If you are a Batista fan, you probably don't want to watch this week's ECW on SciFi show. This weeks show was live from the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, and was not an ECW/SmackDown combined taping, so there were nothing in there but pure ECW fans. The main event for that night was Big Show vs. Batista for the ECW title, continuing the trend of WWE Superstar vs. Big Show in an ECW main event. Lets just say the crowd wasn't having it that night. I don't know if it was the crowd tired of seeing the main event on each ECW show being WWE Superstar vs. Big Show (which is what I am tired of seeing on that show), or if it was that they don't like Big Show and Batista. I like Batista myself, but he should NOT have been in an ECW main event, especially in front of a mostly ECW crowd. Of course, being in front of an ECW crowd, the crowd chants came back. The best of them being in the middle of the Big Show/Batista match, when the crowd started chanting "Change The Channel!" The ECW fanbase can be vulgar and sometimes outright rude, but they show that they are the most passionate fans out there, and if they are given a good match, they electrify the match tenfold. Of course, if they don't like what they see, you get a result similar to the Big Show/Batista match.
I do have to say to his credit, Big Show really handled the crowd reaction really well, taunting the crowd every chance he got. Batista, on the other hand, seemed like he was really affected by the negative reaction. I guess he is so used to coming out to an overwhelming positive reaction by the crowd.
