A new man has been named to the prestigious list of Hollywood’s A-List actors. Among those raking in those bulky paychecks there are such internationally know individuals as Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas, and Clint Eastwood. Ford making a whopping 180 million for his latest blockbuster ‘Firewall’.
The Hollywood A-List, not necessarily a material list, being probably the shortest list there is. Thus, it is understandable when a big deal is made when someone new is added into the fold of those that ‘make out like bandits’ for just keeping the general public entertained.
Yesterday, thirty-three-year-old actor Adrien Brody signed a six-year contract with Universal citing that he will make 12 films in that allotted time. The actor, who became the youngest person ever to win an Oscar for best actor for the 2002 film ‘The Pianist’, will reportedly make between 120 to 140 million per movie. Just add that up!
The New York born actor, recognized internationally by his prominent nose, has recently wrapped filming on the movie ‘Hollywoodland’ and is now filming a bullfighting movie in Spain about the most important bullfighter ‘Manolete’. Both movies have generated huge Oscar buzz in Hollywood. Many film critiques are predicting that he may make history again, being nominated for best actor for two movies. Having seen a screening of the film myself, I must say I wouldn’t be surprised.
After he is finished filming ‘Manolete’ he will be working with Tom Hanks in ‘Sliced’, doing an unnamed Speilberg project, playing alongside Michael Douglas in a thriller directed by the writer of the psycho-thriller ‘Stay’, and has already been asked by J.J Abrams to be in the 2008 ‘Star-Trek’ movie. Brody has not yet accepted the role.
