Yeah, I agree with the comebacks this year. The D-Generation X (which unleashed the inner bad-ass in me), The Hardys, well, in the case of MNM, it was only a 5 day absence, so, it kind of counts :)confused:)

2006 WWE Pay-Per-Views... A look back

I originally made this list while I was damn bored in class and what my teacher was talking about just disinterests me. This is only 12 of 24 matches. And just what is this list? This is a list of my favorite WWE PPV matches from 2006. Coming from New Year's Revolution to Armageddon, I made sure not to leave out one live event. They are in no particular order.

~ The Royal Rumble Match
This match is the best type of battle royal. It involves 30 people and 90 seconds after one enters, another participant joins in. My favorite part of the '06 Royal Rumble Match was when RVD and Mysterio were a little bit doing some double team. That brought back memories of the days these two were WWE Tag Team Champions.

~ Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton vs. Kurt Angle (WrestleMania22)
Sure, this was a short match, but I recently watched it on home video and there were amazing moves showed off here and there. The German Suplex Angle delivered to both Orton and Rey AT THE SAME TIME amazed me and the sudden turn of events like Rey countering an Angle Slam with an arm drag, then drop kicking Orton, connecting with a 619 and a unique West Coast Pop for the 1-2-3.

~ Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker (No Way Out)
It was pure technical wrestling. You have two of the company's best going at it for the World Title. One pulls of a move and the other counters it just as impressively. The end of it was rather questionable because Kurt was able to pin 'Taker from the triangle choke he was locked in.

~ Edge vs. John Cena (Unforgiven)
Having recently watched The Best of Raw 2006 refreshed my memory of this match. What I like most was Cena's determination. Sure he was booed at big time, but just like WrestleMania, in your face! He still won.

~ Lita vs. Trish Stratus (Unforgiven)
I didn't watch this via PPV, but thankfully, The Best of Raw 2006 showed this match. Trish was at her best and I tip my hat off because she won by submission... using Bret Hart's Sharpshooter! I gotta admit it though, what happened after the match got me teary eyes as well.

~ Rey Mysterio vs. JBL (Judgement Day)
What makes this match special to me is because it is the ONLY PPV World Title defense Rey had wherein he succeeded.

~ DX vs. Spirit Squad (Vengeance)
The after-match got me LMAO. Whatshisname from SS who was KO'd was forced to kiss Hunter's ass.

~ Money In The Bank Ladder Match (WrestleMania 22)
Best Part: RVD's 5 Star Frog Splash from the top of a ladder. There were near wins, I got to see Shelton Benjamin springboard from out of nowhere and knock down a ladder, I winced when Finlay hit Ric Flair with a shillelagh (I had to check the dictionary for its correct spelling :D). Over all, it was a damn entertaining match.

~ Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon (WrestleMania22
When I first watched WrestleMania22, I came in this thread and giddy-joy shared my favorite moments. This match was one of them.

~ Carlito vs. Randy Orton
Five Words: Amazing rKo to a finish.

~ John Cena vs. Kurt Angle vs. Kane vs. Carlito vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters (New Year's Revolution)
The infamous 2006 New Year's Revolution. Some say Cena got screwed, some say Vinnie Mac was just saving his company. Whatever they all say, let's face it, we were all entertained.

~ Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero (No Mercy)
This was the Falls Count Anywhere match. For the first time that year, you got to see goody-good two shoes Rey Mysterio in a match with almost 'extreme rules' written all over it.

...That would be all for now, Ill be posting part two really soon!

Trish vs. Lita at Unforgiven was a classic!

Hmm, maybe I'll post a list myself (but I'm too damn lazy to do so)

~ Carlito vs. Randy Orton
Five Words: Amazing rKo to a finish.

Yeah, and a busted lip to ruin Orton's handsome face.

~ John Cena vs. Kurt Angle vs. Kane vs. Carlito vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters (New Year's Revolution)
The infamous 2006 New Year's Revolution. Some say Cena got screwed, some say Vinnie Mac was just saving his company. Whatever they all say, let's face it, we were all entertained.
I actually put that as one of the worst matches of the year. The problem with the Elimination Chamber is that you have to book it properly (I don't mean who wins the match, but the order of eliminations) in order to be successful. Both Elimination Chambers failed to do this. During the NYR Chamber, the first two knocked out was Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels, two of the most over athletes in the WWE at the time. That just really took the crowd out of it. The final 3 were Carlito, who at the time wasn't ready for a championship push; Chris Masters, whose involvement in WWE makes me think that they have a contract with BALCO, and John Cena, who at the time everyone was sick of, especially the live audience. As for the ECW (if I can even call it that anymore) chamber, they took out RVD and CM Punk, the two most over wrestlers in that locker room, extremely early, and took Sabu, another extremely over wrestler, out of the match even before it began.

Hea all, just thought I would post the winners of New Year's Revolution:

WWE Champion John Cena def. Umaga
Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy def. Johnny Nitro (Steel Cage Match)
Cryme Tyme wins a five-team Tag Team Turmoil Match
Kenny Dykstra def. Ric Flair
Women’s Champion Mickie James def. Victoria
DX vs. World Tag Team Champions Rated-RKO (No Contest)
Chris Masters def. Carlito

And for you Kenny Dykstra fans, head over to WWE.com to check out some yummy pictures of him in a hotel! WWE Photographers followed him around for the day while he got ready to fight Ric Flair, and there's some mighty Fine pictures of him for us women to enjoy ;)

Aight, I just checked WWE.com myself for results and I gotta say I am damn proud of John Cena winning (Shoot all your cynical words, Exit_8A. It doesn't matter if you love John Cena or not, he's there to stay.

And I am SO glad that Mickie is still Women's Champion. She's already proven herself in the business, having only been in the company for only a year.

BTW, what's up with Hunter's knee? Randy Orton was a bloody mess and now H has a bad knee...

I love this rivalry .

Now, Kenny... He's not exactly my type, but I won't deny that he's got looks as well... :D.

(Curses very slow internet acess)

(After seeing Kenny's pics) Hot damn!!!!

Anyway, strictly speaking that's MHO, NY Revolution this year ain't bad. C'mon! Jeff Hardy won, Mickie did, and John did too.

How dare they put Great Khali back on televison! Live televison at that. They took him off of SmackDown for a while, because they had to edit all of the matches that he had while on there.

And as far as Triple H goes, he tore his quad exactly 5 years to the day that he made his return from the first injury that he had.

Call me mean on what I'm about to say, these days in wrestling, you never know when someone really had a real injury, especially Triple H. He might have gotten another movie role and needs time to film (that's how Kane was written off for See No Evil.) Or maybe he was given time off to spend with his daughter. Well, if it's a real injury, I wish him well and hope he comes back soon.

Shoot all your cynical words, Exit_8A. It doesn't matter if you love John Cena or not, he's there to stay.

Yes, he's here to stay but I've got a bone to pick with Cena. I mean, I like his character and all, but don't you think his title reign in just a little too good to be true? He's stacked against all odds and he always retains the title and I think that's a litte... strange. I'm not taking sides or anything, it's just something which keeps me wondering. But what I do agree about Cena is that he's a very controversial champion.

No matter what the thing is behind the scenes with Hunter, maybe you're right, Nicky, maybe the resons lie in his PERSONAL LIFE that we have no business to ponder on.

Cena only "defies odds" because the company puts him out there as to fill the void that was left by Stone Cold and The Rock. Judging on how things have been so far for JohnJohn, WWE's ambitions with him might be having a backlash.

The Great Khali should've stuck to making movies. Ever seen THE LONGEST YARD? Yeah, with Steve Austin and Goldberg, guess what? Khali's there too. See for yourself.

It's strange that WWE insists on making Cena that champ wherein there's a whole fans love and hate him thing going on.

WEIRD. :D.

Piece of advice for Khali: STICK TO ACTING!!!

Here is part two of my favorite 2006 WWE Pay-Per-View matches:

~ Triple H vs. Big Show (New Year's Revolution)
I dunno, it just happens to be one of the most talked about NYR '06 matches. I came to school the next day and this match was a hot topic.

~ Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania22)
Yep, the Casket Match. I only liked it because, well... 14-0.

~ Rob Van Dam vs. Shelton Benjamin (Backlash)
I love RVD for his high-flying, high risk maneuvers. Plus, this was a Winner Takes All for the Intercontinental Championship and Money In The Bank.

~ Booker T and Sharmell vs. Boogeyman (WrestleMania22)
I was disgusted and entertained at the same time.

~ Big Show vs. The Undertaker (The Great American Bash)
This was the Punjabi Prison Match, first one, actually. For those that don't know, here is what it's about: There are two structures made of wood (don't know what kind) that is built, well, like a Prison. The inner structure has 4 doors. It can only be opened when a participant tells a referee to do so and that participant has only 60 seconds to escape through that door. Once the minute is over, that door will be closed for the rest of the match and can not be opened again. The second structure, however, has no doors (actually, it does), so the only way out is up to you. The first person to get out is declared the winner.

In other words: You must incapacitate your opponent enough to escape both structures.

The match was gruesome, bloody and exciting.

:D, that'll be it as for now, I still got more...

:D, I've got the 3rd part of my favorite PPV Matches of '06. Let's just say that it's a long list.

~ John Cena vs. Edge (Royal Rumble)
Edge f'n tapped, man!

~ Tazz vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler (ECW One Night Stand)
Let's just say, Tazz is loyal to ECW.

~ John Cena vs. King Booker vs. Big Show
For once, the SmackDown! guy one over the other champs, oh wait, this was the first of this kind of match.

~ Team DX vs. Team Rated rKo (Survivor Series)
Team DX was made up of my favorite people in the WWE and though DX barely even tagged anyone another than their fellow DX memember, at least they whooped arrogant asses.

~ Batista vs. King Booker (Surivivor Series)
Though Batista hit Booker with the belt to win the match, it was just an "eye for an eye" thing going on back there.

I've got part 4 to come...

Speaking of that Punjabi Match, I remember watching it last week. Exactly last week.

It was good and bloody at the same time. A very unique match.

I liked Cena's entrance on last year's Royal Rumble. It was damn cool! (Imagine Carlito here)

Was that the entrance that he used where he came out on the thing that kind of looked like a spaceship? If that's it, it was very cool!
carlitog.gif
I really didn't like the WrestleMania entrance though . I just read the funniest thing, you know how when you go to the wrestling news sites and those dead links come up on the bottom of the page, the ones that you click on and they don't take you anywhere, well one just said Wrestlemania 23 John Cena and Eminem vs Johnny Nitro and Fed X, oops I mean Kevin Federline. That would be funny if that really happened though, but it wont.
cenag.gif

I LOVE THE SIGINATURE, NikkyJamez!!! LMAO. Eminem is from the hood and is real deal white rapper bad-ass. It's entertainin if that ^ were true.

I was watching Heat this morning, and I read a banner that says "K-FED DUMPED BRITNEY FOR JOHNNY NITRO". Totally LMAO!!!

Alright, let me try something new here. Every now and then we feature a WWE-related picture and just totally talk about it. Good, bad, funny, serious... whatever.

Ashley's SmackDown! debut 6 months ago. Hmm, ever since she got injured and moved to SmackDown!, I kind of forgot about her talent. Like, if she can even wrestle decently or not...
