As Mac arrived at the Hospital, he noticed it was a female nurse at the desk. "Can this get any worse"? Mac said to himself. "Excuse me, I need to see a doctor". "Now"! "If you'll just have a seat Sir, I'll be right with you, to take your information". Mac was in so much pain, he blurted out..... "Listen"! "My wife bought some kinky lotion and put it on my personal area, and I had an allergic reaction to it. "Now it's burning, and I need it looked at, STAT!!!! "Calm down Sir", I'll find a doctor". When the nurse came back with the doctor, Mac realized it was a friend of Hawkes. "Oh this is wonderful, I can here the jokes at work tomorrow", said Mac to himself. "Mac Taylor", "Detective", "Is that you"? "Yeah"!! "It's me Henry". "I'll take it from here Kate", said Henry. "Come with me Mac". "So how is Hawkes these days"? "He's fine". As they entered the room, Henry told Mac, to drop his Hanes. "Ouch"!!!!!! said the doctor, "She bought that Love Gel, didn't she"? "How'd you know"? "I've had three men with the same problem". Just as he closed his eyes, he could feel the bed shake. "Not a damn word Stella". Meanwhile.... Flack and Caroline had to return from their Honeymoon before it even started. She was so sick, she didn't want to chance it on the plane. Getting her into bed, Flack called Mac and Stella to let them know they were back home. Meanwhile.... Danny and Lindsay had been up for the last two hours, with DJ, who was throwing up perfusely. "What is wrong with him Linds"? "He has the flu Danny, I already called the doctor, he said to give him lots of liquids". "This is crazy, there has to be more we can do". "Danny there isn't , now go to bed, I'll stay with dJ". It must have been about three in the morning when Mac recieved the call that the Backyard killer,(aka, Central Park killer) had been caught. Two officers heard the screams of the girl, as she walking home from the University. Breathing a sigh of relief, Mac hoped he could finally have some peace and quiet for a few days. Meanwhile..... DJ's fever had finally broke, he was now sleeping peacefully. "Thank God Linds"! "I didn't know how much more I could take". "It's okay Danny, you did great". "You are an amazing father and husband". It was one in the morning when Hawkes left NYPD. Stopping at his favorite coffee shop, he ordered his black with two sugars like he did everynight after work. Heading back out he crossed the street towards his place, when out of nowhere, a black sedan smacked into Hawkes, sending him flying through the air like a frisbee. Landing back on the ground, you could hear the sound of his skull hit the road. As the intoxicated driver looked out his window, he realized what he had done. Knowing he couldn't afford another ticket, he took off , leaving Hawkes broken body laying in the street. As a couple came out of the bar, they seen Hawkes laying there. "Oh my God"!!! "call 911 Mike, tell them we have a hit and run". As the Paramedic's arrived they assesed Hawkes. After inserting a breathing tube and neck brace, they got him on the hardboard and transported him to the Hospital. "Angel of Mercy", We have a male hit and run vicitm". "Approximetly 34 years of age, multiple contussions, possible spinal injuries, broken ribs, punctured lung, and multiple internal bleeding. I.D reads Dr. Sheldon Hawkes, NYPD CSI Crime Scene Unit". The nurse on dispatch knew the name as soon as she heard it. Picking up the phone she called Det.Taylor. "Hello", said Stella half asleep. "Yes this Christina from The Angel of Mercy Hospital, we need to inform Mac Taylor, that his CSI Sheldon Hawkes has been a victim of a hit and run. He is being brought to the Hospital as we speak. It doesn't look good, he has severe injuries to his spine, neck, he also has a punctured lung, broken ribs, multiple fratures" "I thought you'd like to know". "Thank-you, I'll let Det Taylor know". "Mac"! "Mac"!, called Stella. "What is it love"? That was the Hospital on the phone, Sheldon was a victim of a hit and run tonight, they say his injuries are life threating, you need to get over there now". After Mac was up, dressed and headed out the door, Stella called Lindsay. "Hey Lindsay, I need to let you know that Sheldon, was victim to a hit and run tonight. His injuries are life threating, Mac's already over there". "Thanks Stella, I'll wake Danny". Meanwhile..... Sheldon was being worked on in the Trauma room when Mac showed up. "I'm Det. Mac Taylor, Were could I find Sheldon Hawkes"? "He's in Trauma Room one, but you can't go in there". Mac didn't care about any rules at the moment, as he ran down the hall and into the Trauma Room. "You need to leave Sir", yelled the Trauma nurse. "That's my CSI, I want some answers". "If you go out into the hall Sir, I'll send someone to talk too you". Mac could see Sheldon's lifeless body laying there on the Trauma table. Knowing he had no choice but to wait, he left the room. At that moment Danny showed up. "Mac, how is he"? "We're not sure yet Danny". "They're supposed to be sending someone out to talk with me". "How the hell did this happen Mac"? "I'm not sure Danny, that's what we'll have to figure out".

As Mac and Danny waited Flack walked in. "Mac"! "How is he"? "We're not sure yet Flack, they haven't come out yet". "We have Officer's looking for that black sedan, the couple said they seen round the corner and disappear". "That's great", "Now if we could just get some information from the Trauma doctor". Meanwhile..... Stella couldn't get back to sleep, so she got up and started cleaning the house. being as quiet as she could, so as not to wake the twins at three in the morning. Once she had finished cleaning she called Lindsay. She just had a feeling she might be awake too. (Phone rings) "hello"! said Lindsay. "Hey Linds". "How you doing"? "I'm a nervous wreck, have you heard anything yet"? "No"! "Have you"? "Nothing, poor Hawkes", "I hope he makes it". "You and me both, said Stella. Meanwhile.... The Trauma doctor, had finally come out of the room. "Are you Det,Taylor"? "I am yes". "We are taking Hawkes to surgery, he has internal hemmoraging in his stomach and spleen, along with a punctured lung, multiple fractures, cracked ribs and possible skull fracture". "Does he have family"? "Yes, he does". "It may be a good idea to contact them , as his situation is critical, and it doesn't look promising". "I'll return after surgery to talk to you somemore. After the doctor left. Mac asked Danny to call the girls, while he went to call Sheldon's parents, to inform them of the bad news. Meanwhile..... Caroline was feeling alone, and asked Stella if she could come over and visit with her for a while. "Sure Caroline, you are alway's welcome here, as long as you are sure , you're okay to drive this time of night". Once Caroline got to Stella's she broke down and cried. "What's the matter Caroline"? "I'm just so emotional, with being pregnant, and not being able to get away for our Honeymoon". "this is twice now", maybe we're cursed or something"? "You're not cursed Caroline". "It's just a serious of unfortunate events". "It will all come together, and you'll have your Honeymoon, you'll see". "Come on, you can lay down, in the spare room". Meanwhile..... After 6 hours of waiting Sheldon's parents showed up. "Mr.&Mrs. Hawkes"? "Yes"! "I'm Det. Mac Taylor, I'm sorry we have to meet under these circumstances". "How is our Son"? asked Mrs.Hawkes. "We're not sure yet, he hasn't come out of surgery". Just at that moment the doctor came out of surgery. "You must be Sheldon's parents"? "Yes"! 'How is our son , doctor"? "Not good, I'm sorry to inform you the next twenty four hours will confirm whether or not your son lives". "we've repaired most of his internal injuries, but he has several pieces if bone, lodged against his spine, which is causing fluid to build up". "I'm afraid from here, all we can do is watch and hope that he remains stable". "Thank-you doctor", said Mr.Hawkes. "Would you like to go see him now"? "I think we'll go to the chapel first, and then arrange for a priest to see Sheldon". Mac knew Sheldon was very religous, but he wasn't about to give up on his CSI. So while the parents prayed, Mac went and seen Sheldon. "You listen to me Hawkes, you fight this, you fight this and don't let go, we all need you here with us". "Please Sheldon, fight hard, return to us". Once Mac was finished talking in his ear, he took Sheldon's hand and held it tight. "Fight damn it Sheldon, Fight". With that said, Mac left the room to go home to Stella and his family
Flack left his car with Danny, to get home to Lindsay, while he drove with Mac, to pick up Caroline. "When they got in the door, the girls were up feeding the twins and Madison. "There's daddy's little Angels", said Mac. "How is he Mac"? asked Stella. "Not good love, they don't think he'll make it, his parents have called for a priest". Stella teared up. "Awe!! "Come on sweetheart", said Mac as he held his wife tight. "This can't be true Mac, please say it's not true". "He's such a caring person". "Why him, it's not right to take someone who always helps other without thought to themselves". "I wish I could love, but I can't, he's broken everywhere, from fractures to internal injuries, including skull and spinal injury". The twins were now watching, they didn't understand what was happening, but they knew mommy was sad. "Are you ready to go Caroline"? asked Flack. "Sure Don". "Stella"! "call me if you need me". Not being able to speak, Stella nodded her head. Once they were outside, Caroline asked Don, if he thought Hawkes would live through the day. "To be honest with you love, I don't think he will". Meanwhile..... Danny headed home to pick up Lindsay for her Ultrasound appointment. "You ready to go love, We don't want to be late". "I'm ready Danny, let's go". As they drove , Lindsay asked Danny how Hawkes was. "He's not good Lindsay", "His parents have sent for a priest". "Oh God Danny, not Hawkes, he's one of a kind". "I know Linds, let's try not to think about it right now". Once they got to the Ultrasound Dept. The nurse took them right in. "Okay Mrs. Messer", hop on up". "Now how far along are you"? "Six month's", give or take a day". "Are you sure, you are aweful big for only six months". "Let's have a look". "Okay, ther's the head, and there's the hea........"Just give me two minutes I'll be right back with a doctor". "What's going on Danny"? "What's wrong with our baby"? "I'm not sure love, just calm down, here comes the doctor". "Okay Mrs.Messer, let's have another look here". As the doctor moved the wand around, he bagan to count. "I see one, two, three". "Yup, definetly three in there nurse". "Congrat's Mr&Mrs.Messer on your triplets". All of a sudden the Doctor and Lindsay heard a thud. "Danny"? "Danny"? "Is he okay"? "He's fine Mrs.Messer". "he's just having a little sleep". It must have been an hour later, Danny final awoke. "Oh sweetheart I had this aweful dream that we were having Triplets and.........." Looking around Danny realized it wasn't a dream, he was actually having triplets. "I think I'm going to pass out again". Meanwhile...
Meanwhile... Mac had returned back to the Hospital, to check on Hawkes. "How is he doctor"? "Not good Det.Taylor, there has been no change, but I'm very concerned with the fluid building in his back". "I want to drain it, but his parents will not allow it". "They said their son has been through to much already". "What happens if you don't drain it"? "I'm aftraid he'll die". "That's all infection, it will eventually kill him". "Do it then". "You can't authorize that , you're not his next of kin". "Oh, but I am". "Here's the paper". "Hawkes informed me a while ago that because of his parents belief's , he knew they wouldn't allow treatment". So he had me sign this form with him, making me his benifactor for his care", Now do it". After the doctor left to prpare the O.R, Mac sat down beside Hawkes and held his hand. "It will be okay Hawkes". "Just keep fighting". Meanwhile.... Lindsay and Danny had just gotten home. "You should lay down Danny, that bump on your head is pretty nasty". "I''m fine Linds", "Stop worrying". "Okay", "You take DJ and I'll call Stella, to give her the good news". "I', sure she could use some". "Good news"! said Danny to himself. "More like Hell's Nightmare", in three months". "What was that Danny"? "Nothing love". 'God I need an asprin". Meanwhile.... "hello"! said Stella. "Hey Stella, it's Lindsay". "Are you okay"? "Yeah"! "I'm fine, just tired". "I have some news for you". "Good I hope". "Of course it's good and funny". "Well, what is it"? "Danny and I are having triplets". "Excuse me"? "this is a joke right"? "No"!! I'm serious". "To make matters worse, Danny passed out in the Ultrasound room and smacked his head". *laughing** "Is he okay"? "Yeah"!!! "Just a little bumped up", but I think, he's still in shock". "Oh that's great". "I'll let Mac know". Meanwhile.... Flack and Caroline were relaxing at home, when the phone rang. "Hello"! said Caroline. "hey Caroline, It's Lindsay". "Hi Linds", how did the Ultrasound go"? "Great"!! "Danny and I are having triplets". "I'm sorry"? "I said, Danny and I are having triplets". "Oh, that's wonderful". "How's Danny doing"? "Not good, he passed out when he heard, smacked his head". "He's okat though"? "Oh yeah"! "He's fine, just a little shocked". "Well good for you two". "I'll ;let Flack know". "Thanks Caroline", bye".
