at him strangely as he pauses. He wanted so badly to make up an excuse but he drew a blank. He scratches his head,” a gang shooting huh, ok I’m in.”

"Good." She says, looking at him in a strange way. Then Eric stormed by, bumping into Ryan. "Eric! What the..." He just walks on. She looks at Ryan. "What was that all about? I'm going after him, I'll be right back."

She ran after Eric. "Eric? Hey Eric, what's the matter? Come on, wait a second. Did I miss something?"

Eric let out a humorless laugh. "No, I'm fine. Don't worry about me, you just go back to poor ickle Wolfe over there." He turned around to leave.

Ryan stood watching as Calleigh ran after him. He rolls his eyes up thinking," what the hell is his problem? I know we're not best of pals, but gesh." Then his stomach flopped again at the thought of working with Calleigh and he ran back into the bathroom to throw up again.

Eric could hear Calleigh's footsteps behind him, trying to catch up. The second those words had escaped his lips he felt guilty, but he was no longer thinking logically, he was far too angry for that. He felt numb because of everything that was going on and it hurt even more than none of his friends and colleagues understood or cared. He vaguely heard the the sounds of Ryan rushing back into the bathroom in the background.

[ahh im soooo sorry guys!! i was busy all day today!!!]

Natalia was in the lab when she saw Ryan leave the bathroom for like, the 10th time today. Ok, now somethings definatly wrong. It must be about Calleigh and her boyfriend. She rolled her eyes, she didnt understand how he could care so much about her. She waited until Ryan passed and casualy walked outside the lab.

"Hey Ryan, wait up." He turned around and she saw his eyes. "Oh my god, Ryan what happened?" She said while she put her hand on his arm.
