"Built To Kill Part 2" Discussion **SPOILERS**

The first thing I thought of when I saw the doll's eye at the back of the picture was Melander, but Melander is dead, but is wife isn't.

Still, I think that a little more info is needed about that.

I think they sent that to Sam as a way of either having him think they did something to her or that they COULD do something to her, that she was an easy target.

I liked the ep as well.

I'm glad Cath wasn't raped; she didn't need it on top of everything else happening to her. I was hoping for a little CatNip but it was nice seeing Warrick help her.

I wanted to cry during the rescue scene...*sniff*

loved the jam sequence...have ever since I watched it on YouTube. My mom was laughing as well. And then Gris goes "sorry Izzy" lol.

How do we take Eckie's comment? I suppose he could have cluse about the dating but I tend to think he just meant Gris's team always sticks together; I doubt they'd be working there anymore if he knew they were dating.

I agree about Warrick...I know they were anxious to rescue Lindsay but was still thinking "where're the gloves?"

K-- new person posting... although the thing with sam was mentioned, and the guys gay lover being the man that killed him -- no one mentioned why. my thoery is that sam was responsible for something (either the pressure from the new casino) or sam wanted to get something or was using the guy. Remember -- they were there bc of sams new casino -- so sam has to be part of :)
they did mention it but it was quick. Sam basically screwed them over in money..

I personally think that they should have got a girl that actaully looked like the real lindsay. Doc Robbins isnt a terrible singer actually. I thought this episode was better then the first half :)

I've rewatched my tape and now have two questions or observations, which really aren't relevant to the plot; it's just a couple of odd things I noticed:

(1) Catherine in Wendy's lab doing the testing on the tampon. Since when does a CSI know how to do a lab tech's job? Do all CSIs know how to do those very technical lab experiments or is Catherine just exceptionally bright? Kind of renders lab techs and all of their extensive training/schooling unnecessary, doesn't it?

(2) When Catherine picked Lindsey up after the dance recital, Lindsey got into the back seat. I find that very odd. If I'm picking up someone, I'm sure that 99+% of the time that person is going to get into the front seat. I guess it looked more dramatic to see Lindsey get pulled out of the back seat. It just looked strange.

Otherwise, a great episode. I'm as intrigued as Grissom by the miniature murder scene, and am anxious to see how this plays out. Grissom will eventually solve this mystery, as he always does, in first-class fashion.

I'm sorry, but Nick's hair, or lack of, is very distracting. I'm confounded by George Eads' decision to do such a radical thing to his hair. But then maybe that's the point. It generates controversy.

I suppose I'm biased, but I was completely satisfied with every scene Greg was in. The camera just loves him, and I loved how expertly he gathered all of the evidence; his facial expressions were priceless. The souvenir decapitated bird heads were weird, even by Greggo standards.

All in all, a really wonderful episode.

As for the picking Lindsey up, some states have laws about how old a child has to be to sit in the front seat. I know it's 12 years of age in my state, but I have no idea what it is in Nevada. Some parents think it's safer for their kids and don't let them sit shotgun. Depends on the parent if not the law.

I believe according to her bio, Catherine started out as a lab tech. I believe they all have to work their way up the ranks that way.

There are lots of young kids and teenagers I know that prefer riding in the back seat. They get their own space, and sometimes it's not considered "cool" to ride up front with their parents.

I was not aware that children of a certain age were required to sit in the back seat according to various states laws. I'm not a parent so that law slipped under my radar. I thought that once the child reached 4 or 5 years of age, they no longer had to be relegated to the backseat. Goes to show how uninformed I am.

Still, isn't Lindsey supposed to be about 14 or 15 now?

i liked the episode, as i like all csi episodes, but i feel they rushed this episode, possibly chopped 2 episodes into 1.

This episode made me cry when Cath was reunited with Lindsey. Just a touching and very powerful moment that showed just how great the writers' text and actor's talents flowed together.

I knew Sam Braun had something to do with it! And when he slapped Cath? My sis told me that if looks could kill through the TV, he would've dropped dead from the look I was giving him xD

I liked it, it wasn't as 'over-the-top' as I thought it was going to be, and I'm releved that Cath wasn't raped either, when the test she did in the lab said Negative, I knew
and yes why was Cath in the lab?
I'm also glad she told Grissom and called Sara, I'm glad they are not playing these two women off each other
The GSR was suble to non-exisitant, which pleased me :D
and grateful Warrick was there to talk her out of touching all the evidence
not a problem with the back seat, being a teenager she probably doesn't want to be seen in the front seat with her mother
This one was WAAAYYY better than the first part
there was some depth to the storylines and cases
and the mini scene.. Just up Grissom's alley ;)

about the back seats each state has their own laws
my kids are 5 and have to be in the back seat unitl they are 12! next year it's manatory that they stay in a booster seat until they are 8,
but... back on topic :D I think she wanted to sit back there as not to be seen riding in the front seat 'with my mom'

Catherine said she was 14 during "Way To Go" when she and dr were discussing their kids.

Laws on where a kid sits in the car is a new one to me. The only laws I have ever heard of are involving car seats for infants and toddlers, not teenagers. If that truly was the case (I have to seriously wonder if that wasn't made up for dramatic effect), the jails and courthouses would be teeming with parents in that situation, and they're not. Otherwise you would have heard countless people complaining about it on the news and in the paper already and they haven't.

I think they're really dragging out this "miniature" case way too far. It seemed that with much of the case being up tempo, every time they came back to the "miniature" case, the episode began to drag. I wish they'd wrap it up quickly to begin the next episode and get on to something else.

Hard telling, the way they keep messing with her age. She was said to be six in the early eps, right? Which should make her like 13 now or close to it.

I just have one question:

Why was the actress who played Lindsay Willows different than the actress whose been playing her for the last six seasons? Not talented enough? Didn't age enough? Wasn't available? Or was that her and she just looks REALLY different?

It was an awesome episode overall, I look forward to seeing it concluded.

PS: Hi, I'm new.
