Yeah I saw that and thought OUCH (okay I saw it on MLB.com) but still ouch. We lost to the Yankee's 6-3. Seems like we both got teams who chomp at the bit. Good luck to you all, as I am sure your thinking the same, in the end like the teams when they are done we will go on and pick on the other teams we play against. :guffaw:

Oh I see this article and I think those who are not Spanky fans will love it.

Dellucci unhappy with Joba's antics during Yankees' victory over Indians .. <SNIP>
"Dellucci was not amused by Chamberlain's antics.
"That's what gets him going and that's what everybody likes to see, but if a hitter was to do something like that they'd probably say it was 'bush (league)' and you shouldn't do it," Dellucci said. "It's kind of funny how a pitcher can get away with it." AND "Dellucci, a 13-year veteran who played with the Yankees in 2003, has a more old-school approach.
"If he wants to yell and scream after a strikeout and dance around, I guess that gets him going," Dellucci said. "My home run was in a much bigger situation, more a key part of the game and I didn't dance around and scream." :guffaw: I think this is so true and funny what he has said.

They even show a picture of it, those who like the spanky's no offense its just funny but true in a way if a hitter does something like that then they are called out on it, but what Joba did was a bit OVER the top. :D

Ah, JubJubs will be all grown and sensible one day...alas, that day is not now... :guffaw:

I actually found it pretty funny in a way, but I can see why people think it's OTT...

Well round one goes to Destiny  The Jays certainly had the hits last night but the problem lately has been getting the guys on base home. Note to Blue Jays you must get hit the ball to where there are no fielders in order to get the guys on base home  and then you may win a game or two.

The Jays also had their two new players in the field last night. They signed Brad Wilkerson yesterday and traded for Kevin Mench. Hopefully both will help the Jays.

Hey don't feel bad Ben Francisco (the one who pitch hit for Dellucci) was brought up for a cup of coffee, sent back down, and once they DFA'd Michaels, they brought him up again, he came up in time for the NY game. He has been up and down from AAA I don't know how many times. I was proud to see Hafner get some hits, he was throughly frustrated, hopefully this means that he is coming out of his slump.

Your CF was really hurt a sprained wrist and tight Hammy I think is what they said, now some are saying he jammed his wrist and Tweaked the Hammy. I do hope that he is alright. One thing I could never get into is being happy when another player (our team or another) gets injured, thats just bad sportsmenship. We see grady diving, hitting the wall and all that Ozzie from the CWS referres to him as "superman" lol but its scarey even though he gets right up like "Hmm No problem".

But remember that the tribe is consistant... at being inconsistant. :guffaw:

I did not like the lineup they had for our team, usually you have people who just fit into a slot and do well there, with wedge juggling to find which spot and for who, apparently failed to notice that 9 times out of ten if you have the first three being Grady, Franky, and David, it rarely works. But If you have David in the two hole he works well there or in the 7 hole (I believe). But that three hole he does okay but not the best work.

A bit more on the Dellucci about Joba comments, when asked again.
"Two New York reporters approached David Dellucci after the Indians' 6-3 loss to the Yankees on Thursday. They wanted to know what Dellucci thought of reliever Joba Chamberlain's mini-celebration after Chamberlain struck out Dellucci to end an inning.
Two days earlier, Dellucci hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer off Chamberlain in a Tribe victory -- the first earned runs off Chamberlain in the Bronx.
"My answer was, the home run that I hit was in a much larger situation in the game," Dellucci said. "And I jogged around the bases, then went into the dugout. No show, no big deal.
"Apparently, this isn't the first time people have commented on his reaction on the mound. That's probably why they came to me."
Dellucci said he was unaware of Chamberlain's antics until he heard teammates barking from the dugout. He went into the clubhouse and watched the replay.
"This team stands by a code that we respect the game and respect each other," Dellucci said. "We don't show up anybody on the other side of the field. We all play the game by the rules."

Okay, good Luck tonight

Dustin McGowan, RHP (2-2, 2.95 ERA)
Aaron Laffey, LHP (0-2, 2.84 ERA) <-- (He is the fill in for Jake Westbrook)

Yeah I seen that last night on STO and they did it in slow motion several times and no matter how many it looked painful. I thought he would be put on the DL, I mean I know things can look a worse then what they are, but that just looked nasty.

Well it looks like the Jays are letting Cleveland have all the fun this weekend. The Jays last night stunk
14.gif
Giving up 6 runs in the first inning on the way to a 12-0 lose :censored: Congrats though do go out to Grady Sizemore for hitting 2 homers and collecting 5rbis. Oh well lets see if the Jays can get on the winning board this afternoon

Well it won't be this afternoon, just announced on STO that due to the rain the game today has been canceled and tomorrow will be a Double Header. Starting at 4pm. According to STO (Sports Time Ohio) the pitching Rotation will not change.

Game One: A.J. Bernett (3-3, 5.19) and Fausto Carmona (3-1, 2.95)
Game Two: Shawn Marcum (4-2, 2.59) and Cliff Lee (6-0, 0.81)

The only thing that really disappoints me is the "Going Pink" for both Breast cancer and Mothers day. MLB to go pink on Sunday Apparently they will (or would) have had pink bats (that they would have autographed), Wristbands, Special necklaces, ribbons will be displayed on player uniforms, as well as those of all on-field personnel. Also including pink ribbon logos on the bases and commemorative home plates, and pink dugout lineup cards.

I hope even if its for game one, that they get this in, its for a good cause.

Good game that last one it was tough going into the 10th. perfect innings from the starters. Congrats on the win. :D

Thanks Destiny. It was a hard series but I'm sure the Jays won't say no to the win :) I did see that Cleveland's Asdrubal Cabrera had an unassisted triple play in the 5th. That's only the 14th time in major league history that that has occurred. It doesn't help when you lose but that is impressive. Congrats to Cabrera and the Jays :)

Yep that play was great, though if I have to watch it one more time I might scream, heck when they had the round the horn triple play last year they didn't show it that much. Course the Skipper (Wedge) wasn't to happy with the tribe, needless to say he was ticked off. I don't think it was so much about the losing its the fact that one minute your batting and the next minute your standing there like Statues. Mean while Hafner who is considered in a bad slump hits a double.

So now were back to cheering for each others teams again lol.

Jays VS Twins
Tribe VS Athletics

Aww Crap. Good Luck to all of us.

Well I never had the opportunity in the end to watch either of the games, but I did see the triple play highlight. Nicely done, especially it being unassisted at that. Kudos to anyone that can pull something spectacular off like that.

I sure hope that the injury bug doesn't strike the Jays for much longer. They can't afford to lose anyone else. If so, I might just have to dust off the old leather glove that I've got tucked away and go play...!

Well congrats to the Indians for being the better team this time round :p

I warned y'all that we are consistant at being inconsistant. :D

I was worried about our Temp Closer Raffie Right (aka Raffie Betancourt) because of the fact that when that ball hit his elbow I was like  because I knew he had surgerie on his pitching arm a while back and had a metal plate and I think six screws put in, at first I thought that was the arm that was hit, then they said it was the catching arm and I thought well okay, but wait thats the elbow people no no no, cause he is a great setup man.

If your wondering why we call him Raffie Right, thats because Raffie Left usually came on before he did. Raffie Right is Betancourt and Raffie Left is Raffie Perez. Should have seen it when Aaron Laffey was in the bullpen we would always say time for Laffey, Raffie and Raffie. We termed it from the "Newhart" show "Darryl and my other brother Darryl". :guffaw:

I know the play was great but you can tell that Cabrera is a youngster (age 23 and been up here since the last 45 games of last season) cause Jhonny Peralta quietly showed him via pointing after he caught it to touch second, then the runner, and he followed the pointing. Then and I can't believe he did this, he THREW THE BALL into the crowd as he ran off the field. :wtf:

I loved Wedges response to the play and he said that Rivera (first base coach) was jumping up and down shouting Triple play, Triple Play, and Wedge said all he was thinking is "I hope he at least knocks it down"

Tribe Player Update: Today Jake Westbrook threw 100 pitches off the mound as a part of his rehab, they figure he should be back sometime around the end of May. and Joe should be back sometime in June (I believe). I will miss Laffey and sowers (they alternate from the minors) but I like Jake when he is healthy. In 4 games Jake as 1 W - 2 L and an ERA of 2.73

Well the Jays have made it two in a row  with a 5-3 win over the Twins. Matt Stairs had a homer to help the cause and BJ Ryan got his 6th save of the season. This may not sound like much but the way the Jays have been playing.......and also the fact that he's only had Tommy John surgery a year ago, this is impressive :)

Jays Won And the Tribe won, So I only have one thing to say.
WaveMulti1.gif
Congrats.

ETA:
Game One: Tribe 4 - Oakland 0
Game Two: Tribe 2 - Oakland 0
