He grabs her arm and pulls her really close. As much as she was mad at him, she was also very tempted to kiss him. He was so sexy when he was mad, but he was scary too.

Finally, he lowered his voice, but it still seamed as though he was shrieking at her. She pulled her arm free and got even closer in his face. "I don't think i'm better. I never said that! Im far from that! I said I needed your help, but you were never there!! And come on, what can you be doing thats so important, you cant tell me." She whispered as she ignored the people who were staring, and now looked as if they were gossiping all around them. "If your keeping me out of trouble, I want to know what your protecting me from." Their faces were milimetres away when Ryan moved back.

Ryan backs up and shakes his head," I can't tell you, not till I'm sure I'm right. I've already said too much too Ca.... I've said to much ok. When I get the proof I need you'll be the first I'll tell. Now I need to go see someone about this. I'll be back in like an hour and we'll go over what we have." He starts to walk away but stops turning back at her," go make your phone call, then go over the evidence again from the alley shooting. I feel like we missed something."

She sighed. "Fine. I'll see you later." She turned on her heal, and made her way to get the file in her office. Then she make her daily routine to the washroom. She opened the door and found Calleigh. She looked just as upset as Ryan. "Hi. You alright?" Why did she even ask? It's not like she cared. Calleigh nodded and Natalia made her way into the stall. She waited until she left, then opened her phone and dialed. "It's Natalia... Yes I have some info." She knew she would have to tell what Ryan told her. "I-I... Well, I heard that.." She didn't know what to say. She didn't want to tell the feds that it was Ryan who was trying to protect her from something. "Well.. I don't really know anthing I guess. I mean, a CSI is working on something that they wont tell me about. It must be important." Damn, why did she say it was important? She put her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes. Who is the CSI? "I don't know." What the hell do you mean you don't know! You ha- She closed her cellphone and began to cry. She couldn't do it anymore, but she would. They wouldn't leave her alone.

Ryan gets out to his car and dials his friend’s number only to get his voice mail again. “Hey Marc this is Ryan Wolfe again. You need to get back at me soon about our situation. I found out something today that could help our case. Call me back soon.”

He slams the cell shut then an idea pops into his head. He heads back into the building and goes down into the department looking for his friend. He goes to the captain and asks if Marc is working. He’s surprised to find out that his friend was a no show for work today. He walks back up to the lab, straight to the computer lab and punches in Marc’s name in hopes to find his address to pay him a visit at home. With his information in his hand he heads back down the hall in search of his friend and only real lead on his case.

Calleigh walked through the hallway when she met Tripp. She smiled and was planning on passing him, but he stopped her.

"Hey Duquesne, nothing to do?"
"Not at the moment, though I think you're gonna change that."
"I have a body in a beach house, might need some help."
"Let me get my kit."

Not much later she was in a hummer with Frank. When they arrived at the scene she found a body of a young man lying on the floor. What was the worst, he was wearing a patrol uniform.

"Damn." Frank exclaimed.
"Do you know him?"
"Yes, his name is Marc Rover. He'd gone MIA this morning. Now we know where he was at..."

Calleigh kneeled next to the body.

"What's sticking out of his pocket?" Frank asked.
"A cell phone. Let me check last messages."

She figeted with the keys then listened to the last message. Her face fell when she recognized the voice.

"Shit, Ryan..."
"What?"
"Nothing. Give me a minute please, I have to make a call."

She walked out and dialed Ryan's number with her own phone.

"Ryan? It's Calleigh. Don't hang up on me now, I'm on a crime scene. It's a police officer. And...you were the last person to call him. His name is Marc Rover, you know him?"

There's your angst, there's your chance to pop in Kate, and there is the last name which I totally made up. Sorry if you had a last name already Sue, in that case I missed it.

Ryan’s driving in his car, just about to Marc’s house when his cell rings. He looks at the caller ID,” Great! What the hell does she want now?”
He flips it open,” Wolfe here.”
Her voice sounded strange and right off she tells him not to hang up on her, which crossed his mind. Then she tells him about his buddy.

He couldn’t believe what she was saying. He was on his way to his house to check on him but he’s too late.
His mind wonders off and so does his car off the road. He drops the cell and pulls on the steering wheel getting control of the car.

He reaches down grabbing the cell, “Are you sure it’s Marc? I was on my way to his house right now. Where is the scene at? I need to see him.” She gives him the address.” I’ll be there in 10 minutes. Don’t leave and don’t let Alexx take the body.”
He slams his cell shut,” now what am I going to do. They must have known he knew about them and they probably know I know.”

Calleigh processed the room when she heard Ryan's car pull over in front of the house. She stood up and gave Alexx instructions, walking out to meet Ryan in the driveway.

"Ryan, I'm so sorry about your friend."

She hoped he'd believe her, because honestly she was sick and tired of yelling at him, and having him ignoring her. But her voice really sounded compassionate.

"It's really him, he has a single gunshotwound to the head, he was dead instantly. He...you know I have to ask, and I'm sorry. But why did you call him?"

Ryan was furious and almost in tears. Marc and him were once very close, they had been friends since they were kids. Now he was gone and it was his fault.

“Do you want to know why I called him? I called him because he’s the person I got the information from about your damn boyfriend. He knew Josh was a bad cop and now he’s dead. Do you think that’s a coincidence? I don’t.”

The anger in his voice was apparent to anyone around. Before she could speak he grabbed her by the arm and took her inside by the body,” look at him good. He’s gone because he knew something he wasn’t suppose to know. He was a good cop. You need to be taken off this case. I’m calling H.”

When he grabbed her arm and pulled her inside, she was certain he was gonna hit her. And it scared her, because she'd never seen him like this. She'd never seen him so mad at her. Not even when she yelled at him for taking blood to court, or when she yelled at him because he was playing the death pool...she then realized she yelled at him a lot.

But then he started saying she had to be taken off the case and something inside her snapped. She lost total control of herself and before she could stop it, words started flowing out of her mouth.

"What? No! No way Ryan, this is my case, you have to be glad I called you at all! You cannot take me off this case, and H will certainly not take me off for some stupid excuse of yours that my boyfriend killed him. I still don't get why you don't like Josh, I guess you really are jealous! You can just keep denying it, but the whole lab knows you're in love with me since you first set foot into this lab."

She took a breath. "I am sorry that your friend is dead, but I don't believe any of your accusations, Josh is not a bad cop! And he certainly can't kill someone. He's a nice guy, and I don't know why I'm standing here defending him to you if I don't even like him myself because he's actually a selfish bastard!"

She stopped talking realizing what she'd said. Did she really mean that? Yes. She didn't like Josh anymore. He'd been different lately, snapping at her, being rude...he hadn't taken her out in a week. But then could Ryan be right? Josh wasn't the type to be a bad cop. Or so she thought.

[whoops...there ya go Sue, you can choose between having Ryan yell at her some more or have him feel bad for her. Personally I'd say number 2.]

You would Nikki, but not me. You know I’m all about the angst hehe.

Ryan stood silently listening to her yell at him, going on about how he’s jealous of Josh and how great Josh is, but then she twist her words confusing him. Was she finally seeing a side of Josh that he’d seen all along? It didn’t matter to him what she was feeling or seeing. The fact was his friend was dead and he was sure who did it.

He looks over at Alexx in shock listening to the two of them.

“You just don’t get it do you, this guy is dangerous and I’m not going after him because I’m jealous. I wish you would get that through your head. My friend was a good cop and he’s gone now. I’m going to have to call his parents and explain to them why he had to die. This isn’t about you Calleigh, it’s about bringing down some bad cops, and now it’s about me getting justice for my friend. I want you off this case and I’m going to H with what I have. I’m sure he’ll back me up.” He had lowered his voice but you could still hear the rage in it.

[damn you :p]

Calleigh looked over at Alexx, and to Tripp, who was now also listening. She looked back at Ryan, her eyes filling with tears.

"You bastard."

She walked out of the house, and out of the driveway, and she just kept on walking away. This time he had realy hurt her and she didn't need to be hurt right now. Right now, she needed comfort. And she needed it from the one person who had hurt her. Life was just not fair.

[who's gonna follow me?]

Ryan stood watching her walk away. He felt terrible for making her cry, but he was hurting too. Between her words and his friend lying dead he couldn’t handle talking to her anymore. He looks over at Tripp and Alexx knowing that one of them was about to speak up and he was sure what they would say wasn’t going to be nice either.

Sorry Nikki...he's not coming.

{geez, are we the only two trying to keep the RP alive? CSI Ali still hasn't replied to my Pm. I give her 2 more days.}

"Dude..." Tripp spoke up. "Did you just make her cry?" His look was furious and Ryan was glad looks couldn't kill. "I've worked with Calleigh for 5 years and no one has ever made her cry. You just did. You screwed up big time mister, and you better make up with her if you ever wanna work a case again."

{Alexx? Natalia? Ryan? Eric? ANYONE? Come save Calleigh from herself!}

Ryan was so tired of being yelled at by everyone. No one knew what he was going through. No one knew what he knew and most of all felt.

"Listen Frank you don't know the whole story, ok. I didn't mean to make her cry, but she was out of line here. So just back off of me and let me figure out who killed my friend before someone else gets hurts." He looks up at Frank, who seemed to be a giant towering over him. He couldn't believe he had just taken such a mean tone with him.

Oh miss roosfox we could really use the help.
