Re: Canadian Thread #4

Ugh, I'm going back on the 8th. I'm *so* not looking forward to it :(.

Anyhoo, guess who's letter was published in the local newspaper. Yep, that would be moi :D. Not only was it in the paper but it was on the site as well. Basically the entertainment section asked what was the best film of 2006 & here was my response:

Casino Royale was by far the best film of 2006. It had everything a typical 007 film had, only better. The plot was fantastic, the locations were spectacular and the characters, especially Bond & Vesper Lynd, were amazing. This may actually be the best film in the history of the 007 franchise with Daniel Craig portraying Bond in a refreshing new light. He really showed us complete insight into the legendary British spy and why exactly he acts like he does. Eva Green played the best Bond girl ever. Bravo to Martin Campbell for providing the world with the best film of the year!

This is the fifth or sixth time my work has been published. Everytime has been in the local paper except for the famous fashion bible In Style & that was two years ago.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

OMAGOSH, YOU'RE FAMOUS!

That's really cool, and since you're talking about how much you loved one of my fave movies, it's even better :D

Re: Canadian Thread #4

Damn Jorja i am so jelous, two reasons. I have been waiting for ever to see the new Bond movie and you get to be in the paper :( 2007 will be different. Last year i never got to see all the movies i was dying to see except for Borat.

This year i am going to go see, Spiderman (OMG cant wait the geek side/the side that was being rased with 4 brothers wants to screem), Ghost Rider (Same as my Spiderman response) and well i cant think of any more.

Palm me and my sister has been reunited with a Gob's (From AD lol) side of us, we do his chicken dance, well she does Gobs while i do Linseys. *Chochu Chochi Chochi Chochi* *Kicks from left to right and wiggles my hand on my head*

Re: Canadian Thread #4

congrats Jorja :D
lol the last time i was in my local paper was for being in a concert back in highschool.

bout the movies...i had a list of flicks i wanted to see over the holidays...i only saw one of them. i missed out on "we are marshall", "blood diamond", and "pursuit of happyness" (ironically enough the 3 i really wanted to see). oh well i can always rent them later.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

i tried to support canada last night, i rented bon cop bad cop. ive wanted to see it for so long and finally got around to it. but...it turned everything french! no matter what i picked i couldnt make the subtitles english. had a nice fight with my dad, strangled him a la homer simpson with bart. he kept saying 'theyre speaking english, the subtitles will change when they speak french' i couldnt make him understand they didnt. even my dvd player menus turned to french! its trying to take over i tell you

Re: Canadian Thread #4

^^^ XDDDD Kicky, your my hero. I'm so like his Dad with the Chicken Dance. Mwahahaha! But yeah. Apparently it now plays on CBC. So there's no excuse why I can't force people to watch it again.

Gah. Jelous of Jorja.... But I agree with your response. Casino Royale = HOORAY!

Re: Canadian Thread #4

I should write Ron Howard a dear John

Michael: "You know arrested development"
Narrator: "Hey thats the name of the show"

 Will Arnette is so awesome, he needs to be on Conan again and soon!

*Girl walks across water without knowing it*
Michael: "Gob was that one of your tricks"
Gob: "No, no it wasn't one of my tricks"
Narrator: "On the nexy Arrested Development"
Gob: "It was one of my illusions"

Re: Canadian Thread #4

:D I loved G.O.B. I mean, out of all of them, he was seriously my favourite. Only reason why I wanted to see 'Let's go to Prison' was because Will was in it. And I started screaming when I saw him in The Soprano's. Everyone in a 3 mile radius heard. Gah!

Oh, Okay, I know Silver City is great and all but I have just discovered a theatre with the BEST BEST seats. There's this one on St. Albert and when you lean back in the seats, IT LEANS TOO! And it was all puffy and squishy so the seats were nice. Silver City may be nice, but they should introduced the leaning chairs!
[Demands it]

Re: Canadian Thread #4

^

Dude, my theatres have had leaning chairs for about 6 years. I thought every theatre did that

Re: Canadian Thread #4

Nope, mine doesn't  Then again... my city doesn't have a lot of things

Re: Canadian Thread #4

lol the one in south edmonton common has the leaning seats too. the bigger, newer theatres have the leaning seats but the older or smaller theatres just have the old ones. heck the theatre where i used to live just got cup holders when they did reno's 2 years ago

Re: Canadian Thread #4

[Reaches hand out to Dragonfly] ;___;

The only theatres I used to go to was the Magic Lantern Theatre in Spruce Grove which gave you back spasms. And when you put your feet up, a person would come and yell at you. And Silver City, where they are nice seats and you can put your feet up, but they don't lean. And after a while, your back screams bloody murder. But they have cup holders!

The one in St Albert didn't have cup holders but JOY I loved those leaning seats.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

 Grandin Theatres are...Dirty, understaffed, and they have crappy movies. But the seats are a nice perk.

Thank God they're tearing all of that down this year.

I love the Cineplex on 137th ave. My favorite theatre. EVER. Although everytime I look at the ceiling, there's an unexplained pile of popcorn there. One wonders how it got there.
