Carmine Giovinazzo

^Yeah, the accents go a long way towards authenticity. Especially with two guys like Danny and Flack, who are supposed to be pretty streetwise. The same was true of Aiden--it definitely helped the audience feel she was a tough NY type.

Yeah, with all the grandmaster stuff and rats storyline in one episode back in s1. They seem to be very comfortable with the setting and they know what to do with it.

^I totally miss the grittier season one vibe. I guess having Aiden around tipped the scale--three people with heavy NY accents, and three without. Mac is from Chicago, Stella I think was raised outside the city a bit, and then Hawkes seems to come from an upper class background maybe? So it makes sense that they don't have the heavy accents, but it was nice having three characters who did. Now they only really have two.

Yeah. Not to mention someone coming from the South -- without an accent. Lol! The Aiden-Flack, Danny-Aiden, Danny-Flack, and Danny-Flack-Aiden banter were the best parts of the first season. Accent overload!

Honestly, coming from the other side of the world -- sometimes I'm having trouble understanding what Danny and Flack says. Hahahahah

Danny didn't annunciate great the first season--sometimes he was hard to understand. I think he laid that accent on a little thick at times. I don't recall specifically ever having a hard time understanding Flack, but I could be forgetting.

And yeah...I loved the Danny/Flack/Aiden (and any combo of those three) interactions. It felt so natural and easy...they just all had (or have in the case of Danny and Flack) great chemistry together.

I second that. I had some difficulties in S1. S2 was a lot better though, either because Carmine's accent was not as thick as before or because I'm now used to his voice and can capture every nuance... ;)

Hahahah.... then Danny goes to have a set of expressions he always uses:

*Traffic is murder (twice in season1)
*Nice...
*How you doin'

Hahahah... I need to get out more lol!

^Heh, that makes me think of Joey on Friends--that was his catch phrase. It's pretty adorable when Danny says it, too.

His accent kills me when he says that. Especially in, I think that was the case where someone stole a kidney in season2 (bad with titles). Lol...

Anyway, I also love how he says "Fantastic".

He's kind of got a deep, throaty voice...I like when he says "boom" too!

That's exactly where my avatar is from. :D I even made an audio file of that, too funny!

(Not to mention the -other- audio file I made with him saying "Stella", which is my name. I uploaded it to my cell phone so now every time I get a text message I hear him calling my name! *lol*)

^Nice! Hhahahah....

Yeah, he's fond of saying "boom" too -- him and Flack.

I just watched RSRD here in the Philippines and I must say, he plays emo character, drama and all that -- better than bad cop. Even my mom commented on how well he performed on the crying scene.

Hell, how could you not love his performance in RSRD? I think I've watched that episode like thirty times since it aired...

Yeah, Carmine is perfect at the emoting. I think he does the bad cop part well, too, but he really impressed me in "Super Men" when Danny has sympathy for the killer who lost his daughter. There's something so childlike about Danny in moments when he breaks down emotionally, too--a real sweetness to him.
