^ The All-Star Game and voting has always been a point of contention, since it's pretty much a cert that most, if not all, the players for the AL come from either the Yankees or the Red Sox - which I despise. While I did vote for Yankees players, I also voted for good players from other teams in the AL roster, and refrained from the bitchy behaviour where AL devotees vote for the worst of the NL players. It stands a chance I probably built a better team for the NL than the AL...

I'm actually really sick of the findings of the Mitchell Report being commented on, mostly because it is usually directed at the misdeeds of members of the opposing team. Yes, it was important to weed this out of the game, but moving on from it when it is mentioned all the time... :scream:

Re: Wedge. Arguing your point and doing so passionately is good. Actually, I have a lot of respect for that. He just came across as a bit of a prat when he's already had one bad call in his favour. Fine, make a point, but not to the point where you get put out. As it happens, I agree with you - really bad call. Totally obvious that Victor was in by a country mile. Not that ultimately it made much difference since the Indians still won. It's April - Yankees suck in April.

Game 1: Tribe 2, Seattle 7
Game 2: Tribe 8, Seattle 3

I know what you mean, I know Victor and Grady went to the all Star last year and victor hit a homer which was so cool to watch.

As to the mitchell report I agree they brought it out, the aired it, they moved on, and I too agree that while it is important and hopefully will continue to get not only other players who might have thought about it to think twice or who were not caught if you will to think twice then more is power, also if it helps the youth to see that hey even the big leagues can't get away with it, or do research and see what it will do to you, okay thats good. But to accuse people that have never been even remotely hooked to the drugs or report then thats just wrong.

 well we face the Yanks for one last series in may 6-8, just before the jays series.

I would so loved to have gotten to the All-Star Game this year. I've never actually been to Yankee Stadium and it is looking like I won't before they move into the new one. I'm kinda pissed about that. Such is life.

To be honest, I think for the immediate future the only thing that the Mitchell Report has brought to the MLB is a cloud of distrust where players who admitted their sins are continually derided and others are accused of wrong-doing for no reason. I get that people are angry - damn it, I'm angry that the game has been brought into disrepute too. But yeah, use it and move forward. In the long term hopefully it will become the thing that educated the next generation about the dangers...

I won't wish the Indians luck - against the Yankees, they won't need it. My blind grandmother could probably maintain a higher batting average than some of the Yanks at the moment...

Right at the moment let's not even discuss the Blue Jays :scream: :scream: :censored: I think that can give you an idea about how things are going. Know I now we've only gone through the first month but come on guys. You are in the bottom of the American League East and are not far off from being the worst in the whole league. Texas has that pleasure at the moment. JP Riccardi says that John Gibbons job is save but something has to shake the players up. Boston goes for the sweep today :scream:

Maybe this will help, tigers and the twins stunk when we came into play them, and look at them now lol. We are so happy to help others to get underway. :D Besides y'all can't be that bad, see I am checking the standings now, and umm, well, ouch oh yeah 5.5 back thats not good.

I am not sure who from us you all will be going against. With Westbrook down right now the starters rotation is funky to say the least. Normally its CC, Fausto, Jake, Paul, Cliff. But Aaron Laffey has come in for Jake and because of the double header that night with KC were a bit screwed up. CC, Laffey, Fausto, Cliff, Paul. - SO unless there are changes due to the day off between KC and New York games, your team will be seeing Laffey, Fausto, Cliff and Paul.

But again we have been known to suddenly get a team going, the downside is its by us losing reallllly badly. I mean come on now, you all are 11-17 in standings, the tribe is 13-15.. Okay not helping right now am I. :(

ETA: Update
Game 1: Tribe 2, Seattle 7
Game 2: Tribe 8, Seattle 3
Game 3: Tribe 3, Seattle 2 (11 innings)

Tomorrow, err Today anyway we welcome KC Royals for 3 games then a day off, before heading to NY.

I love it, put our power hitter DH in the three hole and he is guessing at pitches 99% wrong guess. BUT put him in the six hole and suddenly HELLO! He hits to the warning track, doubles twice in one night.

Well do I dare jinx things or what but the Jays have won three in a row :) They beat the White Sox 5-2 this afternoon :) Hopefully May will be a kinder and better month than April was.

See I told ya. - The indians on the other hand are consistant at being inconsistant lol.

Game 1: Rained Out Postponed for a future date
Game 2: Tribe 2, KC 4

Well the Jays moved out of the American League East last night with a 6-2 win over the pesky Tampa Bay Devil Rays :) The Jays finish off this 7 game homestand tonight and then we head to Cleveland for 4. Oh this should be fun :D

Now in other baseball news Cleveland beat the Yankees last night 3-0 and have a afternoon game to finish off their road trip before heading home to face the Jays.

Cincinnati Reds player and Canadian Joey Votto hit 3 homers yesterday. From what I been able to read it's the first time ever that Votto has hit 3 homers in a game. Way to go :) Oh yea Votto is from Toronto :)

Boston Red Sox pitchers Mike Timlin, a former Blue Jay and the only player from the 1992 World Series team still playing, and Tim Wakefield made modern day history on Tuesday night. They became the first 2 pitchers over 40 to combine on a shutout :) This is the first time this has happened since 1900. There can be a lot to say about life beginning at 40  The Red Sox beat Detroit 5-0.

Just watching and waiting for the Indians to take the sweep...
Yep and that won't happen.

Game 1: Tribe 5, NY 3
Game 2: Tribe 3, NY 0
Game 3: Tribe 3, NY 6

Again consistant at being inconsistant is the Tribe. Also TB is no longer called Tampa Bay Devil Rays, they removed the Devil from there name, so now there only known as Tampa Bay Rays (for anyone who didn't know). ;)

Hafner is having problems and I swear that Wedge (the manager) just wanted to stress that problem last night when he had him pitch hit even though we had the lead, I don't know what it is with 'Pronk' but he is in one heck of a slump. - Victor has been out the last two games with a stiff sore neck.

The new guy Ben Francisco that they brought up from the minors who while not giving us a miracle, but helping the team out, seems to have forgotten how to steal, how to catch and how to hit (well alot of them have forgotten that). But then its early and while the games count, Some of them are coming out of the slumps, a little at a time, which in a way is good I guess, as they say the faster you come out of it, the faster you are likely to go right back into it, the slower you come out the more likely it is that you will even off and stay steady.

ETA: I think I have the Pitchers for the Jays it was announced on STO's All Bets Are Off. In this Order and their ERA's and W-L record. Sabathia (ERA 7.51) 1-5 , Laffey (ERA 2.84) 0-2, Carmona ERA (2.95) 3-1, Lee (ERA 0.81) 6-0

Poor Johnny Mac (John Macdonald)! I thought the jays were going to lose him after the other nights injury, but glad to hear, well to this point anyway, that he wasn't added to the DL.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching them rally for several runs in last nights ball game. It's what the Jays have been lacking so far this season. Marcum pitched an amazing game. A one hitter into the 9th.

Lets close out this series with the devil rays tonight on a high note, and bring on the Indians. :p This will be an interesting series for sure!

well to this point anyway, that he [John Macdonald] wasn't added to the DL.
Then umm heads up.. Blue Jays place Eckstein and McDonald on DL - "The Blue Jays placed shortstops David Eckstein and John McDonald on the 15-day disabled list Thursday"

They are saying that JoBo the closer is doing a bit better 25 pitches and he said "I could see my arm speed, compared with the way it was before, was decidedly better."

 This should make Raffie Right feel better, he was made 'closer' by committee, and the last two games he did get the saves, he seems to be settleing in, the only thing is I think he would welcome JoBo back quickly hand him the ball and say I am the set up man, don't get hurt again.
If you haven't seen Raffie Right (Betancourt) and if it comes to it, you might want to prepare to sit back when they say he is slow to pitch, they aren't wrong. This guy has had alot of the best players perplexed because they can't pick up that que to steal because he is slow. Now I can't wait for Jobo either he was good for my stress test, but also hopefully the Bullpen gets back to the regular guys, Long guy (Jensen Lewis), Pre-setup (Raffie Perez aka Raffie Left), Set Up (Raffie Betancourt aka Raffie Right), then your closer. I think once that happens even sticking Masa K, Breslow, or Julio (who I wish they would forget is there) occassionally won't be that bad.

Another note: Jason Michaels who was DFA was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later. He will be their LF player. I feel bad for that team. :guffaw:

Okay I just noticed something in the standings,
Jays.... 17-18 (W-L) .486 (PCT) 4.5 (GB)
Tribe... 16-18 (W-L) .471 (PCT) 1.5 (GB)

This should be interesting I agree, and four games, I hate four games, just like I hate the two games, three is just right. You can't split, I am not saying that splitting is bad, its just sometimes annoying. :)

LOL...ok, my bad! Thanks for the heads up Destiny. I was only going on what they were saying in last nights game...I never caught the sports news today nor the latest in the Jays news.

So judging by the w-l records thus far, the upcoming series between the two teams should be fairly even. I guess its up to the pitching and who can dominate in the defensive/offensive department.

Yep and that won't happen.

Game 1: Tribe 5, NY 3
Game 2: Tribe 3, NY 0
Game 3: Tribe 3, NY 6

Again consistant at being inconsistant is the Tribe.

Shame it didn't, because they deserved it with how the Yankees were playing. In Game 2, it was like they'd just given up - sloppy ABs which just deserved not to score anything.

At least Jason Giambi rediscovered that tiny thing called hitting in Game 3...he might get his average above the Mendoza Line before the season is out at this rate...

Well the Jays lost 8-3 in 13 lasting :scream: but look out Cleveland here we come

The pitching match up is scheduled to be

Roy Halladay and C.C. Sabathia on Friday
Dustin McGowan and Aaron Laffey on Saturday
A.J. Bernett and Fausto Carmona on Sunday
Shawn Marcum and Cliff Lee on Monday

Look out Destiny here we come :guffaw:
