I think it's a brilliant move, and he can do whatever he wants, he's got the money and they've got the time, so go for it:bolian: I'm watching, he's a smooth, eloquent, inspirational leader~and tells what he's going to do on the economy, health care and getting our troops out of Iraq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a mistake for the McCain camp to dismiss Obama's days as a community organizer as a bunch of airy-fairy nonsense. Obama has clearly learned how to movitate people, even if his style seems overly naive. At the top of his Web-site is this "quote" from Obama "I'm asking you to believe, not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington..I'm asking you to believe in yours" OK, that sound puffy, nice and so easy to mock. Except that most people gravitate to goodwill if approached right. What most people tend not to have readily available, however are the political connections and savy to change things they dislike about their neighborhoods, city governments and workplaces. Community organizing believes that gov. should be of the people, by the people, and for the people. You can't get much more patriotic or democratic that that. And if McCain/Palin camp weren't so busy ridiculing this concept, they might wake up in time to realize it might cost them the election!

~Footnote~, I just watched his info, OMG, I was crying, he's so completly exhilrating and stupendous, he is magical for sure> He showed the average American family, and had quite a few families profiled. He really wants change for us, and for all of America, he's got a plan and it's going to change and help us all out of the mess we're in now YES WE CAN

I watched the 30 min ad if you will, and I will say this it told me alot, it showed alot of the human side of Obama, and what he hopes to get done, it showed the life of the middle class and how the hard times are affecting them, and how they try and hold their heads up and move through each day one at a time, hour by hour, minute by minute, bill by bill.

As I said it showed the human side of Obama and it did IMO alot of times you see them in debates, on the trail, in ads. But you don't necessairly really see them the way that he let the people see him tonight. I could say that some of it was an act but the emotions when he talked about his mother, and grandparents, the parts with his children, laughing and smiling and being there, that seemed real to me.

Everyone who runs for President promise this is what I WILL do when I am president, and this gets me, I only wish they would say something like This is wanna do if I become president. I think this way only because no nominee can guarentee what they promise, because the congress and senate are involved, and there are some of each parties who do and don't support him. But it has always been this way and it will continue.

But as to the 30 min ad, I think he did a good job and made the right choice in the matter.

oh haha, sorry, didn't mean to spam!

Um. Please watch the video. It's guy who fought in Iraq and isn't very happy about what Obama has been saying about it.

So I early voted yesterday, in my first general election ever! The line I was in, in AZ, was 5 hours long! That's right! I was in line from 8:00am to 1:00pm to vote. But it was worth it ;).

And about the video Hollyyo posted, no matter how many advances we made there, it was still a mistake to be there. Period. We aren't the world police. Not everyone wants us to come in, and change everything. America is a bully. And I believe that if Obama wins, that will change. If McCain wins, we'll be seen as a group of people who enjoy controlling others. And to tell you the truth, that is not something I want to be a part of.

You know I haven't been in this thread in a while, but I have to say,I know how it is to be on the lower side of the middle class. How? because I am there, and it is hard when there isn't enough money to pay all the bills or enough money to feed the animals.Every day to wish for a better way to live life,I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I don't see my mom upset because she can't offer everything and give us what we want. Now,I'm not posting this to get sympathy from anyone.I'm doing it to prove a point.

As I watch the world plummet in it's own economical despair I see people where I live with the same problems as mine lay their lives out there, wishing and wanting help, some way to pay the bills to live and move on.It's not easy to sit down and watch my mom cry,or hear her talk about how tired she is of the pain of not having it another way.Typing this now it makes me upset.Truth is I was and is beginning to lose all hope in the government. When I first saw part of an Obama speech and herd what he had to say,I felt like there is some hope for some change, some hope for the help that lots of people and communities need.I'm not a stranger to hard nights wishing it was better for us all.

I fear that if Obama was to lose and McCain to win that it's the end for all middle class families,I fear they,we will lose everything.Seeing McCain and Palin up there on a podium I feel they spit out lies,I feel that they will be the ones to take everything away from people who have nothing.Barrack Obama gives me some hope of change, some hope that I can see my mom happy without a care in the world and out of all this debt and insanity.Sorta of like you said DeShadowSeeker it is hard day by day,but I feel if Obama is elected that he will make the days and nights easier to breathe.

I see people bash him and complain, but they don't listen to what the man has to say, why? because the color of his skin, because the rumors of what faith he believes in.All in all what people refuse to see is that we are all equal,no matter what color we are, what faith we believe in,we are all human inside and out.I'm sorry to all the people who Support McCain/Palin who think I am wrong but I'm posting from experience, from my own fears and the fears of the families around me.The sad thing is because one person said he was a terrorist the rest had to follow.Hasn't anyone ever herd of be a leader and not a follower.

This whole Joe the plumber thing is ridiculous,I think he is just trying for his shot at fifteen minutes of the fame.He says he is middle class but I just don't see why he is such a front runner in all of this mess.I admit it's awesome and all to have a woman trying to run for a spot but she wasn't the only one up there,Hilary was to.My point I guess in saying is Welfare sucks,I no from the life I live, the money sucks because there isn't enough,if Mccain wins we won't have enough to pay for anything in this country.I'm for Obama because I believe he will help,I believe he will offer some change, and McCain will help a lot of people by pushing them further to lose everything they have.

Sorry for the long post,I'm not one for them,I just wanted to voice my opinion I guess.

Joe the plumber eyes book deal, political career

JOE the plumber is making the most of his time in the spotlight and there is even talk of a country music career.

Joe - real name Samuel Wurzelbacher - became a household name when he challenged Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama over plans to raise taxes on those earning over $US250,000 ($370,000).

He is now a mini-celebrity with possible plans to write a book or go into politics.

To handle the avalanche of requests for media appearances, he has signed with Nashville public relations firm The Press Office.

But there were suggestions yesterday that the suddenly famous plumber might getting a bit too big for his boots.

Mr Wurzelbacher left Republican presidential candidate John McCain red-faced at a rally in Defiance, Ohio, yesterday when he was missing in action at a campaign event. "Joe's with us today. Joe, where are you? Where is Joe?" Senator McCain asked.

"Well, you're all Joe the Plumbers. So all of you stand up," the veteran Republican said after regrouping.

The awkward moment was apparently the result of a campaign miscommunication.

The burly plumber made good on his role as a campaign prop and turned up at a later event in Sandusky, Ohio, where he urged people to "vote for a real American".

One of the three people co-managing Mr Wurzelbacher is country music artist and producer Aaron Tippin, sparking speculation that a music career could be next.

But Mr Wurzelbacher poured cold water on that, saying: "I don't think people are that deaf-tone (sic) out there."

Oh lord, only in America. I have seen some interviews with him, this guy is dumber than a pile of bricks.

One of the funniest things i have seen so far, is this website:

bwhahaha! it is funny. And they add stuff too it, just click around and have your sound on.

This is so great that we all have our different opinions on all of this. 3 more days, and big kudos to all who've voted, so far:bolian:, I'm lucky my polling place is at a church nearby, so I can walk over. and Hollyyo god bless all our military and this guy's video, but he to me got it a bit distorted. Obama is against the war, not our military, and he's the one who wants us out of there, not McCain:(and thank's Destiny for all those links, I've heard most of those and everything and the kitchen sink has been thrown at him and he still stands steadfast, It was charming to see him with his daughters trick-or-treating last night in Chicago and the press still got in his face and all he said was "come on guys":vulcan: no nastiness, ever:) and they keep suggesting that Obama is a Socialist, like that's some kind of disease, Sweden is a socialist country and has health care for all, their economy is thriving and a happy population. I'm not avocating this way of life, but it doesn't seem all that bad:confused:

SELECTIVE SOCIALISM

The McCain campaign has resorted to calling Obama's plan to "redistribute the wealth" Marxist. This is not a socialist plan. Profit-sharing or revenue-sharing is very common in business. Many companies share profits with their employees. Major League Baseball redistributes wealth from larger markets. teams up with big television contracts to smaller market teams to sustain the health of the league. Pre. Bush, John McCain and their ilk talk like they are against socialism. Sure, the want to privatize profits. But as the recent Wall Street bailout proves, they are more than willing to pratice socialism when it comes to the losses!

 okay got one for you Palin takes prank call from fake French president (Excerpt 1) Sarah Palin unwittingly took a prank call Saturday from a Canadian comedian posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy and telling her she would make a good president someday. (Excerpt 2) When Audette refers to Canadian singer Steph Carse as Canada's prime minister, Palin replies: "Well, he's doing fine and yeah, when you come into a position underestimated it gives you an opportunity to prove the pundits and the critics wrong. You work that much harder." Canada's prime minister is Stephen Harper.

Okay from there you have to read the rest cause it is very funny.

Okay this is not funny at all, Man Leaps to His Death From Bridge, Asks Obama for Help - A 52-year-old man who leapt to his death from a freeway overpass left a note asking for Barack Obama to help his family.

Obama's Grandmother Dies on Eve of Election
Ann Dunham
-- the grandmother of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama -- died Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Barack Obama's maternal grandmother -- Madelyn Dunham -- died in her home Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The Democratic presidential candidate announced the news in a joint statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng.

"She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances," the statement said.
The candidate learned of her death Monday morning while he was campaigning in Jacksonville, Fla. He planned to go ahead with campaign appearances.

Late last month, Obama took a break from campaigning and flew to Hawaii to be with the 86-year-old Dunham, who helped raise him.

I saw this when I first got home and sat and cried, how ironic & the timing and so unbelivealbe that she never saw him win. At least he got to see her before she died. First his mom of cancer and then his beloved grandma:( may she RIP.. poor guy, going through all of this right now~

I also posted the link above in the RIP thread in the media forum, Also for those who just read the quote I posted, more has been added to the story at the time of posting it was developing. BTW the McCain campaign did send their condolenses to the Obama family.

A "Bittersweet" time for Obama, He then explained to the crowd - who seemed unaware of Madelyn Dunham’s passing - that she died “peacefully” with his sister at her side.
“Look, she is going home,” he said. “I’m not going to talk about it too long, because it’s hard a little to talk about.” [More can be read via that link].
But there is one thing that is good Obama's Grandmother's Absentee Ballot will be Counted by State of Hawaii While Sen. Barack Obama's late grandmother Madelyn Dunham will not live to see the outcome of this historic election, her 2008 vote will count.

Now this just seems wrong, talk about your bad timing..
RNC Hits Obama For Visit To Sick Grandmother they apparently filed this on the day she died. I am sure they probably didn't know at the time she had passed, but either way just seems tacky. Should read the blogs talk about getting mad :scream: Wow  .
