Why Lindsay REALLY Must Go (Pt. 2)

When I watched MM, I didn't know that was supposed to be a hint until after we found out what her secret was.
Hey, I didn't even know until AZ said it was a hint. Even after I knew what that "oh so dark secret" was.

I noticed that Mac wanted her in the lab -- that was the only thing the writers did for continuity. Stella said in "Zoo York" that Mac hired Lindsey because she was thorough. So if Lindsey's in the lab, she'd be thorough in processing and let the other members of the team collect evidence for her. (Or else she'd be whining all the way)

The morgue scene in Silent Night almost made me laugh. Lindsay only seems to have that one scrunch face look.
Ugh I can not watch that whole scene from beginning to end it's so arghragffft

(Words cannot explain). I almost feel bad for Anna. The key word there is almost.

It bothers me that I'm behind with the eps so I can't complain about Lindsay along with you guys. I read everything though, I'm just letting you know that I'm not dead. :)

I kinda figured her comment about having seen bloodier crime scenes in MM was a reference to her deep, dark secret, but the whole thing didn't make any sense logically when the secret came to light. As others have said, it makes no sense that she's pissed about being kept away from a crime scene in MM that pretty much exactly mirrors the one from her past and then runs from another one that has little in common with the one from her past makes no sense logically. A prime example of the inconsistency in the writing for her character.

Don't you think, though, that the fact that Danny fell in love with Lindsay means that she must have redeeming characteristics?
He obviously didn't find her annoying or self-aggrandizing. Maybe their opposite personalities complement each other's. They each have what the other lacks kinda thing.
[I don't think Danny was ever truly attracted to Aiden because they're too alike!]

I'm not trying to rile anyone up, I'm interested in this forum's opinion on this.

Honestly, no. I think Danny is a damaged man who seeks out people who mistreat him or are hard on him. In season one, he was constantly trying to get Mac's approval...and failing. Mac may have had cause, but at times he was cruel to Danny, and yet Danny kept going back for more. The same is true with Lindsay. No matter how she mistreated Danny, brushed him off, took advantage of him--he kept going back for more. So no, Danny being in love with her doesn't make me think she has any redeeming qualities at all, though I do wonder if TPTB were hoping people would think, "Gee, people like Danny, so if Danny likes the new girl, people will like her, too!" I think it backfired--her shoddy treatment of Danny made many like her less, not more.

He obviously didn't find her annoying or self-aggrandizing. Maybe their opposite personalities complement each other's. They each have what the other lacks kinda thing.

But I'm still not sure that the things she brings that he doesn't have are good things. He's sweet, and she's selfish. He's warm, she's cold. He cares about people, she cares about herself. Sometimes people are attracted to people who are nothing like them and it's not a good thing. Nice girls go for assholes; nice guys go for bitches.

I definitely think it's an interesting point, and perhaps the one TPTB were thinking of when they paired them up. But I think the pairing has only served to further highlight Lindsay's bad traits--her selfishness, her self-involvement, her "me! me! me!" complex.

I personally haven't seen anything to indicate that Danny is in love with her. Yes they had sex, but that doesn't necessarily mean love. As for her redeeming characteristics, even Carmine said in his interview about Season 4 that it's "a possibility, that maybe she wasn't all Danny thought she'd be." That says to me that what he sees on the surface might not be what he wants when he looks underneath.

Sex on a pool table doesn't equal love and until I hear Danny utter those words to Lindsay, I'll never believe he's in love with her.

He obviously didn't find her annoying or self-aggrandizing.
He seems very annoyed with her this season. It's hard to tell that Danny even likes Lindsay, let alone loves her.

[I don't think Danny was ever truly attracted to Aiden because they're too alike!]
Danny and Aiden were friends and even though they flirted, they were never more than friends but I have to disagree. The chemistry was definitely there and there is absolutely no chemistry between Danny and Lindsay.

I think Danny was definitely attracted to Aiden, I mean just from what we saw; their banter, Danny's little jealous streak, and if Vanessa Furlito had been around longer I think something between them had the possibility of playing out nicely...

the Aiden factor aside, like Top41 so clearly outlined, Danny seems driven toward people who use him up.

On top of that it's not lost on me that Danny seemed to start really pursuing Lindsay the more she shot him down, finally she caved, and after they had sex, Danny's interest cooled off exponentially. Almost like she wasn't interesting now that she didn't present a challenge.

Finally, and I know this has been said, but I have to reiterate. Sex does not equal Love. Not only do I despise the fact that people assume he's in love with her, I also detest the assumption they're a canon couple, when we've seen no evidence of them 'dating' or anything outside of work. Canon they slept together but it's inaccurate to say they're a canon couple.

Amen to that. I don't see how anyone can state they are a CANON ship. They had sex. Once. On a pool table. After doing tequila shots. That's all.

Danny and Lindsay are no more or less a ship than Mac/Stella or Danny/Flack or any other CSI: NY pair anyone ships.

It's great for fanfiction, but it ain't a part of the show. If wanting a ship to happen makes it CANON then poor Danny would be flat on his back 24/7/365; because I think I've seen him shipped with everyone on the show.

Yeah I'm not going to believe there's any love until I hear him say it. Because if what we're seeing now is considered love do you realize how many people out there are in love and have no idea?!?!.

I think what bothers me is when people are so sure of themselves. Like yes they are in love, or Lindsay clearly did this because or what Danny obviously meant by saying so and so etc. I don't think we as an audience can know any of these things for sure unless there's something to clearly back it up (Like condom spray was hardly the crystal ball I was looking for). For all we know maybe they have a poopie sex life because Danny doesn't like doing it w/ something that lies there like a piece of bib lettuce and maybe Lindsay has a tail!!!!

I not sure if I would have ever wanted to see Aiden and Danny together. But I do know this. Had they gotten together there still would have been like 10000000x more chemistry between them than D/L will ever have.

You know what, I wouldn't really believe that he loves her even if he said it. Those three words don't seem to mean as much as they used to sometimes, and I can see him forcing himself to say it simply because he got himself stuck in a relationship he's not sure how to get out of. I think he wouldn't want to hurt her that much either, so he'd just go with her and get depressed.
Something along those lines, anyway.
Agreeing with the rest of you, Danny's a nice guy going for people who doesn't deserve him and aren't good for him and just aren't good people in general.
No, there isn't anything between the two. I think they had sex for release but that there weren't any feelings involved.

*is hoping they'll be incredibly awkward because none of them were "ready" and split up*

There is always something for me to not like about Lindsay in every episode. Tonight's repeat of Oedipus Hex, no matter how many times I watch it, I still cannot believe she said " I could give fathers bad news all day long". It totally bothers me she said that. Earth to Lindsay ... hello, fathers can grieve when something happens to their loved one. Yeah yeah, the writers wrote that line but she still said it. Oh, it scared the crap out of me when they did a close up of Lindsay's eyes then backed out to a close up of her emotionless face. Did she just get botox or something? Hmmmm gonna have a nightmare tonight. Wonder if the mother would have slapped Lindsay if she was in the room instead of Danny.

Okay, fine, I found one thing I like about LIndsay and that is her longer hair instead of the short do.

I know, I can't believe they had her say that line either. What a ridiculous thing to have a character say. And although I am not a fan of the actress who plays Lindsay and would like to blame her for every moronic thing that comes out of Lindsay's mouth :)I have to say that that line was the writers' fault. I don't think any of the actors on the show could have said that line and made it seem like a reasonable thing for an adult to say.

I agree the longer hair is better, but really I don't think she is particularly pretty at all and while it really is fine that they chose a plainer actress to play the part, I wish they had picked an actress who had some kind of spark or warmth to her personality.

The lines for Lindsay were awful in "Oedipus Hex." The father one bothered me for the reasons you guys have said, and then her line right before that "Oh, give Lindsay all the bad jobs" or something like that. Could she be more whiny? Ugh. Stuff like that goes to show it's a combination of writing and acting that just make her impossible to like. Lines like that make me wonder if the writers don't dislike her, too. Stella or Danny would never be given a line like that!
